In LA some of us with older cars need to do a SMOG check every two years. I'm sure many don't like having to do it but I found this gem of a spot off Yelp and I totally recommend it. Not only was it a comfortable spot but Saro was super fun, chill, and kind to talk to. He had me rolling with laughter! I called in advance to see if walk-ins are okay or if an appointment was needed due to covid and sure enough walk-ins were okay, major plus! I arrived to facility within 15 minutes and had one person already being assisted (minimum only waited about 10-15 minutes). Once it was my turn the technician quickly brought in my vehicle and began the smog check process. Very friendly and professional unlike another place I visited first (N&J Smog Test | just plain ol rude). My vehicle was completed within 20 minutes and for the price I could t believe, only $48! This place makes me wonder why I ever waited over half hour at other stations. I suggest to come early though. I really wanted to give him a 5 star but unfortunately this is not the case. Showed up with DMV documents he tested the car and said it needed a repair. Took the car to the repair shop and returned for the smog test again. This was where Saro said it wasn't done and didn't see the code he needed to pass the smog. He even handed over the small mirror over for us to look under the car. We returned to the shop where we had the car repaired, mechanic lifted the car and showed us the part and code. So here we go back to the smog shop and let Saro know where to look, showed him pictures and explained only after all this running around and showing him ourselves with pictures did he pass the smog. My experience here was great. The service was insanely fast - even with 2 people ahead of me, I was in and out in under 30 minutes. The customer service was great however three stars because of the dubious Yelp coupon. The charges are supposed to be $35 after the $10 coupon and the charges were still $45 even though I checked in. Third time is the charm but it was definitely worth the extra hassle. I went yesterday afternoon hoping that I could get my smog check out the of way since my registration is due but the computer system was down. I tried again in the afternoon and it was still down. I decided to go back this morning and luckily it was working. They had started some of the paperwork for me from the day before so the wait was practically non-existent. There was a $10 discount for mentioning yelp bringing the total for $45. The service was exceptional! He even filled my tires with air! I hate having to get my smog checked every two years, but at least the process is easy, quick and hassle free as they send the results directly to the DMV.
