People who work here are very friendly and helpful. Food was nice and hot and had good flavor. Wife has the fish sandwich which she really enjoyed. Has two nice size pieces of fish. I got a hamburger, the regular size because wasn't very hungry. If your hungry for the large burger. Has two patties and little larger bun. If go here, look at the specials and other meals and desserts on the chalk boards. We didn't look and wished we had. There was a tenderloin meal that sounded really good. I'm all a good experience. This is a DINER, not a franchised Cracker Barrel or a I-Hop. If that is what you expect, then you are misled. If you have never been to a true diner, like they have out East, then you are missing out. The only difference here is that the diners in New York serve alcohol. I love eating here. It is just down home cooking by a staff that is attentive and work very hard to provide you a good meal and a nice experience. They actually care and they work harder than any other restaurant staff I have experienced here. It is an older building with an original indoor setting filled with happy patrons. We are lucky to have this here, especially since it is open daily from 6am to 10pm. You can always go there and get a nice warm reasonable meal. When we have had company we have taken them to multiple different "nice" restaurants in town. This is the only one where all our company actually liked their meal. We didn't chose it. They did after looking at the menu online. Everywhere else we have taken company, there were problems with the meals and the prices were ridiculous for the food we got, because it did not meet our expectations. I especially like that they have daily specials and it is just a comfortable place to be together visiting. No pretentious arrogant staff or patrons. Just down to earth people trying to make a living or have a meal. My favorite thing to eat there is the Cheeseburger soup. Sometimes I just stop by and get some to go. If you need a pristine setting with white linen tablecloths and wine with your meal, then you need to go somewhere else. Our server was rude. She shared her rudeness with every table we saw her wait on. Our food sat in the window while she was in the back. Sausage so thin and overcooked it fell apart. Toast was burnt. This place probably has some of the best smoked ribs my partner has ever had. They fell off the bone. They were so super tender and more meaty than expected. I had the pork stuffed potato. The pork was quite yummy. It came with a small salad and was very reasonably priced. Service was good. We had a server who it was her first day. The place started to hop because it was lunchtime. They were hustling to serve everyone and still managed to keep our drinks filled and even gave me a iced tea to go. read more

The wait staff was good. The food was horrible. The food was all canned or boxed food. I had the open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes, gravy and coleslaw. The roast beef was deli sliced meat on top of two slices of store bought bread smothered with canned brown gravy. The mashed potatoes were the boxed flake potatoes topped with the same canned gravy. The coleslaw tasted like the kind you get at a big box store. I finished my meal with a apple fried pie. It looked beautiful. The first bite was hot and tasty. Then I got to the middle where it was ice cold. I should have had the clue this was not going to be fresh food when I saw the three microwaves sitting on the counter and the "cooks" using them like crazy. Visiting from Texas, first night we got here ordered two cheeseburgers to go. The hamburgers had only mustard, meat and bun, nothing else. Then, everyone told us they had the best fried catfish. So we thought, give them another try. Ordered to go. Two small pieces of catfish, four burnt hush puppies and two coconut pieces of pie where both of them had melted in their boxes because they set the fish on top of them. This place gave me food poisoning! I ate three bites of my ribs. I quit because I feared getting sick and I did. This "restaurant" is why I downloaded yelp because I was so mad. There is a fly swatter hanging on a wall in the dining area with dead flies stuck to it! The people are the country type that you think would be nice and welcoming. well first of all, the food was good. good but average. my mom and I ate there at around 7, I had a cheeseburger and fries. my mom had a pulled pork sandwich. the first thing I noticed when the food was brought to us was the size. it's was a really small burger and barely a handful of fries. the plate it was on didn't do it justice either. our waitress was very pleasant. also the cook was nice as well. overall, it was average. but expensive considering how much food we got. read more
