After having some issues with a different local oral surgeon in an attempt to get my wisdom tooth removed, he took one look at it and said "oh I can do that".......FOR 90% LESS THAN THE OTHER DOCTOR HAD QUOTED ME. There seems to be another Prairie Lakes elsewhere or a couple disgruntled patients didn't like hearing the truth. No one really wants to go to the dentist. I don't care how wonderful this dentist and his staff are (..and they ARE!) It stinks to have to pay for our poor dental hygiene choices (you know you put off a visit) or bad genes. And my hygienist was knowledgable, talked me through everything and even made a note in my chart about preferences much appreciated. Additionally, they do provide fluoride for their adult patients. This is crucial and I've been getting this ever since I've gone to the dentist. Meeting the dentist was great, she was personable and shared her advice with me about my concerns. She did not force me into any decisions and said it was my choice but she would air on the side of conservative treatment. Is it your policy to charge people when you did no procedure and did no cleaning? I was in the chair for approximately one minute." They explained that it was their policy. I paid the bill and left. A few days later I receive a letter from him in the mail. He asked me not to come back and he called me a liar. I was flabbergasted. I didn't agree with his practice of charging a fee for no work being done, but I was never rude to him or his staff. I will not be going back. You won't have to ask me twice.
