Wow! This place is a hot mess! Crowded, hard to get in and out of, hard to find someone to talk to. I had called to ask if they could do a smog check for my particular car, and they said yes (on Friday). On the following Wednesday, after fighting my way in to their parking area, I finally found a guy who told me they couldn't do a smog check for my type of vehicle because something or another wasn't working... Getting out again was another mess and a half. Found another place close by (S&S on Saticoy) that was fabulous. 5 Stars is not enough!!! This is where you should come to get your car smog checked every time. It is a Star Certified test station. Very inexpensive at $44.75 + $8.25 cert fee f you mention Yelp (a $10 discount) and I believe if your car is built in 2000 or newer (you can call and ask). Rates are posted in the shop, unlike other smog test stations I have been at. Today I was helped by Saro (I apologize if I misspelled your name), who was polite, professional, friendly, and happy that I brought my business to him. There was someone ahead of me (we both got there just before 8:30am, when they open). I was in-&-out before 9am. I needed a STAR station smog check and this place is local for me. They are popular and on a busy street with freeway access, so there was a little bit of a wait. Once it was my turn I got in and out efficiently. They definitely know what they are doing at this station. No complaints! Pro-tip: the entrance is on Sherman Way which can get extremely busy during peak traffic hours, making it a bit more challenging to navigate in and out of, especially if they have several customers waiting. We actually first inquired with the owner regarding a few questions we had regarding the process for a car that was going from non-operational process to operational and he was very clear and direct with his answers, which I really appreciated. Then when we asked about how long the wait was, he was able to squeeze us in on a stand by basis and we were in and out of there within 20 minutes. I found the owner to be very professional and business like and really appreciated his direct answers. Would not hesitate to recommend Smog Check Pros. They were great! My car didn't pass at first- I have a older car 2006 Acura TL. He said I have to drive 65 miles an hour for 10 min. Unfortunately in LA it was kind of impossible to go the 10 minutes straight so when I came back it still didn't pass but he put my car on some rollers and was able to go 60 miles for 5 mint , then it passed.
