Fabulous service!!! I was taking my 2019 Equinox in for an emissions recall and requested a loaner car, super easy! But I guess my working 10-11 hours every day for the last month I showed up on the wrong day. I apologized and was embarrassed and said I'll just see you again tomorrow however when the assistant manager heard this he said just leave your car we'll do it today. When I explained I couldn't wait the hour and needed to be at work that I could just return the next day, he said no worries, they could drive me to work and even deliver my car later at my office building! Poor customer service. Made an appointment on May 18 of 2023 for an oil change. I have asked the device adviser Michael if it was possible to get a ride to work, he said sure and told me where to wait as I was waiting. I found myself waiting for 20 mins then I went inside again to remind a staff member that I was still waiting then the gentleman said he will be right out. So I went back waiting no one. So then they called again for a staff member to come I wait another 15 mins and then i realized i was going to be late for work so I kindly asked the service adviser for my key back for my car and he did like no care in the world. You would think if one day you walked into H & L Chevy and that same day you least a brand new equinox's that the dealership would treat you fairly good. Not at H and L Chevrolet in Darien. In a nutshell there is a odor that the car emits into the cabin. H & L say they don't smell anything and they can't recreate the odor. But they changed the cabin filter added screws and a few other things. But they don't smell anything. From the salesperson that sold me the car up to and including the owner Adam there has been nothing but nonsense to say the least. The service here is very good but I just wish they would be better about mask wearing in the office during this time. I'm on the younger side but so many older people go there and it's not safe for them to have to face unmasked people at the service desks. read more

Recently picked up my Camaro from this dealer which had a new motor put in it due to some warranty situations. The old motor needed to be replaced and the new motor was put in by their engine tech Nick. He did an amazing job. the car runs amazing and now i will not take my car to anyone but him for service. All oil changes will be happening there now especially since that's where the new motor was installed. I can't stress enough how great this service department is at this dealer. Got my car back in the same condition i gave it to them in and it was there for almost 2 months. Its extremely hard for me to trust a dealer with my car after having had a bad experience with another CT chevy dealer that i will never go to again. Andrew a Nazi are the best and nick was amazing. Here's why I will never go back to H&L Chevrolet: their service department is totally dishonest - slimy. They quoted me $500 for a simple, 10 minute part swap (I know because I then bought the $18 part and did it myself.) The cost to diagnose the problem? $100. Then the guy tried to convince me that I was missing a few bolts somewhere in the undercarriage. The cost? $275. There was nothing missing. These guys are just not to be trusted. read more

Took my car here and requested an oil change, tire rotation, wiper blade change, and to get a clicking sound my climate control system was making fixed. Instead I got "maintenance package 1," the clicking sound not fixed, and charged $160. Take your car here if you want to be overcharged for basic maintenance and not have your problems fixed. Otherwise I would avoid it. It's your stereotypical dealership service department doing their best to oversell and charge you on services you don't need (part of my "package" was a 25 point inspection on my 1 1/2 year old car - I found out my windshield is in 'ok' condition!). As long as the work you need done isn't under warranty, save your money and go to an independent auto shop. read more

Accessibility to loaner cars-A BIG DEAL FOR ME While I have coming to H&L for years to service our vehicles I was blown away last week when I walked in without having requested a loaner (had planned on waiting for routine service) and because of my client obligations unexpected needed a loaner. Service receptionist told me the 6 loaners were already scheduled to be out. Adam overheard and told her "give her a loaner-if a customer needs a loaner, you give it to them-we'll deal with making sure all the customers get loaners later." I really thought his respond was epic. To have a perceived problem (my not being able to get to client meeting) solved in an instant and without drama won my loyalty for a very long time. read more

I can honestly say I've never been more disappointed in my life. The first time I brought my car in to get fixed (at 9 am) they didn't call to tell me that they didn't fix it until 5pm because my check engine light had gone off. Well, of course the check engine light came back on, and when I went to get it fixed the second time (today) I dropped it off at 9 am only to have to call them to check the status, and for them to say "oh, um they already left". I NEVER complain about customer service because I am probably one of the easiest people to get along with on this planet, but I am so upset that I am stuck in Darien tonight without a car because this dealership couldn't keep in touch with me. I live in Seymour. No ride. No clothes. And work tomorrow morning. All I ask for is a simple phone call or SOME type of communication. That's it. Thank you for nothing. Worst dealer EVER. We brought our car in with a sunroof that would stick from time to time (we had to push the button twice to close it) they returned it to us broken. The receipt noted that they had "lubricated" the sunroof and it was working fine. The first time we used it it jammed open. When we brought the car back they said it would require a new sunroof unit for $1800. We contacted Chevrolet who jerked us around a bit before telling us there was nothing they could do. Just because the sunroof was working when we brought it in and broken when it was returned was NOT proof that the dealer had broken it. We declined their off of $2K off a new Blazer. After 35 years as a Chevy customer, I would NEVER buy a Chevrolet again. read more

I recently was searching all over the east coast for a Toyota Sienna Limited model van and this dealership out of 3 that I dealt with was the only one who wanted to help close the deal..they were professional, fast and made the entire transaction worth me driving 2.5 hrs from my home to their location. 2 other Chevrolet Dealerships that I dealt with that had this certain van on their lot need to take lessons from H & L since their vans are STILL for sale.!!! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. My Trailblazer, which I love, has performed beautifully for 5 years. Lately it felt like the engine was struggling. My usual dealer in Stamford was booked so I went to Darien. The service rep. told me that the mechanic said I needed new transmission fluid and driving fluid on top of the usual tune-up. My bill was $922.00! I drove off the lot and my car was still struggling even at low speeds. The mechanic never even tried to diagnose it. I had to beg the Stamford shop to see me before a long holiday weekend b/c I just can't afford to go back to a shop that has no clue what it is doing. In Stamford, they replaced a wheel baring that had gone bad. It would have been dangerous to be on the highway without the repair. If you want competent people go elsewhere. read more

I brought my 2015 Tahoe in for an A/C repair on 5/18. At first,the service guy thought it would be a week/week and a half for the part (leaky condensor) Over 4 weeks now and they still don't have the part. Apparently there is not a single condensor to be found in the entire country. They have not called to update me - I have had to call them to find out what is going on. With the rain and the extreme heat, my car is not driveable. Since I bought the car there they gave me a loaner for 24 hours and their only concern was getting that car back asap! read more

It's a small store. It's dark and dingy. It could use better colors and lighting. They had a sold 2016 Equinox on the showroom floor in mid-2017 along with a Cruze and a couple of other cars. The showroom holds 4 cars. There was nothing remarkable about what was on the floor...maybe the other two were a Malibu and a Sonic. You'd think in a market that sells loads of Tahoes, Suburbans, and Silverados, those would be front and center. But no, they showcased an already-sold Equinox from '16 while the newly designed '18s were hitting floors. I walked in here one day with my wife looking to buy a Tahoe. We were ready to buy that day if the deal was fair, but I couldn't get anyone to even look up from their desk to help me. I could look beyond the yellow showroom as long as someone looks up and is willing to give me the time of day. I'm not quite sure how they sell cars here, unless it's all by internet and phone. I hung around for about 3 minutes and then just walked out. read more

Took my Daughter's Yukon here for a complete check over prior to her embarking on a cross country trip. Several thousand dollars later, it was pronounced "good to go". Had to sink another $1200 into it once she reached Washington to fix things they hadn't. Took my Suburban in for an oil change last Saturday. They noticed a tapping noise from the engine, diagnosed the problem and told me they needed at least 2, probably 3 days to fix. Left it with them. When we hadn't heard anything from them on by Wednesday, my husband called and was told they would get back to him. they never did. When I called they said they "were trying to get it done by Friday" Had already told them we were leaving for vacation then and going in this car. Went and retrieved it from them Thursday morning and they hadnt done a single thing about the problem. Stuck here at home with no car and its sitting in their shop. Will never take a vehicle to them again. Given the fiasco with GMC and the ignition problem cover up, obviously there is a "couldn't care less" attitude pervading the whole organization.
