This post is a follow-up on a review I left about three weeks ago. In that review, I had complained about Smith Brother's policy of not delivering to our new apartment. Since then, we received a call from Smith Bros. saying that the driver had looked at our apartment complex and decided he could indeed deliver here. Our Smith Brothers milkman is great! We can change our order on line the day before, and he's always on time the next morning with our delivery. It's one less bulky item to bring home from the grocery store. And it's kind of nostalgic to still see a milk truck cruise through the neighborhood. And Smith Bros. always joins our little Normandy Park 4th of July parade! read more

The milk is, and has aways been, so refreshing that even my children when they were in elementary school would comment on how good it was. Kids don't generally rave about milk, but it is that much better than what I could buy at most groceries. read more

I agree with the other person who ran into problems with their billing. The milk is OK, and the driver was nice, but they can't fix their billing issues. They continued to deliver even after I had canceled service, and were quite rude on the phone. If you can't live without average milk, get it in a store that carries it. read more

We have been, rather were Smith Brothers customers for several years. Our delivery driver was great, product always delivered early in the morning before we left for work and the boys enjoyed the product. Both boys are now off to college and our milk consumption is down. Smith Brothers recently instituted a $10 per delivery minimum order or an additional $1.29 would be tacked on if you were under. Seems pretty ridiculous as the driver delivers next door and up and down the street. Enough to make me cancel and take my business elsewhere. Been a customer for 20 years. Very surprised after reading the negative reviews. I guess the biggest issue is getting a great delivery person. We have had the same person the whole time and his grown sons help out when he is out of town. Best service AND Best tasting milk. We hate drinking anything else. Recently added eggs to the delivery. I've read the reviews and I've experienced the product and the service. I find the online order system to be quite simple and accurate. The products I order are delivered on-time to my box by my front door. The quality is outstanding. I have been receiving deliveries for several months, and it does cost a bit more than the mass-production stuff from major-chain grocery stores, but I can literally taste the quality and difference. I'm a gourmet cook, and I know the difference between quality and pretending - Smith Brothers is quality. Dairy products can't get any better than this. read more

My daughter has her Smith Brothers Farm deliveries made to our home, as they are not in a delivery area. They are GREAT! I was wondering if anyone could review their free range turkeys? She has ordered one for Thanksgiving, but when I made a face (we had free range chickens, and I did NOT like the taste!) she started thinking about cancelling! Help. Although their products are fresh and delicious, I'm not sure it's worth it. I get my delivery on Friday and I get billed on Thursday. PROBLEM #1) Every so often the card get "declined" and my shipment doesn't show up. So, no milk for my toddler on Friday since I have to go to work. There is always money in my bank account, so then starts the endless phone calls and voicemail's - "There is a problem with your card, you need to call us immediately!" PROBLEM #2) There is no forewarning if an item is out of stock, so it just doesn't show up in your box in the morning. Just a note and "HOPE" you don't get charged! read more

I feel bad giving them one star. I was a customer for 8 years. I love their milk. I wish I could buy it locally. But, their customer service sucks big time! I got so fed up with their billing that I finally tried to cancel. You can't even cancel online, you can only postpone a delivery. So I went through the phone maze to reach billing and canceled. I was expecting them to come pick up their cooler from my front porch but they never showed up. I don't really need another cooler in my garage so I left it out there hoping one day he would pick it up. 6 weeks later I get a demand letter for payment. I tell them "I haven't been getting milk since I canceled 6 weeks ago" and they tell me the driver states that each week he picks up old milk and leaves new milk and wonders why......huh?? Really! huh? First of all, not true. I kicked that cooler several times during that period and it was empty. They demanded payment. I paid and canceled. I feel ripped off paying for milk I never received. But it was the drivers word against mine and I've only been an 8 year customer! Horrible customer service. read more

The whole concept of getting fresh milk delivered to my door appealed to me, but if the milk and eggs they provide are obtained just as cruelly as the products you get from factory farms, there's no way in hell I would support this business. After finding no mention of how they treat their animals on their web site, I contacted them to learn more about it before signing up for their service. I also inquired about visiting their farm (I wasn't going to go there to be honest, but I wanted to find out how open they are about it). When I first sent them email asking about the delivery, they emailed me back right away since I would be a potential customer. When I started inquiring about visiting their farm and how they raise and treat their animals, they avoided me and ignored my emails and phone calls. To me, this is a clear indication that they have no regards for the well being of their animals. I'll stick to my local farmers who welcome farm visits and show the world how humanely they treat their animals. I pay double and triple the grocery store prices for it and it's worth it. read more

Their dairy products are delicious however their changes to the way in which they conduct their business over the past couple of years is AWFUL! They made changes for their benefit as a company only and forgot about their customers. It used to be extremely convenient to order dairy products through your driver and now you much do it via email or online. Their standing order policy is crazy. Maybe it works for some people who order the same thing every week but for us it just doesn't work as our schedules are different every week which alters consumption of these products. We used to also be able to make payment via our driver which was SO easy. Now you must mail in payment or pay with credit card which I find annoying and inconvenient. Again, it goes back to CUSTOMER SERVICE which I feel that they have completely forgotten. As of today my account is cancelled and I'll buy our dairy products from our local QFC who carries Twin Brook Farms products out of Lynden (which are also delicious). I was trying to continue to support our local dairies and a local small business but am done. The thing that I think many small businesses forget (I say this because we have one and this is our MAIN focus) is that they have to offer customer service as this is the main area in which they can differentiate themselves from a much larger business/store. It's hard to compete on price but customer service, policies, etc is where they can win customers and Smith Brothers just isn't doing that anymore. You can have a delicious product (which they do) but poor customer service and policies and it just doesn't make it worth it to do business with a company anymore. Horrible customer service. I forgot to put out our box ONCE for our Wednesday delivery and wondered what happend...for three weeks after that I religiously made sure it was out always...end result... nothing deliverd. I figured hey they will try to deliver again or at least communicate with us on what the issue is. I was so busy with work I really never gave it much thought...until I received a nasty voicemail from some lady who I assume is their customer service rep. She stated that the milkman had tried to deliver for three weeks but there was no box out....WHAT? That box has sat out there for three weeks straight! Do their drivers even get out of their truck when looking. It's in plain sight on the porch! Anyhow when I called her back she said that if I did not respond to the issue my account would be cancelled and I would be charged 35.00 for the cooler box. Pardon me lady. I never intended to cancel in the first place but I sure will now. She was very uppity, condescending and snobbish if you ask me. Never again will I buy or recommend this company. Customer service SUCKS! At least an email or a call seeking to resolve the issue before the nasty call would have been nice. I also distinctly remember the salesman telling me on base that the box was ours to keep. After all that they can keep their box AND their products. Customers do not seem to be a priority. I actually liked the milk too. Ah well, moving on. Two deliveries was it. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. They werent delivering the right products and one time i didnt get anything but they said i did. One of my deliveries was delivered to my neighbors house. The fourth time I went outside and only half the stuff arrived so I immediately called them and asked why. They said they would call me back. I went inside and saw my husband had brought the other stuff in on his way to work (which he never does) So i called them back and said nevermind and that I was sorry I didnt realize that my husband had brought some inside. I then got an email saying it was best that they canceled my account. I called again and asked why because I always pay and hadnt done anything wrong. I spoke to the manager who called me a thief and a liar. I was so upset as to why he would say that. He said agree to disagree then called me a cunt and hung up. I am an active duty military/mother and am not in the habbit of scamming anyone. Horrible horrible service and to be called a cunt?! I was in shock. I emailed the founder of Smith Brothers who never responded. I sent him a facebook message with attachments of emails and pictures I took of messed up orders. He got the message but again never responded. They really dont care about you unless you are filling them with compliments. Guarantee no one will contact me about the issue. Seems that the only ones who get a response are the ones who are happy. Its a shame bc i like their products but....grocery outlet has their products cheaper and target sells the milk so....never again. read more

When we lived on Puyallups South Hill Rob Frederick was our milk man for many years. The products were always very fresh, often with dates going out 6 or even 8 weeks. . When we moved to Graham we had a different delivery man and suddenly things were set to expire within 7 to 14 days so we quit the service. When we recently moved to Federal Way and had a card left at the door about the delivery service I called and discussed my concerns and clearly stated I expected fresh products. The 1st delivery was Greek yogurt which had less than 2 weeks to go (It was available at winco with a 6 week shelf life) and the milk was set to expire before our next delivery date. When I called customer service a young sounding man tried to give me a song and dance about their pasturization process only allowed for a 2 week turn around time. What in the world...I pointed out the yogurt was a national brand I could buy at the grocery store. Since I had stressed the previous problem we had had in Graham with the salesman who sighned me up in Federal Way I would have thought he would have told me about this 2 week shelf life thing. Which I don't think is real. I think it was the customer service guys way of BSng me. I cancelled the service. If you can get Rob Frederick as your driver you will have a good experience otherwise who knows... read more
