We didn't have to wait long as it was delivered to our table by a nice server quite quickly! We were in and out in about 10-15 minutes. I will say I was expecting more grilled items since it was barbecue but nonetheless the fried chicken was quite yummy. My husband ordered the value pack for the chicken sandwich and I had the combo plate with chicken and a sweet tea. The sweet tea was definitely sweet but delicious too! The combo plate was pretty good as it came with cole slaw potato salad, dark meat, and fried chicken. Quite filling! If you are over 70 and it's Sunday you will like Smithfields (because we are by far the youngest here). I got the dark meat chicken plate that came with a non mayo based coleslaw, potato salad, and hush puppies. I added a banana pudding and non sweet tea. The place is huge inside with lots of tables and staff is super friendly. Food came out under 10 min. The chicken was hot and juicy but I wasn't a huge fan of the very crumbly batter. The coleslaw was sweet and was very cold and it was decent. The potato salad was ok but not memorable - not sweet but did not taste of heavy mayo. The hush puppies were ok - again nothing I would have to come back for. The kid got a pulled pork sandwich which had a good amount of meats but really could of used a bbq sauce. The have a vinager based sauce on the tables but it very thin and heavy on the vinager. The banana pudding was my least favorite thing - it was a very sweet vanilla pudding with that artificial banana and no real bananas. It did include a few vanilla wafers (however it was very cheap so you get what you pay for). Overall the meal wasn't bad I just wouldn't feel the need to come back. You can place an order for takeout or delivery on their website or you can order at the counter in the store and seat yourself. This location has a large parking lot and plenty of seating on the inside. It's basically a fast food joint and the food came out almost instantaneously after I ordered it. I got the BBQ Pork Platter ($10.50) and the Chicken Tender Platter ($10). The BBQ was sauce is vinegar based but it was unimpressive and both the sauce and pork tasted really bland. The chicken tenders were better but also lacked flavor and I had to douse it in a ton of hot sauce. The best part of the platter was the hush puppies. I like chicken breasts, wings, and legs which they fry up perfectly. The thighs are okay, but I'm just not a fan sometimes. You're waiting for the reason I'm giving them four stars, right? So... I was at the Smithfields on Yopp Rd for lunch today. I frequent this location every Sunday and it is always a great experience. Today was an amazing experience. I saw some new faces and though they were training they took my order with a smile and took the time to make sure they got my order correct. I asked to speak to a manager to tell him about this experience. His name was fro. He made sure our order was to our liking and he was so polite and really made sure his employees were taking care of us. We never had to leave our seat for anything. I had been not feeling well and finally when my appetite returned I was craving a Smithfield combo plate. I was so disappointed. The chicken was more coating then chicken, which was dry even with Texas Pete on it. The potato salad didn't have any flavor/seasoning. Coleslaw was also flavorless and watery. Hush puppies were so greasy I ended up "peeling" them to eat the inside at least. The BBQ was good but the portion was 1/2 size it should have been.
