I arrived when they were just opening the doors at 0800 and there were two folks in front of me. Even when walking up to the counter I was greeted by Mr. Neal and my day was already off to a great start. After a few minutes in line and at the counter, I received my estimate and hung out in the waiting area. Not 10 minutes later the two cars in front of me and mine were done and I was on my way home. Everyone working there was just so nice and I actually wouldn't have minded waiting longer. I will certainly be back here when my car is due for a smog test again! My husband went in to get a smog test on our car today. As he was walking up to pick up the car, he notice the smog center next door charging $36 for a smog test. He asked for a price match as the Smog Test Only Center was charging him $58. The worker said the other center doesn't include the certificate which is $8, but even with that it's still $14 cheaper. He would not price match saying that my husband didn't tell him ahead of time and yet did not yet pay. He told my husband that he'll give him the discount next time and my husband responded that he's never coming back; he'll be going next door to the other center charging a cheaper price. With so many smog centers to choose from, you would think that they would put customer service as a high priority. Don't go to Smog Test Only Center...go next door. Update... The above review stills stands and even gets worse. As for the owners response...You are mistaken, I have a 2011 car and you did NOT give a discount. We even had to come back for a second time because you did not file the certificate correctly. We had to take more time off of work to get this done again at a place where we lost our confidence in. This shop was recommended to me and I came in to get a smog check. I was told that my computer was not ready to smog because I had purchased a new battery about 105 miles before. This is understandable, and I knew this could be an obstacle for me. The woman working at the counter was short and angry about my car not being ready to smog and told me to "you've got to go drive more." When I asked an approximate amount of miles she said, "I can't tell how many!" And started doing something else. She had no reason to be rude to me, and I believe it is assumed that you know something about smog and testing if you work in a smog test place! I drove 50 more miles and returned to find the woman crouching behind the counter on her cell phone. I said hello and told her that I had driven 50 more miles, and she looked at me like she had no idea who I was. She again checked if my car was ready for smog, and it still was not. Mind you, this "checking" takes all of 2 minutes, so it's no real burden on her time. I asked her what she thought I should do, and how many more miles I should drive. This is when she lost it and yelled at me, "if you want to know what you need to do call the dealer" and walked away rolling her eyes like I was too stupid to even talk to. I have no idea if their smog checks are done well, or if their prices are good, because from the moment I got there the employees were rude and not helpful. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. I went to another smog check location and told them what had happened, and he gave me several helpful suggestions to assist in getting my car ready for smog. Closed early. It seems to me that if you're closing at 5:30 you should close at 5:30 not five minutes before. I'm glad that I called to make sure that they were still going to be open before I drove over to their location. Had I driven over there I would've been upset. The owner of this establishment should inspect what he expects from his employees. Our initial visit was a struggle. I brought in my car for a smog check witch had a check engine light on. They proceeded to run the smog check only to inform me they cannot test the car with the check engine light on. Ok, I wish they would have informed me of this when they checked the milage. I had already paid for the check and after I was told the bad new I was informed I would have to pay again for the recheck. It was my fault that they did not know the check engine light was on. After some negotiating they agree to recheck. I bring the car back and I am told they will not honor the recheck because the original tech was not working that day, great. They speak with the existing tech and he agrees to do it. After some negotiating and headache I pass and am happy to be out of there. I don't see myself returning here. read more

So I had to get a smog check in order to renew my tags. Whoop di doo. I was really not looking forward to spending more money than the fee the DMV charged to renew my tags. So I did what any respectable person would do who wanted to save money, I checked YELP! I found Smog Test Only Center, which was conveniently down the street from me. AND, through YELP, if you check in there, you get $20 off your smog check! I'm down! When I arrived I was immediately greeted. I had maybe 2 people before me and I had my phone ready to show them my YELP discount. The whole process was simple. Sign some papers, wait 10-15 minutes (I brought a book to read, it's a habit of mine esp. when waiting for an oil change) and BAM! It's all done. The service was great, they focus on getting you in and out, but not in a pushy way. I have to point out this place only TESTS for smog checks. They diagnose, but are not equipped to fix anything. They just see if you pass, and if you do, they will send your certificate to the DMV and you just have to remember to pay your fees. Again, easy peasy.
