To be honest, my experience with Smithtown Toyota was a roller coaster, but in the end they came through. I had been doing research for months on the RAV4 Hybrid and when they were finally released in March I began to research where I could get one. I wanted an XLE in blue flame, and began to realize they were harder to find and when they did appear in my searches, they sold quickly. Luckily, I found one and went to a local dealer to get a lease on it. It turned out, the one I found was still in port so they didn't have it yet, but we were able to come to a lease agreement and I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to arrive, but the salesman assured me that that was a long estimate and it would likely be sooner. At the 6 week mark, I called that other dealership and they told me the order hadn't been fulfilled--what order, I thought I had leased a specific car that they had found already manufactured? I began to research again and about two weeks later, I found a car that matched the exact specs I wanted at Smithtown. I called the original dealership and they told me if I had to go with another dealership then they understood (apparently they didn't want my business enough to put the work into a trade with Smithtown). I called Smithtown and was directed to the sales manager Alex. I told him what happened to me with the first dealership and he told me I could have the car at MSRP. My jaw dropped. I told him I had already agreed upon a deal with a local dealership that wasn't MSRP--no one pays MSRP for a car. He told me that if I could find a better deal locally then I should go to those dealerships and see if they'll swap. I said ok and went to another dealership in my area (that was a third dealership and different than the original one, of course) and they told me they have a working relationship with Smithtown and it shouldn't be hard to trade, but the saleswoman there also said if for some reason the trade isn't doable, she would do everything in her power to get us the car we wanted (much more than the first dealership tried to do). So we signed the paperwork. A few days later, we got a call from Alex and he offered us the car at a price less than MSRP (but still above what we had just agreed upon with the third dealership) I told him if he had offered that when we first spoke, we would have been driving our car leased from Smithtown already, but since he told me to look elsewhere, I did and agreed to a lease locally. At first he told me he wasn't going to allow a trade with the local dealership and that I wasn't getting that car, but after some discussion he came around and understood he had shot himself in the foot with us originally by offering MSRP and telling us to go elsewhere if we thought we could do better. Alex then set about getting a trade going with our dealer and we had our car up at our dealer within two days. Now we're driving it and it's everything we wanted in a car and we have Alex to thank for that! read more

So this terrible experience happened to me around August of this past year but i feel Like i should say something. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND that everyone stays away from this place. I came in to buy a 2017 Toyota Prius Prime and while I agreed with the salesperson on one price, they wouldn't honor the number and they tried to charge me a way higher (more than 200 dollars higher) than what was promised and agreed upon at their location that I signed on!!!! The entire time I was at work the day that I was supposed to pick up the car, I was getting 5-10 phone calls an hour from their idiotic finance staff trying to negotiate with me a price and it honestly made my car buying experience awful. When i arrived at the location, and met with their head of finance (Joe something) that is a complete and utter IDIOT by the way, he told me straight out "if you can't agree on our price and not what you were told, then maybe you should get another job so you can afford the car" with a sarcastic and condescending tone. Like who does he think he is? They also tried to literally screw me with the interest by overcharging me 4,000 over then what the bank was and as a finance major in school, I had to literally break out a calculator and show them what the real numbers were.. and how there were trying to literally STEAL more than 4,000 from me over 84 months.. like if a college student is kicking your ass in simple math, how much lower can you guys go? Later on I found out that they withheld money from my friend that worked for them for months and wouldn't pay him so he went to the Dept of Labor to make a report against them. This dealership is a complete disgrace and full of scumbags and I hope they go out of business. Shame on them!! (I went to a different Toyota dealership afterward and told them about my experience and they agreed that this location is known to be screwing people with the prices because when I told them the original price for the car that I was promised, the second dealership was able to not only honor it but to save me an additional $80 a month because when we did the math with the second dealership, the calculations were correct in my end and not Smithtown's end so the second dealer approved the price and saved me an additional 80) See what happens Smithtown when you don't screw people out of their prices? read more

I buy 2021 Toyota RAV4 limited model $43459.98 and we pay cash but some reason we can't registered the car same day so need to register few days and after when we have the registration I call for pick up the car sales person his name (seamus carey) he said we need time to detail the car so u can come tomorrow or any other day then next day we go to pick up the car sales person Seamus carey he was off who did the paper work so someone else help us but there is no rubber mats and carpet mat which is come with every single car and we buy fully loaded limited model with out any floor mats when ask that person he said I don't know u should ask next day to Seamus carey when he back to work next when call him he said mats not come with car if u want I can give you the price and u can buy from us day we buy they said we will give you the mats and this happened is first time with Toyota dealership I buy more than 15 Toyota car from millennium Toyota Franklin avenue Hempstead NY but not this time because they don't have fully loaded in stock they said if u wait one week we can get car for u but I can't wait but I think if I wait I think I get you better price with some discount like always not Smithtown Toyota they not give me either one penny discount and I think this is only reason because I pay cash that's why they don't care. read more

I had been dreading shopping for a new vehicle. However, I have to say, I had a really great experience at Smithtown Toyota. I met with Jillian to discuss lease options for the 2019 Rav4 and she was extremely informative. I explained that I was looking to get into a lease within the next one to three months and that I wasn't looking to make a deal that night. She still spent a lot of time with me discussing the various features of the vehicle, while answering all of my questions. She didn't apply any pressure whatsoever to make a deal on the spot. In fact, she was very friendly and easy to speak to. I returned to Smithtown Toyota two months later, and Jillian took me for a test drive. She answered all of my new questions and we arrived at a monthly payment amount that was affordable for me, while still getting me into the vehicle I wanted. I left a deposit that night, and four days later I received a call that my car was ready to be picked up. I'm surprised to see some negative reviews here, because my dealings with Smithtown Toyota really couldn't have gone any smoother. Prior to working with Jillian, I assumed the process would be incredibly stressful, but it was actually pretty painless. He took the stress out of trying to purchase a new vehicle and made the experience enjoyable and exciting. I had an awesome experience with Smithtown Toyota! Not only did I end up with an extremely reliable, certified pre-owned Toyota Rav4, but the customer service was excellent. The sales person provided me with the carfax and all the details about the car I was looking at without me having to ask, and walked me through the history of the vehicle and the maintenance I should expect to be doing. I was able to drive the car off the lot and get my paperwork processed in a matter of a couple days. I had a slightly complicated situation where I was buying the car in NY but needed to get it registered in MD since I was in the middle of an out-of-state move, and their Finance Director (John Ferranola) was able to liaise with the Maryland DMV clerks and get my license plates and registration mailed to me in a timely manner without me ever needing to set foot in the DMV. Finally, a car salesman/dealership that makes you want to buy car! I dread purchasing new cars because of the hard sell, the false pressure, the non-disclosing of pricing before the scope of the deal is revealed (including your finances). This is not the style of Smithtown Toyota salesperson, Ronnie Biz. He wants you to drive away happy and not have that nagging feeling that somehow after all that effort and negotiating-you've been had. He displays the inventory and let's you decide. He takes the time to sit with you in your new car and explains how to navigate the dashboard, including setting up Bluetooth, so you can call someone on your way home and share the good news. I just bought a new Tacoma from Smithtown Toyota. I traded in my old vehicle also a Tacoma. The trade they gave me was extremely fair, fast and with no nonsense. Jillian was the sales rep and pleasure to work with. Again, no nonsense and very little negotiating. She was one of the best salespeople I have ever worked with. Moving on to Ben the financial guy was also an excellent experience. He was honest, didn't try to sell me every other dealer installed item or service and just explained things honestly to me. He also worked with me on financing to find the best rate which happened to be through Toyota. I've bought two cars from this dealership and if you know exactly what you're looking for and have done your research you can be driving your new car home within a couple of hours. Both times I've dealt with them I was given a fair quote over the Internet beforehand, which was then honored when I actually came in. Unlike other dealerships there are absolutely no fees so you know exactly what you're paying for. Although Smithtown is a 45 minute drive from me it was worth it both times I did business with them and they will continue to be at the top of my list so long as I'm in the market for a Toyota. read more

I've been going to this dealer for many years and find the dealership very professional. My lower rating for this visit is due to the fact that they changed their policy effective 1/1/21 to charge 2.5% for credit card payments. It would have been great customer relations to communicate this at the time the appointment was made. Particularly with COVID, many people do not carry around cash - nor am I in the habit of walking around with my checkbook. I wait for the services and was not made aware of the new policy until it was time to pay the cashier. Bad customer relations. read more

I has some service work done for a side view mirror. I generally dislike interacting with car dealerships because I feel like I have to constantly protect myself from scams, but I have to say I was exceptionally happy with how straightforward it was. I sent a photo via email and they told me what the possibilities were and what each would cost. They ordered the parts in advance so they could get it done the same day.
