Asked if they had any discount for mentioning Yelp and was told that was only if I wrote a review. Normal price was $60, which I thought was exorbitant. So they gave me the Yelp review writing price of $45, which is close enough to the going rate for me. So while I still think stipulating that one has to write a review to get a discount is really sketchy, they don't really enforce it (how could they?), and the service was very quick and courteous. This is definitely the place to go to get your smog check. I am the kind of person that is very weary of car mechanics or anyone that has anything to do with cars, for that matter. The guy (sorry I forgot your name!) earned my trust instantly. He was very friendly & efficient and you could tell he knew what he was doing. Found my way to Smog Zone thanks to Yelp. Gave them a call ahead of time to see how long the wait was so I could go over my lunch break. Of course, once I got there, there was suddenly a line. The one young man working there was very cordial and asked if I was the one who called and apologized for the wait. I understand how it is - first come, first served. I had to sit through some people trying to not pay for their car after it didn't pass. The Smog-er was firm, but polite with them even though they were getting a little outrageous. All in all, it took about an hour for me, but in that time, he worked on 4 cars. He even gave me a discount on the word that I would write a Yelp review so here I am! read more

These guys are awesome! I found them on yelp and the reviews don't do them justice. First off they close at 5:00pm. I rolled up at 5:20 and they where finishing their last car. Without blinking an eye they said they'd take me. They said it would be 10 minutes but was less than 5. The service was straight forward and very fast. No crazy upsale or mechanic mumbo jumbo. I didn't have their online coupon but they gave the discount anyway. The most impressive thing about these guys is how friendly they are. Very professional and no nonsense. I swear if I didn't have a wife and baby to get home to I would have gone out for a few beers with these guys. That's how nice they are. Make sure to see these guys. I'd check for off hours to go. It's a one car at a time setup but they are so fast I'd guess even at busy times you wouldn't wait long. read more

my husband went in for the standard smog check a few months ago not knowing that the Check Engine Light being on = AUTOMATIC FAILURE. Aware of the CEL light, these guys proceeded to do the "test" anyway and had the nerve to tell him that the price of the test was discounted because of their coupon program. totally disgusted, he went to another neighboring competitor (whose rate is about $10 more but definitely honest and ethical). read more

I just had the pleasant experience of going here for the fist time today. The last smog check place told me my BMW M3 was not communicating with his computer but failed me anyway. I am glad I didn't go back there, even though it is next to my home. I found this Smog location online; I was concerned bz this year's registration required me to take my vehicle to a STAR station, so I didn't know how much more involved the testing would be (since I have an older vehicle). Simply, I recommend this location highly. I happened to get lucky because it wasn't busy the day I went. But their customer service is simply great. One of their guys was already walking to my car as I pulled up. The guys there were friendly, polite & quick. I mentioned that I saw a $10.00 coupon available on their website that I didn't have with me; they still honored it & gave me the $10.00 off. I was there all of maybe 10 min's or so & was then on my way. I hope this reviews sends many more customers their way. I'll be there next year when my other vehicle is due for its' smog test. Great service. Haik explained in detail the reason he recommended that he provide a replacement gas cap for my old car. (If I drove the car out of the shop and back with a new cap he'd have to reinspect, increasing the total cost) I checked the web after the visit and his price is better anyway. I don't know if the new cap made a difference or not but it wasn't worth the risk/cost. The location is convenient and he stayed later on a Saturday to satisfy all the customers. I dread having to get my car smoged even if it is every two years. I have not been pleased with any places I've been to previously. However, my experience changed yesterday. I called to see how long it would take and Ike told me it was a first come, first serve, but he would put my name down if I showed up. True to his word, he took me first in front of someone else because he had taken my name down. The service was quick and he gave me a discount. What's not to love? I looked over reviews of smog stations in my area and found many with poor reviews. Smog Zone had a very high rating and I decided to give them a try. It was a good decision! Haik was very professional and efficient and had me in and out of there quickly. The cost of service was upfront and while they seem greater than most other stations, they include all the hidden fees that the lower priced stations hide in the fine print.
