Sorry food was so good almost forgot to take a picture.

My girlfriend and I were driving back from Orlando today. Pennsylvania is a long drive away so we decided to stop in North Carolina for some Carolina BBQ. We wanted to go to another BBQ place but it was closed and we stumbled upon Smithfield, and I am sure glad that we did! The food was amazing and we both got our cravings filled for BBQ and Fried Chicken. The meal was very cheap and was a nice change from Orlando prices. They provide you with a large helping of food. You get two sides and a half dozen hush puppies. We left filled and happy. The service was absolutely amazing! We were helped be what I think was one of the managers and he was absolutely amazing! He helped us order, checked in on us, and came back and gave us refills on our drinks. All other employees were also willing to help and make our meal as wonderful as possible. Overall, great food for a great price. Outstanding service that will bring us back anytime we pass through North Carolina!

Ordered this through door dash. It was horrible. Ordered the combo plate. The barbecue was disgusting; it was actually purple! The fried chicken was questionably done. The potato salad was watery. The baked beans had slimy particles in it. We spent $40 total for delivery, etc. I threw every bit of it in the trash can. I think this was the 2nd time in my life I've ever eaten at Smithfield BarBQ; I will never eat there again. I will warn anyone against eating there. I guarantee that if we had eaten any of that "food," we would have gotten sick. I wish I could give a zero rating.

    BBQ chicken and Brunswick stew

Very small pieces of chicken. BBQ is nothing to brag about. It's ok. The Brunswick stew is bland. It doesn't have that same tangy ness as Bill's bbq. Prices are too high for what you get. People are nice.

So, this year we tried someone new. Marty's. The food was exceptionally made. I ate things I normally haven't liked all my life, tried it, and fell in love and wanted MORE! My favorite was the BBQ pork! Are you kidding me? And then add their sauce on top.....COME ON......I was FLOORED! I am hoping with all my might there is some extra we can take home. However, I doubt it because everyone ate UP! The service was great. Very accommodating and professional. I hope we will continue to use them!

The good news ... from what they had to offer, the food was quite tasty. The bad news ... the offerings were limited. From what we saw on the menu, it seemed to be mostly chicken (with a lot of it fried) and some chopped pork. Now I know this is the Carolinas so brisket may not be an option. But the pig is so revered I thought we would see that offered a number of ways, and at least see some baby back ribs on the menu. Not sure this place is named properly as I expected to see more BBQ than anything else on the menu, and that is simply not the case.

You walk in and the young HS or College Busboys/waiters are lined up waiting to assist. It has to be one of the most nostalgic things gs I've seen in a long time. The sweet tea is southern pucker sweet & perfect!! There's malt vinegar on the table for collards, and the NC vinegar based BBQ sauce was very good. However, the chopped pork BBQ did t really need any help, it was just as good on its own and not mushy. I even enjoyed the yellow coleslaw, it's a mustard & vinegar base and tasty. The Brunswick stew could have been heat hotter, but it had a decent taste with plenty of meat & veggies. I would definitely drive out of my way again to share Parker's with my 15yr old who missed this road trip.

Crowded at lunch time but we quickly got a table. The crowd was diverse, tending to be a bit older. 2.Pitcher of tea delivered quickly and left on table. 3 The food: chopped barbecue served eastern NC style. Very good with lots of vinegar to add on the table; epic corn sticks and slightly sweetened hush puppies for the table; green beans served southern style just like grandma made them; mustard Cole slaw, a bit too sweet but yummy and Mac and cheese. We inhaled it. 4. Great prices ; $10 for a plate. 5. And key to a great bbq restaurant: the ribbons of the champion hogs they, ah, bought for dinner. Not oversized portions, which is great. Clean and a great small town stop.

The owners are both Cancer Survivors and local clergy. When it comes to a nice southern meal on a Sunday you can bet that they will get the job done. They have TURKEY BBQ, let's me honey we all need to eat a little bit healthier. This restaurant gives you the chance to eat good and live longer. My only complaint is that sometimes items will run out. In time I believe they will have a system to eke it's that or the communist will come in and support stronger so they that will have to urgency to cook more. Atmosphere : Jazz Music, Praise and Worship, Holiday tunes galore. This place is a nice, chill low key, quite place to enjoy your meal without the burden of being overcrowded or uncomfortable. Adding a little more color and personality on the inside and outside will make this place a staple and will show the to compete with the bbq giants of Eastern NC. Service : When they first opened I will admit the wait time to actually have your food was not impressive. Since then, they have a new system and have been getting orders out in a hurry. They are always attentive to FREE refills and depending on how nice you smile they might even throw in a couple of extra hushpuppies. The best service in Wilson County by far. There team makes you feel right at home Cleanliness : The restaurant is the cleanest in the 252 when compared to other bbq spots. Last I checked they were at 98. There are two big name bbq spots in Wilson and neither of them have above and 88 score so let that sink in. All in all if you love to support local and starter business then throw your support behind this one! Mcdonald and Bojangles have had enough of your dollars now it's time to invest back into the community! EAT AT BOOGIES

Super friendly service and a warm inviting atmosphere with table linens and seating that is nicely spaced to afford you more intimacy than most places. All of the entrees were great. My favorite had to be the fresh cut and fried potato slices- whatever you order, don't miss those! It's a banquet hall and catering business but it does a very brisk brunch business and there were three groups there who were celebrating special occasions, so it can accommodate groups of various sizes pretty easily.
