Amazing service here. The woman who works there is on a mission, working nonstop as quickly as possible. There were a couple of customers before I arrived, maybe about 4, but I didn't wait long at all. I think I was there for about 30ish minutes, which is insane. I am not sure whether it varies by car, but the service fee was $50. Great deal for the service! Will be returning for my next smog check read more

Amazing service. The guy that worked there May 6th, was very kind. I called on the phone and the price they gave me was one of the best, while at the same time his voice sounded kind and very calm, which made me want to go there right away. After about 20 minutes or so I was on my way and I'm sure he did his best to make sure if their was anything that he could do within reason, and within his power to help he did just that. I called yesterday to see if Kim's Smog Test could squeeze me in for a smog test today and luckily there was no wait so I drove there immediately to get my car checked. The gentleman on the phone and the one who conducted my smog test was very professional. Told me to wait where the seating area was and proceeded to do the testing. I would say it probably took at most about 10 minutes or so. Very quick, paid and went on my way. I've been coming for years, as you can see my review back in 2023 and many years before that. Cave here on a Friday to get a smog check. Pulled up, no one was there, told him I was there for a smog. He had me fill out a form while he set everything up. This is an amazing to do a smog test... A gem in the heart of K town. After a several visit to my long time smog place in beverly and temple, it was a blessing in disguise to separate from it due to schedule constraints aside from the fact, after several attempts to have it done . This place i found in yelp. They are open on Sundays which is very convenient for my sched. Jennifer , ( shout out to her ) was very friendly , accommodating and helpful. Super appreciate her . We don't have to set an appointment, welcomes us with a smile, positive vibes on the place. Offered us to stay inside and sit since it was too hot waiting. She was indeed good in her craft patient and calm. Highly recommended this place for those in need of smog check, affordable price, compared to others. In and out within 15 minutes! The inspection itself is $42, and the certificate is $8 (you only pay this if your car passes the inspection). This was definitely the cheapest smog check in the area that I found during my search. The garage area is small, but there was still enough room for me to pull my car in to wait. I came on a weekday afternoon, and there were only 2 cars ahead of me. The owner was also very kind. Would highly recommend Kim's for your smog check! read more

The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

I've been going to Kim's for years now and have always received excellent customer service. I never have to wait and they're very time efficient. I have always passed until yesterday when I brought my 90 year old parents Mercedes to get smogged. They don't drive it often, very common with Mercedes owners, so the catalytic converter portion of the smog test failed. They told me to Google drive cycle and follow the steps to reset my catalytic converter sensor. This worked and it passed the smog test this morning! A friend recommended Kim's to me years ago, saying everyone she's known has always passed. I would recommend Kim's to anyone who'll listen. read more

Guy is not friendly. I had check engine light on and off and made sure w/ my mechanic before i went there. Unfortunately, He immediately sent the failed result until he made sure i will have to come back to him paying $20 more. My mechanic was mad that he sent the report and made it double triple trouble read more

Though this place is small but it is fully neat and clean. The staffs here are friendly so I always come for my car smog changed or oil changed while it (my car) needs. They take the solid servicing charges that are why I come here for any type of my car related necessaries. How blessing service it is! read more

This place offers friendly service. I arrived in late afternoon and there are two cars before me. The guy friendly guided me to park in the spot after the first customer was done. He did the smog test so quickly. I am definitely going to recommend this place to my friends who need a smog test. read more

They are open on sunday~~~ Thank God they open on weekend. I visited Kim's smog check on Sunday afternoon . It is clean and fast service. Also they charged $50 . I tried other place couple years ago got charged $60.. They open 10am -3pm on Sunday so good for people working hard on weekday. read more

Love Mr. Kim's! No frills and super nice man who has a clean shop with little waiting area in his shop with fans and chairs for you to wait while he conducts the smog checks. He's very efficient for a one-man business. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Highly recommend! read more

I was impressed at how efficient the female employe was. She moved in a rhythm that was like watching a graceful dance. Was here around 30 minutes with 2 cars ahead of me in line. Price was right for the service and $5 off for writing this review. Highly recommend! read more
