One of the best shows we've ever seen - he's still hilarious even 45 years after first appearing on the scene with the 'Vhat a country" schtick. Now that the USSR is defunct, he's shifted somewhat - still has bits about growing up under communism, arriving here, and his career, but he's added a lot of witty observations about the differences between men and women. We like that his comedy is clean (at worst, PG13), and I suspect that only a strident ideologue will object to hearing that men and women - in important ways - are not the same. He has an immigrants love for this country, but even though I'm far from the 'America - love it or leave it' type, didn't feel uncomfortable, or like I was being preached to. Highly recommended. Attended this with friends and we laughed and laughed through the whole show. We were still laughing in the car on the way home. If you want to see a show with lots and lots of humor, this show needs to be added to your must see list while in Branson. His show is currently in the Dutton Theatre, as his theatre was severely damaged during a storm a couple years ago. That being said, you have to try their fudge. The Dutton's are famous for their fudge, along with being a great show themselves. read more

I find it hard to believe that a person from another country has more respect and love for this country then probably 60% of Americans. We saw his show last night in Branson. You could just feel the love and respect he has for this country. All I have to say is if you want to feel good about America again and have a great evening out, this is where you need to go. Yakov, the iconic American comedian put on a great show. The show is not just a comedy show but a telling of his story, a patriotic immigrant, through the use of his comedy. The story begins in Russia as a child, covers his arrival in America, entry into comedy that touched on global politics, work in the entrainment industry, his move to Branson and his work as a painter. Did you know he also got a PhD at Pepperdine University? Not an honorary degree rather he studied and garnered his degree in Psychology? The story is told through his humor which he sees a critical to life and our relationship with others. During the show numerous times he interacts with audience members, and it is a family friendly show. At the end of the show he gives Autographs and photos to people that purchase merchandise in the lobby and those who don't. He is still honored to have become an American and stayed until every last photo and signature that was wanted was provided. Though out that time has a short conversation with everyone he meets. Yakov has a limited schedule now, but I've seen his show three times in this past year. The comedy is good and he's got a quit wit. His family history is interesting and delivers a strong message about the greatness of being an American. His love of America shines through in all he says and does. I bought his books and they are a fast interesting read. It's a good show for all ages! Becky in the box office provides excellent service, too! Every seat in the theater was not full but it would be nice to see that happen again. Easy access in and out of the theater is a nice benefit. read more

Even though much of his material dates from the Soviet era, it maintains relevancy thanks to countries like North Korea and China. In addition, Yakov is still a great comedian, with excellent timing and a gentleness not seen in most comics. I was disturbed by all the empty seats in the auditorium and that so many people missed a terrific show. Given the opportunity, I would certainly see him again! read more

Great atmosphere, screens well positioned and great camera work. Only time I could not see the front of stage was during the National Anthem. Yakov's Mike went out a third of the way through the show, he waited for a hand Mike for a remedy and then continued the show. Hilariously funny. Disappointed. when Yakov tells jokes he's hilarious. Trouble is less than 20% of the time in the show was jokes. He had Russian folk dancing between sets... boring. He was pushing his other shows.... irritating. He gave marriage counseling advice with some humor, but really... I'm here to laugh not change my life. The show had some funny moments and a touching section on Yakov's life back in the day. However, there was also some lecturing about living your life now. It wasn't bad information, it just wasn't funny. One of the bits was an interaction with the audience as a presidential press conference where he was president of the USA and that was funny. Although, this night the audience didn't get it for some reason it was still good seeing Yakov adlib. During intermission he will sign and take pictures with the audience. read more

Best show we saw in Branson! Yakov's comedic performance was 5 stars! Smart comedy at its finest. Giving 4 stars though because of the dinner. University Seminar style seats - pull the "desk" up from the side of your theater seat. If you're "standard American fat", you'll have a difficult time. I was amazed at how fast the staff were able to deliver the meals and get them distributed to over 2000 people in attendance. Very efficient delivery service, the trays have a magnet base so they won't slide off of the pull up tray holder. Yokov showed everyone how to successfully take off the cover and store it under the seat, ate with the crowd, talked and answered questions. After eating all trays easily stored under the seats and Yokov had a great time teasing ladies in the front row how they "had to open their legs to get it to slide in" "see how it went right in easily, remember that"...........lol. The show was great, very funny and entertaining. Loved the Christmas show and the story of how he came to this country and his first thoughts of America "What a Country!" Hilarious story of his views coming from his country Russia to the USA. He is very patriotic and proud to be a US Citizen and appreciative of his freedom and proud of our veterans. Quite entertaining and funny. Enjoyed tremendously. Well worth the price of the tickets. During intermission and after the show, Yokov signed autographs and let the audience take pictures with him, very down home and friendly atmosphere.
