Used to be a good grocery store but not anymore...then they remodeled...I believe the person that designed their store went to the Helen Keller school of design as you can't find crap in that store and when you do they most likely are out of stock. The reason given for closing the store at night was to restock...LIE!!! Now they aren't open 24 hours and you still have to dodge pallets of merchandise. I think Smiths (Kroger) is involved in either class based service or racism. Go to the Horizon Ridge store in Henderson or the Sandhill store...see the difference between the areas with a more Caucasian and higher per capital demographic and North Las Vegas...striking difference. Wow! out of the 5 reviews I see on here, only one is from a local! So now I will make it 2 local reviews. It's amazing how we take the little things for granted. You know, like gas stations and grocery stores. That's what makes Smith's special. 24 hour convenience! You never know when you might need milk or eggs or gas or medicine etc, at 2 in the morning. Since I live here, I didnt realize how many times I go here for not just the common things, but also for some of the oddest random things. Like one time my wife was craving pepperjack cheese at 2 in the morning and no she was not pregnant. In most cases, I not only get what is needed, but I also tend to get things that look very appealing, especially when it's on sale. Like namebrand cereals. Sometimes they have them 2 for 5 bucks. Hay, who doesnt like Coco Pebbles, Captain Crunch and Frosted Flakes? Regular prices are usually 4 bucks a pop! So when I see it on sale I stock up! Of course to get the discounts you gotta get a Smith's card! It's easy to apply cuz it only takes a couple minutes. You not only save money but all the money you spend equals points towards discounts when you gas up at the Smith's gas station adjacent to the store and yes its 24 hours as well. With gas prices the way they are, it's comforting to know that you can get discounts off of gas just by doing what you normally do by shopping. A special shout out goes out to the people that work here especially the swing and grave shifts. Most people dont want to be shopping for things at 2 in the morning let alone working all night! Smiths in North Las Vegas by Aliante Casino is a newer store, size wise fairly large with lots of variety. It's located in a very well manicured, tree lined neighborhood. Prices are like Albertson's on Ann and Simmons, but when they have sale items, it can be a really good deal if you have a Smith's rewards card. I stopped in here to pick up some groceries for my relatives. I didn't have a Smith's card, so I aksed the cashier at the self serve area gave me an application. Shoot me, but I didn't fill it out, I just took the cards and hoped it would give me the sale prices without giving away my email address - and it did. They are open 24/7 but so is the Wal Mart neighborhood store a mile away at Ann and Simmons and Winco and the big Wal Mart nearby off the 215 west. What makes this Smith's stand out from the two others in North Vegas is that this feels like a safer area, well maintained, and fairly well stocked, My brother who lives close to the aforementioned Albertson's prefers to come here whenever he shops. Same with me during my at least monthly trek to visit. The entrance puts you right into the produce area, very bright, well laid out area. It's not Smith's fault, but the produce in Las Vegas are mostly trucked in from LA, so they're not often that fresh. But I really think their produce is better than most places. I often see produce employees throwing out older produce that other grocery stores keep here in V egas. This being the fall season, there were about 7 varieties of apples, 4 varieties of pears, several citrus, and the usual vegetables, including some Mexican/Asian ones like Jicama and macho/burro bananas, greens, melons, preserved fruits (cranberries and blueberries) and nuts galore. In the late fall, I see things like Concorde Pears, a rarity that tastes like the expensive mail order dessert pears but at $2 a pound. Their meat prices were excellent this week with some rib steaks at about $4 a lb, some chicken legs/thighs at $1 a pound, and several other decent bargains. They have their in store K (Kroger) brands in sodas ($3 a 12 pack), veggies, etc. and this generic is fairlycheap compared to its name brand equivalent. I got some Russel Stover 1 lb. candy for $7, compared to $10 retail, The had lots of vitamin supplements at 2 for 1`. Everything was well until two fire fighters came in and did their shopping. A few women gushed when they walked by. It was fine with me, The women on the way to the cashiers stopped just long enough for me to pass them by and get checked out before them. There was a time when stores encouraged customers to get cash back when using debit cards as this reduced the amount of cash on hand, which would eventually have to be deposited. Now Smith's has found another way to nickel and dime its patrons by charging a $0.50 fee for the "privilege" of helping the store. Now there's one less reason to shop at Smith's. Fortunately, my bank allows free ATM withdrawals, even downtown and on the Strip. read more

I generally like this place and I regret giving a one star before giving the 4-5 star I would normally give. But all I can say is that this place has some nice and helpful workers but man that one old lady in the deli acted miserable. I was just browsing deciding what to eat in the morning. She looks at me and tells me the deli isn't open even though the rest of the staff have been telling me they are. So I stayed and wandered around to look for other things to get and periodically check, every time I get close to the deli the same old lady worker kept glaring at me. I keep asking if the deli is open with the other workers only to be told to ask the deli personnel. I admit that I should just ask but the deli personnel just would look annoyed and appeared very unapproachable and just in a bad mood and I don't really wanna ruin my morning cuz she looked like she was ready to give me some sass. I've been here before and have gotten food this early. It would've been nice to be told "we're not open" followed by a time when they open. But dang she didn't have to glare at me with that annoyed face every time I pass by looking at other stuff. read more

Got there a little late, wasn't sure if you guys were open or not. I walk in to security having a chat with employees. I literally walk in and no one says anything. All the sudden someone says rudely "What do you need!" Security decides to stop their little chat and come towards me like I'm trespassing. Tells me they are close and it feels like she is literally behind me escorting me out. Keep in mind this was 10:57 pm. I get it, its late, but if someone had simply said "I'm sorry, we are close" that would be enough. This review is for the bakery section alone. I ordered a cake for my son's birthday and when I went to pick it up it was far from what I ordered. It looks like a 6 yr old did it Im not gonna lie. I was so dissapointed the lady did admitted that it's not the same as what I ordered and asked if I want they can charge me $18 for it but they need to take out the toy. I was like what would I do to a cake that is already looked like a crap if they take out the truck toy. So I told her it's okay I'll just take it. Very busy location. I don't care much for this Smith's (prefer the one on Aliante) and only do stop here when I'm passing by and need something. Yikes where in the hell did all the people come from? It's like swap meet busy up in here. Since I only ever pop in for a thing or two, I use the self-check out registers and until the recent upgrade these things were slowwwww. On my most recent visit I went to get a donut from the bakery and most of the donuts appeared bitten into like someone took a bite out of several donuts and put them back. Gross. The produce area has fruits and veggies that do not look very appealing. It's a grocery store so you'll find the typical stuff you'd expect, but cleanliness and freshness mean something and this location isn't consistent with that. read more

I'm actually pretty surprised at the poor ratings of this grocery store. I've come to love Smiths now that I'm living so far away from any Sprouts or Whole Foods. This location is 24hours! (One of my favorite things) They have a great selection of organic produce and have a whole isle (yes a whole isle lmao) all for organic dry and frozen foods. They also have a good selection and pricing for organic chicken and bison. I love my gas points and am always surprised when I have .50c off ! You also get 10c off (I believe) just by using your card at the pump The employees have always been friendly here no matter if it's 5pm or 3am. I've been going to this Smiths for the past 10 years, and boy this place has turned into a shithole! There was a lady named FELICIA who literally only greeted black people. She gave me and my boyfriend attitude because we were in a hurry and needed to get going, and we were in self check out. She kept popping attitude. But a black man walked by and she said "have a wonderful day sir"everyone who wasn't black didn't even get a thank you. I called management because the place NEVER used to be run like this.The manager was insincere and is keeping Felicia on the company. this place is an absolute joke. Come here all the time with my wife. Normally never any issues. Came thanksgiving morning to pick up a few last minute items for the wife, as well as some alcohol for holiday festivities. I go to a cashier and load my stuff on the conveyer belt. The cashiers name was Judi if I am not mistaken. Taller middle aged blonde hair down near her shoulders. The first thing she says to me rather than greeting me is "can you get your ID out?" since she seen the alcohol - understandable. It is her job and I am completely fine with that. She starts ringing in my items. As I go to bag my items, she stops me and tells me that she needs to take the alcohol back, and that my ID was fake. I am a 25 year old married man and Assistant General Manager of another business. I am also the key employee for my own liquor license at my own establishment. I used a valid non expired Nevada state ID with the star logo on it meaning I had to show my social and birth certificate to the DMV to get that insignia. What I am trying to say is that my ID was 100% real and I am of age. I started out very confused, and got angry very quickly. The store was packed with people, and she continued to decline me the sale of the alcohol that I wished to purchase, telling me that it was a "good fake." She then passes it to another cashier named Sabrina if I am not mistaken, another middle aged older cashier. The other cashier then says "this isn't real, we are trained to look for fakes like this" in front of allllll these customers like I'm some hard headed kid with a substance abuse problem. At this point, I was completely upset and told them to call a manager to verify. I don't know anyone that would request management if their ID was actually fake. I am completely understanding of someone checking ID and doing their job, but please actually know what you are talking about before accusing a customer like this. Learn how to properly check ID's, especially in a store full of people to where you get this terrible attitude because you think you've made a bust. You didn't, and you were mistaken. She refused to sell it to me, and asked if I wanted my other items since I wasn't only buying alcohol. Judi continued to say that she wouldn't sell to me, and if someone else wanted to, then that's on them. Another cashier ended up checking my ID and confirming it was real, and sold me the alcohol. I asked her to tell Judi that there were no issues with my ID. I put my stuff in the car and came back to speak to a manager who confirmed my ID was real to another manager and a couple other employees. I've never been treated this way, and was very embarrassed. It put me in a terrible mood on Thanksgiving morning after a very long work week. I definitely won't let it dampen my holiday, but it was very disappointing and unprofessional. At my establishment, employees don't make those sorts of calls. If they are unsure, they seek the assistance of a supervisor which she failed to do, and I didn't speak to a supervisor at all until I approached one myself. Management was very helpful and attentive - this rating doesn't apply to them. Unfortunately, I did not get their names, but thanks for listening to my concern. Went in looking for steak! I wanted petite sirloin however there was only one two pack left and they were not good cuts. There was a man restocking the meats that approached me asking if I needed any assistance. I asked if he had any more two packs of petite sirloin and pointed at the only one left stating it didn't look good. He agreed and immediately took it off the shelf and grabbed a family size of petite sirloin and said go ahead and pick the two you want and I will separate it for you! Super great customer service for a supermarket. Usually if something is missing there is no more! I've been shopping a lot at Smiths lately for it's by far the best grocery store in Vegas. I get off work late at night and Smith being 24 hours is really convenient. They have absolutely everything I could ask for from a grocery store. Recently I wanted to get flowers for my girlfriend, it was 8pm and every florists was closed. I ended going to Smiths and one of the workers help put together an arrangement for her. The customer service was on point. It ended up perfect. Been going to this store since they first opened. Very friendly service, good store. Only thing I do not like is the fact that they do not have cashier lanes open in the morning (I believe before 8:00am) and the later evening. I live in VEGAS which means I do not have a normal 9-5 job, like a lot of people. My shopping is done a strange hours. I hate that if I want to buy a cart full of stuff I have to use the self check out. (Which is a pain if you have a lot of items) Or try to find a cashier willing to open a lane to check me out.
