This office just pulled a "Bait and Switch". September 18th I was told that my procedure would be free and that was the ONLY reason I decided to schedule it. Even the doctor said that I didn't need it done any time soon. Then I come in today, get the procedure done and get slapped with a $1770 bill. I told the front desk that it should be free per what they told me 2 weeks ago and there was not even an attempt to figure out who told me this or how the situation could be remedied. The people here are nice and the facility is well kept, but the work provided here is shoddy at best. My wife and I had a good bit of work (fillings, crowns, and bridges) done here because it was close to home, but not even five years later and both of our work was completely undone. I was simply chewing a piece of gum one day and the filling essentially disintegrated and left a huge hole in my tooth. My wife and I both have fillings that we've had since we were kids and they're still holding up just fine. Again, the people here are nice and the facility is well kept, but the work done here is absolutely terrible. There's plenty of other dentists up and down the street... please go to one of them to save yourself another trip to the dentist after this shoddy work comes undone. Update - just recently had my last tooth that was fixed by Smile break. All the work they did on my wife has broken as well. Had a couple dentists look at the work done and they stated that the materials used were outdated and cheap and not meant to last, which is clearly evidenced by the work that was done on my wife and I. Doctor checked everything out and told me upfront everything I needed done. They gave me a paper with all the prices of how much I'm going to spend and what my insurance covered. Went there many times. Firstly, Reception staff very rude IMO. One time was standing there for at least five minutes before anyone bothered to greet me. The one staff member was glued to telephone not acknowledging my presence. They talked me into having major work done there. After completion of work, my bite was off plus bridge was chipped. Dentist said it was fine and rudely sent me away after charging me big $$$$ for all the procedures I had done. All I can say is that the dentist is now my friend. I hadn't been to the dentist in 16 years, so I was terrified. However I walked into a very modern and comfortable lobby, was created by friendly receptionist (Vivian)and it started there. I first met with Xochi who too my xrays and asked me what did I want to watch on Netflix to make the experience more relaxing. BTW I chose beauty and the beast. Then I met with Cynthia who did the best cleaning ever. check out the pics. Don't get me wrong all those years away from the dentist made my cleaning a little rougher than others, but she made sure that I experience the least amount of pain possible. Just awesome. The dentist Dr Yokana kept a smile on her face as she continued to walk me through my dental analysis and future dental needs. I loved it so much I'm bringing the rest of the family on Monday. Most unorganized dentist office ever, they will schedule a time for you but will take you 30mins+ after your scheduled time. I could understand 10-15mins after or once or twice here and there it happens, but since I had a lot appointments here 10+ and I come in on TIME. I am stuck in the waiting room for 30mins+ every single appointment.The most time I spent waiting was an hr after my scheduled appointment. My daughter has been coming to Smile Dental Care - Chicago for over 7 years for various dental treatments. Recently we've had some bad experiences with lack of communication with their staff & services. She has been going there over 4 years for a Braces treatment which would have ended on September 30, 2022. But they didn't complete a dental scan procedure on her last visit 2 months ago for the new retainers. Her final visit was to have the metal braces removed and new retainer put in. But NO ONE from the office ever checked their notes or called her to advise they made an error. They had my daughter come to a 9AM appt on Sept. 30th and now they had to reschedule her appointment & redo a scan for (8 weeks to order new retainers). She's upset and I'm upset that a simple check of her records to see if things were ordered, etc. Every time she comes to her appts, there are new staff members, new doctors, etc. This was a nice practice when we both started coming to this office. NOW that has changed and NO ONE from this office has called us back. I left a msg with their office manager on 9/30/22 at 4:30 p.m. or some management staff to call me. Nothing yet... I went there a while back to receive x-rays on my impacted wisdom teeth, everything was fine until their oral surgeon came to tell me he can't do it because "they're under my gums" and he can't do it. Well that's the problem.. THEY'RE IMPACTED, you have to take them out through surgery. I was baffled and felt like he didn't want to perform surgery since I had no insurance. I was told to wait 2 years until they come out of my gums, terrible advice. I've been in pain and they do not care. Their attention to detail and true empathy is shown by their thorough explanation of services and the care they deliver. The dentist Stephanie was so knowledgeable and comforting in her care. I had a tooth extracted and a bridge was started. What I thought could be a painful dreadful experience turned out to be a quick and easy process. I love Smile Dental. My whole family loves them. I like that they give you a treatment plan and always present the cost of treatment beforehand. They are very reasonably priced. The only reason I do not give them 5 stars is because I feel they push Invisalign on my husband and I every time we get a cleaning. I immediately felt comfortable when I came for my first appointment. The front desk staff is extremely helpful, and friendly. Do not get fooled by their big FALSE advertisements! I called and scheduled an appointment for my son almost a whole month wait and asked beforehand if they took my insurance which they said they did for what we were going for and once we were there it was over an hour wait to be seen even with an appointment for them to deny my insurance and tell me that I needed to speak to someone that would talk to me about financing and sell me some dental plan they offered. It felt like a cheap salesman gimmick! Had a terrible toothache so I made an appointment online for right when they opened. I got in a few minutes late but they saw me right away. They were so respectful and professional. I had to get my tooth removed due to abscess and I didn't feel a thing. Plus I am pregnant and the other dentist I went to go see refused to help me because of the risk. I was very lucky they got it out. Now just waiting on the healing process. Also I didn't have insurance because it wasn't renewed for this month. This place is amazing! All the staff from the receptionists, hygienist and the dentists are very nice, polite and make you feel so comfortable! The place is clean and very modern, plus you get to pick what you want to watch on Netflix! They have an orthodontist on staff as well. The hygienist does a terrific job at cleaning your teeth, she is very detailed and explains everything she is doing. We arrived for our appointment only to find out our favorite dentist left and they are no longer taking our insurance!! Came in for consultation, needed to have extractions done for braces. I was sent to a different office to get a different x-rays done 3 weeks ago. I scheduled to have the extractions 4 weeks in advance, so I took the day off. I had my appointment today at 4PM, they called me at 2PM to cancel my appointment. I was told the Doctor had just reviewed my x-rays and he could not do the work. What type of management is running this place? I scheduled with a specialist, I would expect someone to review my x-rays days before my appointment, not hours before. I wasted my time going back and forth. I called Smile this morning at around 10:00am and was promptly attended to by the receptionist. I asked if they accepted my insurance plan and she said that they did and asked exactly what services I was in need of. I explained to her that I had not been to the dentist in several years and would require an exam and cleaning and that I actually was experiencing pain in my tooth. She asked if I could come in a 12:00pm to which I promptly responded yes. From the minute I walked in to the time I was addressed was maybe 30 seconds. The receptionist gave me the standard paperwork to fill out while she made copies of my insurance card and I.D.. I was introduced to the dentist assistant and he gave sat me down and asked me what brought me in today. I explained my situation and he asked me why I had taken so long to be seen by a dentist and I told him about my previous bad experiences at the dentist office. He assured me that things are done differently at Smile and that the number one goal is the patients satisfaction and comfort throughout any procedure. He also explained that they would do their best to maximize my benefits from my insurance plan so my out of pocket expenses were kept relatively low. He began by taking a full set of x rays and pictures of my teeth. He then reviewed all the images and then went over everything with me. By the way, the entire x ray process was pretty painless and stress free using advanced imaging equipment. He went through the obvious problems that I have and explained why I was experiencing issues with my teeth. He introduced me to Dr. Stephanie who was very friendly and did a great job of going through what the game plan was for me. I must also mention that they understand that people can't always afford to pay for many of the procedures all at once so they really try to schedule the treatments so they can be done in a timely manner but the patient isn't being drowned by the dental bill. Overall I was very impressed by the service from the entire staff at Smile and look forward to working with them to get my smile looking good once again. read more

Entire office staff was sensitive and attentive to my fears and needs related to my dental work. They were very thorough and explained the ins and outs of everything. Cynthia was great, she recognized my hesitancy of getting a cleaning (after a horrible experience elsewhere). She took her time, explained everything and was very patient with me. She even taught my daughter how to floss while doing my cleaning. I appreciated the extra education for her. Entire family is coming here for all dental work. This company sucks, I came to get my sons braces on and they were nice and understanding the first few months, then the bull shit started they told us every month that my son needs the braces on for one more month and he can get it off this went on for over a year until we realized the Dentist just wanted to fatten his pockets and charge us every visit even if they didn't do any work and just look at his teeth, so finally we decided just to tell them to take the braces off that we were threw with them so they said it's possible to take his braces off I just needed to make one more payment of $125 so our appointment eventually came and now we're here and the bullshit doesn't stop they told me that I have to make a payment of $900 or they won't send him his retainers...
