It's a Smith's. It's good. It has almost all the things you look for. The produce, meat, canned goods, deli, etc. are all what you would expect and what we here in America take for granted. Stocked shelves, quality products, good service. It's clean and well lit. I shop here often. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Typically bakeries request a 48 hour notice for an order but I did ask to see if they could do a birthday cake for my granddaughter a day before and they came through! I have contacted Smith's customer service multiple times to get a refund on a gift card I paid $50.00 for but was never activated and thus was embarrassing when I attempted to pay for dinner at the Olive Garden. I shred the receipt but wrote the card amount on the card. I usually tape the activation code to every gift card I buy at Smiths. Somehow the activation code came off and I couldn't locate it and did not have a hard copy of the receipt. In addition, the useless form letter continued to request a digital copy of the receipt which I obviously did not have. After each call the agent said, "We will find the digital receipt for you and this matter will be resolved for your refund." After numerous phone calls promising the same fair refund, it never happened. I continue to get a form letter asking for the same thing. I have wasted much more than $50.00 of my time. Smith's should be ashamed of the unethical and dishonest treatment of senior citizens who have little discretionary funds to purchase gift cards! When I attempted to have the local Smiths in East Sandy, UT resolve the matter, they gave me the international call center number which has been frustrating and useless. The local manager refuses to stand behind the gift card fraud. Smith's gift card customer service deserves a negative 10! read more

We dropped off a prescription earlier in the day for my daughter who was being discharged from the hospital. We arrived at the pharmacy right at 8;00 and spoke to the pharmacist who was just closing up. We asked if we could pick up our prescription and she said no. We explained to her that our daughter was just discharged from the hospital and needed her pain meds to help her get through the night. She smiled and said she was sorry. This was a pharmacist who should actually care about patients! One more reminder why we stopped using Smiths Pharmacy. There is no excuse for turning away a patient in need. read more

They recently did some renovations to this older Smith's, though I don't shop here all that often, and honestly can't pinpoint anything in particular that seems new now. The interior still appears a little dated and dingy. Might have just been a face-lift to the literal face of the front of the store, now that I think about it. It has all the standard stuff, though, and I especially appreciate their easy to locate clearance. Produce is fresh enough, though pricier than my standard spots. Parking is plentiful, and even during the dreaded after work hours, I've never had to wait long to check out. One time they only had self-checkout available, which drives me bonkers, but the associate manning that area was on the ball, immediately assisting me with the two issues the computer presented. As seems to be the case at most Smiths, the employees are genuinely friendly. In the end, sure, there are many glossier sources of groceries, but Smiths is the epitome of your neighborhood store, and that happy customer service, paired with the convenience if you live nearby, are what keep me returning. read more

Do not waste your time or money. The employees that work here are the most unhelpful I've ever encountered. I've never had a good experience but today pushed me over the edge. After keeping my patience with two young kids while trying to quickly shop before dinner time, I waited in line for 10 minutes only to be told it was shutting down when it was time to put my groceries on the conveyor belt. I then had to wait in line again to self-scan my groceries with two crying children. The absolute worst. read more

Writing this a second time because I don't think the last one went through. I never leave bad reviews. This is my very first one. But I can't remember being this frustrated. I spent hours doing an online order for pick up today that was over $700. The order was confirmed, and an hour later I made a couple of edits and it was confirmed again. Sometime after that they canceled it. I didn't even get a text. I happened to check on it before I left work and saw that it was canceled. I spoke to an online person who then offered me a five dollar credit for the hours of time I spent shopping the order and the hours of time that I'm gonna have to go shop it somewhere else. . I need it today. All this after nine hours of work. I told the online person five dollars was crazy so she offered me a $25 credit for my next order. Why the hell would I place another order? I was so frustrated that I drove to the store to talk to the manager. The manager wasn't there and they didn't even have an assistant manager there. It's 5 o'clock on Friday. . What the heck are they thinking? I asked the people I spoke to if they could please just shop the order. They said no they were too busy. I worked at, then ran, grocery stores for over 15 years (during the pandemic no less). If the department couldn't fulfill an online order that was confirmed , I would pull someone from a different department to make sure it got done. The manager needs to have a better policy for this. The person who was doing her best to run the store was kind, but she couldn't do anything else for me. This is insane, especially for a $700 order. But for anyone to have to deal with five hours of wasted time for absolutely nothing is bat crap crazy. I'm going back in on Monday to try to speak to the manager. Everytime I came here, they had what I wanted. Before coming here, I went to a different Smith but they ran out of an item that I wanted. This specific location always restocks which I really loved. It is very clean and bright. A lot of parking spaces to parked. I don't think they will ever run out of parking spaces. It is very conveniently next to Arby's. read more

I go there because it's close and I usually have a good experience. But their lines are always really long, they need to hire more cashiers. Self checkout is the worst self checkout I've ever used. And the cashiers/baggers over stuff their chincy bags. I always have to rebag my groceries, if I don't, the bags break. Twice we've had a jar of taco sauce and a jar of pickles splatter on our driveway from them over stuffing their cheap bags. When we've called and complained they don't do anything. They at least could tell us to come back in and they'll replace the broken items we just bought or tell us they'll give us our money back, but they don't do anything. read more

The one reason I don't like this location is because of one of the employees named Stephen, he is a manager. He is very rude to the baggers. He was yelling at one of the baggers because the women's bathroom was filthy. It's not the baggers job to clean the restrooms. I know one of the baggers who used to work there and he would never let him take a break his whole shift and he would make him stay past his shift to clean the bathrooms. That's not right! I've even gone to this smith's and he's always rude and never friendly. read more

The biggest perk about this Smiths for me is location. It's certainly not new or updated, but the people who work there are always friendly. I was noticing a pattern though. My kids get along at every store we go to...except for Smith's. Turns out those little car-carts they have for mom's with small children are tiny, cramped, and uncomfortable. They kids can't resist them, but then they're miserable, and then I'm miserable. They do however have mini shopping carts for the kids to push around. Those are much better. Smith's stores overall are good though. Food prices are actually pretty reasonable. Much cheaper than Fresh Market. read more

And the closest Smiths with a file station is way out of my waY. So there are really not many "perks" they I am able to utilize any more. This smiths has very little turnover, and because of that, we have gotten to know much of the staff. Really kind people who are always super willing to help. Kroger has record profits and this store (1300 East) looks like it's going out of business. Empty shelves in the frozen foods, salads, and many other departments. Manager must have a new bonus program. Can't keep good help. Heard he cut employee hours. I've been shopping here for 15 years. It used to be a good store. Now, it's number 3 on my list. Deli counter is and has been a disaster. One poor girl has all the responsibility and zero help. Good luck getting sliced meat or cheese on a timely basis. Only 1 person in the deli and she's overwhelmed with also stocking the refrigerated foods to go, the premade sandwiches, and other foods. Try to go in for sliced meats and your backed up, sometimes for 20-30 minutes due to orders in front of you. I started going to the Draper store on 123rd, even though it's 2.5 miles further, and it's like a different company owns it.. Fully stocked, plenty of people in the deli and bakery. It actually looks like the manager cares about customers instead of his bonus bottom line. read more

I normally feel just a little better about myself when I come here and not Walmart. Workers seem to be more alive and not have that corporate dead look in their eyes. People are friendly and the location is close to my house. They have pretty efficient lines because it's not overcrowded, self check out is pretty easy if you're buying things you'd rather not share with people (like healthy food). Overall it's a pretty good place with pretty good people. read more

I'm amazed Smith's is still in business. Last week, I had problems getting their app to accept my debit card. This week, an entire week since the last debacle, I again had problems with their app, and their website. The problem took four days for IT to get around to telling me what I already knew: it was my bank,'s fault. Still, I was a week late getting groceries, so I tried. Their app, and their website said I made an error on my debit card information. The bank says the transaction went through the first time. Their solution: wait until IT fixes the problem. Last time it took four days, and they actually expect me to wait that long? Their app is already off my phone. Good luck, if you encounter a problem, they won't be able to fix it. read more

Sometimes, this store has THE nicest workers. Today, I asked tattooed Whitney who I ran into if they carried strawberry pie filling. She rolled her eyes and barely shaked her head. Then I asked her where something else was. It was the next aisle over and i was at the bottom of the aisle. Instead of her allowing ME, the customer, to quickly walk around the corner to enter the next aisle, she had a flat of stock and she wouldn't even move out of my way. That, combined with her 110% RUDENESS just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I worked in customer service for 25 years. Not returning to this store. I'll just go to Harmons. I just moved to the area and have shopped at this smiths several times. I usually shop late at night and the last few times I have had to use the self check out...that would be fine if it was for a few items but it has been for a cart full of groceries. Definitely fine once but it has become a thing now....and I'm over it. Seems like they are under staffed at night. Probably won't do any more big shops there if I have to go at night. This place is a zoo, poor parking, horrible traffic,. They were sold out of the two everyday products I was looking for. They had T-bone steaks on sale for $4.99 a lb. I thought great price. I had a store associate come up to me and tell me I could not shop there unless my family and I were wearing a mask. The problem lies when you look around and many of their store associates including the deli worker was not wearing one or was and not wearing it "properly". I honestly don't care if someone wears a mask or not, but to tell me I can not shop in the store if I am not wearing one? The hypocrisy! This Smith's could use a better selection of high-quality deli meats (specifically the Boar's Head brand) that is offered at other local Smith's stores. Also, they don't have much organic food. Specifically, they don't carry the organic yogourt that's carried at other local stores. read more

Smith was an American store, I never been to one since I arrived, but they were pretty big. This is where I go get American things like cheese and milk, they don't carry those at Asian stores. The girls were very fat here, not my cup of tea. read more
