He numbed me and came back about 10 minutes later. From many years experience with dentists, I know when I not numb, so when he started yanking on my tooth, I immediately felt pain and raised my hand. I told him I felt pain, so he gave me more novacaine, but instead of waiting 10 minutes like before, this guy started yanking on the tooth right away! Again, I felt pain, raised my hand and said, "I can still feel that." He was behind me, and I could feel and hear an abrupt move that he made, and then I saw the plastic glasses he was wearing FLYING THROUGH THE AIR AND LANDING ON THE COUNTER ACROSS THE ROOM, followed by him saying, "I'm going to have to come back then!" in an obviously irritated manner. I would NEVER go back to this guy again. He's RUDE!!!

Upon making my consultation I was not told that the consultation cost money. So I came in expecting to not pay anything and I was told that it was a fee for the x-rays.(I was in the market for a fast races and have gone to multiple consultations, this was the ONLY place that charge for a consultation) I appreciated then doing the physical exam without the x-rays,(I did expressed that I refuse to pay money for anything) but the office was small and all the equipment was extremely out of date. At the end of the appointment I was given an idolize bill of what my treatment will cost and potentially how much my insurance would pay for. I ended up going to "Infinity Smile Dental" located in South Holland. Not only is Infinity Smiles office clean, their staff is extremely nice, its equipment is extremely up-to-date and My treatment was at a little over $1,000 less than what A-Z was about to charge for the same braces treatment.

I just think it makes its easier on everyone involved. Lol I saw Dr Stevenson years ago and came back to him again. Such a nice professional doctor. Easing fears. His assistant nurse is like a friend the first time you meet her and on surgery day made me so relaxed. Dr Stevenson even checked up on me that night with a phone call. Don't hesitate to call!!! I was there for a cleaning, and the hygienist (Christina) wanted to do a procedure I asked her not to. She insisted, I said no a second time. I had to say no 4 times, and then she said I should see the "other hygienist" next time I come. Today I went it for some major work. The doctor recommended I see an oral surgeon. I was fine with that. But I couldn't get an appointment with the recommended oral surgeons anytime soon. I asked if I could speak to the doctor again, I would wait. I really needed help getting an appointment with an oral surgeon. I'm in pain, and can't wait a month to see someone. Michele, the dental assistant who was talking with me, told me I was yelling. I was not. She said her feelings were hurt because I said no one would help me, and she did get me a few more names. She said she had gone over and above what she normally would. Getting names of a few oral surgeons is over and above? She told me I could call any oral surgeon (I know that). I would also mention that our conversation should have taken place in private. Not in the waiting room. Michele turned her back on me and shut the door in my face. Way to go, UrgentDent. This shows complete lack of respect and professionalism And I've been a patient there for many years. While I think the world of Dr. Nik, I'll be looking for a new dental practice. One of my top molars had a filling in it and I cracked it on a tortilla chip. No big deal I thought. A couple of weeks later the filling falls out, but it doesn't hurt and is only annoying, and I'm broke, so carry on. Well, well..a another week or two go by and all of a sudden it just starts killing me. It hurt so much it was incredible. I've had tattoos, broken bones, but this was a special kind of pain. It was Sunday night so I went to the ER of all things just to try to get through the night. The next morning I called Dr. Ahed's office and they said I could come in the same day! Hooray! So I went and he was very professional and nice, genuinely. It's just him and his wife there and you're in good hands with both of them. I ended up having an exposed nerve and infection. All in all I was there for 3 visits and every one was great. My first visit I was there for almost 2 hours and never felt any pain. As a matter of fact, as soon as I got there he gave me some novacaine so we could even talk about what was going on. Then he took care of the nerves and things and sent me home with meds. I came back a few days later and got the nerves filled and fitted for a crown. Then two weeks later, today, I got my crown and was in and out of there. Oh, and the FIRST DAY I WENT WAS THE ONLY DAY I NEEDED PAIN MEDICATION after he worked on me. That night, I took 2 ibuprofen before bed. The three days before that I had been taking 3 ibuprofen and 2 tylenol with codeine as often as I could without hurting myself and sipping ice water non-stop to deal with the pain. Got a root canal and it was done. Done. The guy is amazing. And a perfectionist. The good kind. When I got my crown today he checked it umpteen times and made sure I was happy happy. So here I am telling you how great he is and that you should go. Definitely go. If you have emergency pain, go to this dentist. Bottom line. Don't keep looking. Don't wonder if there's someone better, closer. Call and go and feel better now. Just calling will make you feel better. They are also very up front about pricing and options for care. Oh, and their appointments are on time. You're not sitting there waiting for an hour while other people go in. When they say be there, they mean in the chair. He's not out to swindle you. He wants you to have nice teeth and take care of them so your teeth and his good work will last. Thanks Doc!!

I had to ask the staff who was doing my ex rays to put gloves on which she didn't do until after the fact. Then Staff left me at machine with my mouth attached to machine ( no doors every one can see you) to room another patient. Staff kept old gloves on after touching everything and rooming other pt. It was not a good experience
