Terrible service, I went in on Monday for there $4 cheese pizza dine in deal sat down at 7pm to walk out and leave at 7:47 because 2 other groups that order after me was served 4+ pizzas and whatever else well me and my girlfriend waited basically a hour for a small cheese pizza which takes 20 mins, didn't come out to say anything about the long wait and walked around us like we was ghosts and it wasn't busy the restaurant had maybe 20% tables full and the rest was sitting at the bar real quality service if you ask me, I haven't been here in years won't be coming back again, I added the Life360 screenshot to show my wait read more

We called in two pizzas and two Greek salads. It was a Wednesday night but this local "Cafe'" was buzzing. Lots of people enjoying delicious food and drinks. The pizzas were great thin and crispy real bar pizza. The salads were also large and tasty. I can only guess what this place is like on a busy weekend. To begin this review I would like to establish some credibility. I I'm 21 and have worked in the restaurant business for the last 7 years of my life, including 2 pizza restaurants. A friend and I came in around 12:30 on a Sunday, and the restaurant was mostly empty. We ordered our pizzas and waited just under 55 minutes until they came out. During this time no one apologized for the wait or even asked us if we were ok. When the pizzas came out they were lukewarm, to the point where the cheese solidified and there was no pull what so ever. As for the taste, it was pretty mediocre nothing special what so ever. We came here because of the Portnoy review of 7.9, not sure what kind of money they had to pay him for that but it's beyond me. Several other tables also waited an obnoxiously long time for their pizzas, I've never had a worse experience in a restaurant in my life and this is my first time leaving a bad review anywhere but I felt as though this place deserved it. Save your time and your money and get a pizza from cumbies, which trust me will be better than the Central Cafe. The only redeeming quality was the ambiance, which was kindda cool. On a Tuesday I called it in and they said 30 minutes so I walked over in 35 minutes paid $17 and tipped $3 for pick up and they said it'd "be ready soon" waiting over 15 minutes and got cold quahog and coagulated cheese on a taco salad - gross - i threw it all out. It took a few tries to realize this place is for pizza only. Their pizza isn't to bad. It's a bar style with a ok sauce. The fish and onion ring batter is a cornmeal batter that I'm not a fan of. Based on Portnoy's review, we visited on a Saturday. If you've never been here, it's just perfect. It's not bright or shiny, but just like your pair of worn pajamas that fit just right. Had to put 1 star to leave review. Have been patronizing this place for 10+ years and have never had a single issue. Tonight we went in, not busy plenty of empty tables. Ordered 1 pizza, chef salad and boneless wings, so far so good. Asked for our salad to come first. 30 minutes in, still no salad so asked server about it, she came back said there was an issue with their POS system order didn't send. Ok, it happens. Place is filling up now. Food (salads and pizza) going to other tables who came in after us, getting aggravated, asked again, she said she told us about the order issue which at this point, almost an hour is no excuse. Our order should have been pushed to the front of the line. Finally the salad comes. Meanwhile people that came after us have eaten and left. Salad done, 20 minutes later we ask about our food, very aggravated at this point, asked for manager she comes over, hubby very angrily explains issue, she apologizes along with server and explains about new POS system, still no excuse, where's our food? We're at 1 hour 20 minutes waiting. She said she would discount our meal, we say no, she asked what she can do, I say GET OUR FOOD. At this point a 12 year old kid (owner son?) steps into our discussion tries to explain how busy it is, Frank tells him to mind his own business. He had no place dealing with an angry customer, and especially when he wasn't there for the entire issue. MYOB. Suddenly we get our food after the owner/manager goes back to the kitchen to address the issue. We eat, food was good, server never came back to check on us. No second drinks, asked for check and she told us we didn't have one for the trouble, we said absolutely not, so owner discounted it. We paid and left. All that was needed was for the server to own the issue, whether she didn't put the order in, or even notice how long we had been sitting without our food and checked on the status and pushed our order to the front, offered a complimentary drink or just say we f-ed up. Don't make excuses. It happens, people mess up, what isn't excusable is lack of attentiveness. We will possibly consider going back. read more

I've gotten take out from Central before but I was there for my first eat in experience yesterday. First of all, I went specifically for their Monday $2 cheese pizza deal. The deal is amazing! I am not a huge fan of their pizza (grew up on Lynwood Café and to me, nothing compares) but it is a decent bar pizza. I arrived a little after 4:30, because their deal days are very busy. At that time there were plenty of seats, but soon after there was a wait out the door. The service was quick and friendly. Everything came out as ordered. I do LOVE their boneless buffalo wings, mild are barely spicy, but they come out dripping in the butter/hot sauce mixture that is just so tasty. I love the buffalo chicken sandwich as well. Their mashed potato and bacon pizza is fantastic. All in all, the prices of the food are insanely. Staff is friendly and efficient. Great local bar with consistently good food. I always order the chicken cordon bleu sub with extra honey mustard on the side to dunk it in and I absolutely love it and this time I got the fried mushrooms also and they were excellent and they came with some Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them and they didn't last long! Being from this town, everyone knows about the Central! Its been classic for my entire life. Monday $2 cheese pizzas, greasy delicious. But I ask for light on the sauce since they add more cheese that way. I look forward to this every monday! Tuesday Half price pizzas for the locals who like something more than cheese on their pies! My previous review was during a time for the central where they changed the recipe size and pans for the pizza. it took them almost a year to change it back but they have and it is still delicious and the best pizza around. I wanted to also say how delicious their boneless buffalo tenders are and how huge they are. I recommend you try them out they are home made cut not like any other restaurants boneless chicken I've ever had. The central's boneless buffalo is by far the best biggest and juiciest chicken I've had. You can chose between hot or mild I've tried both. They make their own blue cheese full of chunks of the delicious cheese. I usually get the meal which comes with a side salad and french fries which I always change to their beer battered and home made onion rings which I would also recommend if you love onion rings...
