Although I purchased my RDX elsewhere I've been utilizing Smithtown Acura as I'm local for the past two years for maintenance. Staff has always been pleasant, professional, customer service oriented and knowledgeable ( Geovany and Patrick from service and Zackarya from parts in particular). Patrick in particular took time to research and upload from CarFax the certified maintenance that was completed on my RDX that I purchased from another dealer ( limited availability of cars back in 2021). Thus eliminating the numerous maintenance reminders when coming in for oil changes. Free car washes are a nice benefit as well. I was even able to get oil changes for my Honda as well when I could not get an appointment with that dealership. Although I have not utilized the car sales department the showroom is well maintained. Overall great service from excellent staff. read more

From the very beginning it was a very stress free environment. I did not have much time on this visit but Anthony answered any initial questions I had. I called him to later that week to set up a test drive and start to talk $. Once I determined what color specs he coordinated the ordering. I was supposed to take delivery in sept but Anthony was able to work some magic and I took delivery on 8/5. I WAS SHOCKED TO READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS I READ HERE! I, and my family have gotten many Acuras from Smithtown Acura. We have been dealing with them for more than 15 years and have NEVER run into the 'problems' I read here! Most of my time has been spent with Anthony and Greg. From the first time I walked into the dealership they couldn't have been nicer. I don't live nearby so I haven't serviced my Acuras there but I have met the people in service and they have always been friendly and helpful. The recent Covid-19 pandemic has created problems everywhere that none of us living today could have ever imagined. A trip to the grocery store is a three act play. Buying or leasing a new car was impossible for months until the dealerships were allowed to re-open and that is a much more complex operation made even more difficult when carried on over the phone. My experience with Acura and Lexus and Mercedes and pretty much every brand of car has been this: If there is a small blemish on a leased car they usually make a note of it so the lessee doesn't get charged for it as 'damage' at the end. If the car was purchased an allowance is usually made to make up for the inconvenience (maybe a free oil change or something). I once leased an Acura that they swapped in from another dealership and it arrived with a chip in the window. They tried melting it out first. It distorted the glass so they replaced the windshield. Regarding 'electrical' problems: I am sorry to report the more advanced the electronics get in cars to more problems arise. The only thing worse than a total failure is an intermittent failure which isn't always picked up by the onboard computer. It is not fair to blame the service department in all cases nor should a service department or a dealership, for that matter, automatically be let off the hook. All of us, myself included, use reviews to judge where we want or do not want to do business. I felt I must respond here because in my experience over a number of years with a fair number of cars Smithtown Acura is one of the better dealers. Anyone can have a bad day (in business its often broadcast through a megaphone!). Generally speaking, I have found any problems to be resolved quickly and honestly. We just purchased our third car from Smithtown Acura from Anthony who has always been stellar. We live in the Bronx so by no means is Smithtown the closest dealer to us by any means (50 minutes). My wife is a nurse and had been taking the subway to Brooklyn which has given me great anxiety during this pandemic, so we decided to buy an ILX from them. I hit Anthony up and he sets up a good deal. I go pick up the car and they have the car prepped and have the car in the garage for social distancing. The process was very fast, almost too fast since we never go through the car. On my way home I notice the silver trim on the steering wheel has two chips in the paint. I send Anthony an email and text and he responds quickly saying the service department will fix free of charge, but it must be done at their facility. Okay, disappointing that a brand new car has marks already on it and I have to drive another 50 miles there and back, but I call the service department and Luanne is very nice and says they will order the parts and to come in on Saturday. I go in with my wife and the whole time a person in the parts department is complaining about being there and cursing the whole time. Not the highest end experience but either way after an hour we are told the car has been washed and we are good to go. We get into the car thinking everything is perfect and I look to the left side of the steering wheel and they have butchered the left silver trim now even worse than the right side and they now scratched the A-SPEC badge. At this point I am furious, and we drive back, and I demand to know who installed this with little care. A tech comes out and says they will order the parts but that is all they can do and then Luanne who is very sweet says how about we take the whole wheel off a loaner. They show us the loaner car and tell us to inspect the wheel and to my eyes the wheel looked fine. They change the steering wheel and we are told to go out and examine it and now there are little indentations on the leather like fingernails or someone torqued down on it. At this point my wife lost it and someone from maintenance came out to explain how this is "100% normal" and how days in the sun would fix this. Whether this is true or not, the fact is Smithtown sold me a car with existing minor cosmetic damage, then when trying to fix it caused even more damage, and even when they tried to solve that they still provided us with a car and experience that wasn't 100% great. To be fair my experience with Anthony has always been very good and Luanne is a sweet person, but whoever prepped the car should have caught this before selling it to me especially in these crazy times where I can't examine and test the car myself beforehand and number two whoever did the installation needs to be more careful and can't return cars to the customers like this. I am thankful for Smithtown for being semi operational and providing a car for my wife even in they crazy times, but the standards of the service and quality of products should not be compromised. Here's a story for the record books. The new 2002 MDX first comes out and is the Motor Trend car of the year. My wife needs to lease a new car and she wanted a 3rd row. We walk inside and the salesperson was a BALLBAG (His name was Bill) He throws a sheet at us and says, write your name on the list and give me a check. There's a wait list for the car and no lease deal. Dude, I'm friggin BillySalts! So, I call every dealer in the tristate area. (Curry Acura, WTF?) He's correct. Everyone wants this car. No one seemed interested in coming over and seeing what I wanted, or even if I wanted to buy one of these cars... strange. I have been dealing with Acura of Smithtown for the past 6 years and let's just say I ended that relationship. Please don't go to John Schepp! He's rude and a sore loser. The second time I went to lease a car with them I was never asked what I wanted. When I told him I wanted a RDX he looked at my like I had multiple heads. I ended up in a 2020 Acura tlx. Mind you the spare key I was given was not the right one for my car. I was never contacted by John (who had my spare key sitting in his draw) to come pick up my key. I had to walk up to John and say hey is that you and had the nerve to ask me why I didn't say anything the three times he walked past me. Didn't know I worked there. He tired putting me in the lowest Acura model they had which I was not happy about at least try and put me in a TLX. Which I had for the past 6 years. I explained to him that the other two leases I had were with my mom and that this time I was doing it all on my own. He ignored that whole conversation. I explored my options and then went to Acura in Bayshore as soon as I walked in I was greeted. John told me to come pick up the car on Monday. Later on in the week he kept calling me telling me we have a problem because the plates were registered to my mom. This is what I explained to him before agreeing on the car. He the goes and charges my card 500 when I told him 200 he came back and said I made an error I'm used to 500 deposits . LOL I don't even know how much my insurance would've been for that car. He was mad because I needed up getting a RDX from bayshore for a better deal. His sales manager Greg called me and was very nice and asked what was going on. Bought a 2011 TSX Wagon from Anthony and got a great deal on it. Did all the negotiating via email, which I appreciated, and just went in to sign the papers. Only service it needed was regular maintenance. The service department was always staffed with courteous folk who always did their best to get us in and out quickly. In fact, on a holiday week we had to take a trip to NH and I wanted to get better tires on the car because they were expecting snow (the car didn't come with very good tires). They managed to fit me in at the last minute and I really appreciated that. Our trip up in the snow was uneventful thanks to them going the extra mile. When the Acura was totaled in an accident a year later (another driver blew a light), we did price shopping on a new Acura. Again, we got no-BS quotes from Anthony (thanks to our broker, I know what Smithtown paid for the car), and although we decided to go with a Jeep, it wasn't because we had anything less than high praise for Smithtown Acura and its staff. I visited this car dealership looking for a car. I went inside and was greeted by the receptionist that said" what are you guys doing here". I then told her I'm looking for a car that I saw online and that I would like to take a look at the car, then she went to get the car salesman and he came outside and stared at us for like 5 min without a greeting and said what did we want ? Then I proceeded to greeting John and said I was interested in taking a look at the car I saw on the online listing, he went inside and got the keys and the receptionist was watching us the whole time. Let me begin by saying that this is the dealership that offered me the best deal on my car, and as far as the vehicle goes, i couldn't be happier. However, I came all the way from NJ, a 2 hour drive to this dealership. My salesman Dan Watts was AWFUL, had a disinterested, condescending, lazy attitude during the entire experience. He didn't seem like he cared if he sold me the car at all, when they knew I was looking to buy that day. Once we agreed upon a number and the car was being "prepped" my mother and I waited HOURS without being told what was going on etc. The entire staff was just rude and had zero customer service skills whatsoever. They just kept telling us it would be done "soon." Didn't know soon was 4 hours. Oh, and let me also say their genius staff registered my car to the wrong person, with a similar last name. I didn't notice this until I was pulled over and we realized the discrepancy a month later. It took them close to 2 months to resolve the issue, and I had to practically BEG them to handle it. I am extremely shocked that a company like this would hire a "child" who has absolutely not one professional bone in his body. His name is JOHN SCHEPP. I was working on prices between Smithtown Acura and Island Acura. over the phone since the showrooms are closed. We worked out price and car details (Options/Colors). I explained I needed a specific color: black. He said, "done." I wanted to make the deal right away. I texted him later on about adding black rims. He mentioned, BTW, black isn't available. So I said when we made the deal I said I needed black and you told me "done." He wrote back "not happening" I took that as rude and didn't follow up. Also, if I couldnt get what I wanted why would I continue the conversation. I am the consumer, as we all are at some point. The next day I signed with a real gentleman named Rocky at Island Acura. Everything is as promised. Greg from Smithtown who was very nice, and who I spoke to before John, emailed me asking for the credit app that was emailed after verbally making the deal So I kindly wrote back "sorry I couldn't get what I wanted so I signed with Island Acura. Please stay safe" That same day I was on conference calls all day back to back. John was calling and with all of my company's valuable information, I couldn't answer John's calls. He called 6 times and the last time, he left a message which is saved in my phone. John, in short said, "don't hide behind your phone you P........ and call me back, ASSHOLE." I was so shocked and called him back after I finished work, only to listen to him threaten me and my family life. I am speaking to people to see how I will act upon this. Anthony did not rush me, he instead took my fiancé and I through multiple cars and tried to find things that were within our budget. He sat with me and showed me how he got to all of the numbers without any hidden fees or made up financing percentages like I was experiencing in other places. Rick Shaffer offered me a $150 credit towards my down payment. Karen "up sold" me running boards when I was in the finance office. When I decided to return the running boards the next day, they said I would receive a refund of $179. When I got the check in the mail, it was for $29. I got no explanation for this prior or after I called to ask why it was short. I asked Karen and Rick for copies of the bills and never heard back from anyone. Also, the amount of money that was returned to me in the form of a lower monthly payment does not equal the cost of the items I returned so I have no idea where that money went either and cannot seem to get any explanation. It seems pretty obvious they used the opportunity of me having to sign a new lease agreements as a way to take more profit out of the deal. I feel completely deceived and they also treated me like a criminal for even calling to ask about the money. Big mistake leasing from this dealership when I live closer to Ralley and Huntington Acura. These are the people that give car salesman and buying cars a bad name. Extremely rude. I originally brought my car in to get some recalls taken care of and a simple oil change. They were very nice at first, no problem with a loaner car etc. I was prepared to discuss and buy a returned lease once recalls were taken care of, as I stated to the service department before leaving, along with which car i was interested in. I received a phone call saying my car would be PUSHED into the lot, because my oil change needed a $164 part or it was not driveable?! Yeah, okay. All said and done, I returned to pick up my vehicle and they were very rude, not interested in discussing returned leases with me. Handed me my keys and proceeded to point in the direction around the back, had me walk to get my car, rather than pulling it up front for me. I had a maintenance service done at Smithtown Acura. They gave me the best price out of all the Acura dealerships on Long Island, customer service and the facility was very welcoming. I totally would recommend this Acura dealership and will be a repeat customer. HOWEVER, I just realized that replace my license Plate frames from " Raylle Acura" to "Smithtown Acura" without my consent and I was not communicated about this whatsoever while I was at the dealership. The service department rep said that he would not located a rack and pinion for my car, he said my part number is not correct and I even give him a reference number. It is straight from service manual. This guy is not helpful. I made the mistake of purchasing a new Acura from Smithtown Acura. I was a 5 time previous owner of Infiniti but decided to give a different vehicle a try so I went to Smithtown Acura. It's been almost 2 weeks and I never received copies of ANY documents. Not to mention, I never received any instructions on the vehicle operation! I can't hook up my phone, I can't find where anything is and for some reason I can't get the Navigation to turn on let alone operate.. I called my Salesperson and he doesn't even have the decency to respond to my calls.. Where's my sales folder? I received nothing but a spare key in a plastic bag! Do not go to Smithtown Acura. Worst service department EVER! Not once but twice I was told a service was performed when it wasn't. They are all liars and extremely rude. Peggy is incredulously rude, and the only thing professional about Jeff the service manager is that he is a rude and professional liar. I will never return to this dealership. I had taken my car in for service - I was told they rotated my tires, but when I got home I saw they weren't rotated. I called and they did refund my credit card , but that doesn't negate the fact that they lied. I knew this because I had a small tear in the rubber on one of the tires. I was told at the following maintenance that that tire needed to be changed. I agreed, but I told them I wasn't prepared to change it at that visit, and told them I would let them do it at my next maintenance. (I bring my car in for maintenance as soon as the light goes on). I returned there for my next scheduled maintenance on 5/13/20 and told them they could to go ahead and change the tire now- they said they did, so I paid for it and left never checking their work because we were in the middle of Covid19 and I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible . Unfortunately, I did not notice the tire with the tear in it had not been changed until 5/22 while washing my car. I called to complain and spoke with Peggy who was extremely condescending and rude- she said Jeff would call me back. Jeff called me back, and once again lied and told me the tire they changed had a bubble in it, I know for a fact it did not have a bubble in it. They changed the wrong tire, and said there was a bubble in the tire they changed but never showed me where the bubble was. Bottom line is they can not be trusted and everyone at Acura including the person I spoke to at head quarters is insanely rude. Unacceptable!! Pretty car and I was planning on leasing another one once this lease was up, but that is not happening! There are plenty of good cars to choose from. Looks like my time with Acura is up!! Very unpleasant experience. Was in communication with a representative who continually sent messages for good deals available since I was in the market for a lease. Finally after getting maybe close to something I could work with I called to see if there could be a better offer and only then I would come in since the dealership is more than 35 miles from my home. I was assured just like in emails that a visit always results in better results and my Costco membership would also get even better numbers. WithIn minutes of my reaching another representative sat with me and basically told me outright that even the quoted number was not a possibility and that I should accept an offer I already had from another dealer. We have used this Smithtown Acura for 12 years. We lease a new car every 3 years. The last time we went into this dealership to lease a new car, quite frankly, we were treated like garbage. The dealership is always short staffed and the staff who were there, were rude and made me feel like an inconvenience. Due this this awful experience, we took our business to Acura of Huntington. This dealership provided us with amazing service and kind staff; the optimal car buying experience. The best part is, later in the year, we used Smithtown Acura for service as it is closer to our home. I took my car in with the Acura of Huntington license plate frame a fixed, and it was returned after an oil change with the Smithtown Acura license plate frame. LOL! I guess the soar losers of this deal didn't think we'd notice. Don't worry, I changed them back!
