We got the pulled pork and chopped brisket, cornbread, mac n cheese, baked beans and a bottle of sauce (included). We felt the value for amount of food was great, and I loved that they included smaller containers of most, if not all, of their sauces so we could try them! The corn bread was great, a couple pieces were pretty dark but still warm and fresh. The baked beans, for me, was a highlight! They were so good, whatever sauce they're cooked in was SO good, I ended up dipping my pulled pork/ brisket into that instead of the sauces!! So good!!! Our kids liked the Mac n cheese, we thought it was pretty good too! Loved that the pulled pork came with no sauce, made it super easy to portion it out for my husband and keep it fresh. Thee brisket came sauced, but the flavor was really good so we were fine with that! Overall, we'd definitely do this once in a while. It was about $90 total for the family meal, which is a little steep for a regular family meal. But flavor was great, everything was fresh, and we very much enjoyed it and will have leftovers for days!!

It was delicious. Would definitely get it again. My only complaint is the potato was not piping hot. Next time I'll send it back, but I was hangry, y'all! That said, I'll get it again. Half and half tea was on point, and the sweet potato roll was delish as normal. The staff is friendly and helpful, and will trade happy smart remarks with you if you're so inclined. The fellow who helped us was kind to my retired schoolteacher mom...and that ALWAYS wins in my book. It's a bit noisy, but to be expected...and we're always glad to see the is place busy and full! Take your late day hangry rear end to Sam Jones today, just get there before the evening rush on Monday and Tuesday if you want brisket! Well done!

You walk right past the giant smokers to go in. Order and pay at the counter and food is delivered to the table. Great choices of sides and several sauces on tables. The good is great and slaw and BBQ was delicious! We're loving our BBQ trek across North Carolina.

If you have never been, this place has quite the unique decor. Signed dollar bills are all over the walls, and bras are hanging everywhere as well. I like the back of a old Lincoln automobile above the beer dispenser. It looks like a dive bar, but it's actually a southern chain of about 20 locations. The food menu is burgers and fries, with create your own burger options plus specialty burgers. I ordered the GREG BRADY Burger, topped with house-made Mac N' Cheese, American cheese and Martin's BBQ potato chips plus a side of fries. Order was brought to the table with a surprisingly short wait. This was a delicious choice! Quite the flavor combination. My server and another employee kept a good check on me to see if I was enjoying the food and if I needed anything. You need to be aware that Dickenson Ave. is in a construction project that may make getting there or parking a bit more challenging.

There's a line...let me jump in!…read more Yep that's literarily how I found this spot...I was driving back to Charlotte after my half marathon...saw a line, pulled over and stood in the hour long line, happy as a 4 year old with a lollipop with my bag of BBQ. This is a carry out or eat outside spot. The line was long, but they said it was because the chicken wasn't ready. They serve Carolina vinegar based "sauce". This was the most different part for me as I'm from Indiana and have never had vinegar based sauce. All in all it was very good and I completely understand why it has been a community staple.

Things to know before going: 1) Cash only…read more2) Take-out only. There are a few tables outside, though. 3) Get there early, as in 9:30 or 10am. When they sell out, they close. If you wait until normal lunchtime you may very well be out of luck. So, the food. If you don't like Eastern Carolina style vinegar based whole hog bbq you will not like B's. Therefore no complaints about "sour" sauce, "tasteless" boiled potatoes, strange "potato sticks," or lack of sugary sweet tomato sauces will be tolerated. The cue is slow cooked over charcoal. Today the texture was a bit tougher than ideal but the flavor was pretty good and the chicken was very good, moist, tender, and flavorful. The sides are unremarkable but just fine. I'm normally not a big fan of the east of Wilson area corn sticks (give me hush puppies and honey butter any day) but B's are among the better ones. Prices remain more than reasonable and servings are generous.

Pros-The team over at Parker's were awesome. There was a chance of snow and the Parker's team stayed in contact. They even offered a catering contingency plan in the event of inclement weather. On the day of the funeral the team arrived on time, the food was hot and the team did a great job serving. For 100 people, chairs and tables, drinks and full service the prices was reasonable and fair. Cons: The serving sizes were extremely small, nothing like what you get when you order Parker's at the restaurant. Probably about half that. They were really strict on not giving people extras. For example, 2-3 hush puppies person. You want hush puppies and corn sticks....forget about it! They also did not leave the left over BBQ and sides behind once the event is over. The reason was thy brought enough to serve 100 people and a few extra servings so they would not run out. If I wanted the left over BBQ that would have been an additional charge. Although that is listed as a con, it is something that could have been avoided had I asked the correct questions. It was definitely a damper because what I paid for I do not believe I received. I would not use Parker's again for catering or if you plan to have 100 people, order catering for 150-200 based on their serving sizes. To end on a positive note, the food was delicious and the team was very responsive. Once they packed up the remaining food they offered to bring it back for an additional fee. I wasn't happy about that but it was my dad's funeral and I refused to let BBQ and slaw sour an already stressful day.
