The food is great! Simple fare and tastes home cooked! They fix my breakfast every morning, just wished they were open on Saturdays!

I'm from out of town and my son who lives in Raleigh really wanted me to go here so we drove almost…read morean hr and a half to go here, and I'm so glad we did. It was a Thursday and very busy but no so busy we had to wait very long. Just good to see all kind of people really for some BBQ. The food was fantastic and I loved the sides. I'm a big Cole slaw fan and this was very finely shopped up slaw with amazing flavor. They leave the crispy skin in the pork to give you these little yummy surprises as you eat. Plenty of room in the dinning area and a covered outdoor picnic table area.

Turned out I didn't care for most of the sides…read more December Friday evening 5pm. The place was empty. Chicken- they were out of dark meat. Chicken breast half was moist and tasty. I did like their sauce and this part of my meal. Coleslaw- too sweet for me. Nice texture. Potato salad- didn't care for it. Slightly to sweet. Corn cake- sorry but what is this burnt dense piece of square? I couldn't finish it. Banana pudding- had good flavor but I really struggled with the mushy texture and brown color here. Pork Bbq- hubby reported good taste and texture but was very room temp. Could have stood to be hotter. I guess sitting out on the wood block doesn't help. For me, not a great value. When you only enjoyed 1 of the 5 things you ate, that is a low rating automatically. Service- friendly and quick. As soon as we sat down, there was a homeless guy begging for food. This was upsetting because we don't know this individual or knew what intentions he had. Just came out of nowhere into the dining room. Not sure if the employees noticed while they were cleaning up the kitchen. Play back the camera feed. What if I was alone without my hubby. Very unsettling!!!!! We won't be back,

I'm visiting Greenville with my fiancé and he said we needed to come here for the brisket. We share…read morethe brisket plate with mac and cheese and I had to try all the sauces. They make them all in house. I've never added vinegar to my meat before and I'm hooked. They have this Alabama white sauce that you have to ask for and that was done so well. All the sauces were tasty. I tried their sweet tea and I'm very particular about sweetness with drinks but I thoroughly enjoyed the balance in their tea. The seasonal treat is strawberry shortcake so I ordered that and there was so much balance in their flavor. I'm partial to strawberry shortcake because it was what I often shared with my late Grandpa. I was so impressed with how good this was and it definitely added nostalgia to the experience. The service here was phenomenal and the place has so much memorabilia honoring service members. Very open and welcoming space. Lots to take in, but not overwhelming. I'm definitely glad we stopped in. 10/10 recommend if you're in the area.

The Mac and cheese and the cornbread were my favorite sides. This bbq is the best in the area. My favorite sauce is the Memphis Belle which is the most comparable to a typical store bought bbq sauce (thicker not vinegar based). It wasn't busy when we went but I have heard it gets busy on the weekends! The restaurant is casual and has plenty of seating!

So, this year we tried someone new. Marty's. The food was exceptionally made. I ate things I normally haven't liked all my life, tried it, and fell in love and wanted MORE! My favorite was the BBQ pork! Are you kidding me? And then add their sauce on top.....COME ON......I was FLOORED! I am hoping with all my might there is some extra we can take home. However, I doubt it because everyone ate UP! The service was great. Very accommodating and professional. I hope we will continue to use them!

The good news ... from what they had to offer, the food was quite tasty. The bad news ... the offerings were limited. From what we saw on the menu, it seemed to be mostly chicken (with a lot of it fried) and some chopped pork. Now I know this is the Carolinas so brisket may not be an option. But the pig is so revered I thought we would see that offered a number of ways, and at least see some baby back ribs on the menu. Not sure this place is named properly as I expected to see more BBQ than anything else on the menu, and that is simply not the case.
