I'd been in a few times and had a nice experience. However, the last time I went in, the clerk acted completely irritated that I asked him for help. I told him what I was looking for and he haphazardly threw a few pieces in front of me. I asked if he had any other pieces as the ones he showed me weren't going to work At that point, his attitude got completely ornery as if I was inconvenienceing him. F*ck this place!!! I bought a glass pipe from the owner 4 days ago. When I used it for FIRST time I inhaled a piece of glass from the stem that wasnt visible when I purchased it..and yes, i ALWAYS visually inspect ALL pieces, from all shops. I went back today to speak wi the owner about it. Keep in mind, I wasnt planning on, nor did ask at any point for an exchange. The owner (don't know name) was very defensive and cut me off in mid sentence stating "I personally inspect every single item I sell, right down to the rubber grommets I sell"..verbatim. He went on to accuse me of lying and that I sabotaged the pipe. No As*H*le I dont sabotage my property, especially something as delicate as a glass pipe. Hey Yelp.. Can you guys please add Negative Stars for Reviews?? This wonderful establishment would receive a Neg 10!!! read more

I've been to this place several times over the past few years, and it's only good if you're looking for a quick pack of cigarettes. If you want cigars, expect an extremely limited selection of dry and flaky cigars that aren't stored properly. I came in to buy cigars a week ago, and after inspecting the labels when I got home (I noticed they were cut weird and had a different font than genuine ones) I realized they were fake. And guess what: no refunds. If you want water pipes / grinders / smoking accessories / etc, you'll find extremely low quality pieces that they buy in bulk for pennies. Expect the lowest quality of everything. Even the knives they sell are bulk items they buy from China that you can get on eBay for pennies. They sell them for $20+. If you're reading this, keep looking; there's nothing special at this store. You can do better at almost anywhere else in Ventura. read more

Abysmal cigars. Some of their "higher end" cigars tasted like rolled up sawdust, and I wouldn't be surprised if their more "exotic" cigars were rerolled cigarillos. The icing on the cake is how these snake oil merchants like to overcharge for items under your nose. Sales and pricing labels are mysteriously "out of date" by the time they are rung up at the counter. Normally I would look past it as a mistake, but it happens essentially every time without fail, and if you bring it up get ready for some unwelcoming stares. If you are looking for cigars or cigarettes, drive up a few blocks and go to the local gas station. If you are looking for bad service and worse product, then look no further. read more

Beware - this guy (meaning the skinny dude who's here 95% of the time) will try to overcharge everyone every chance he gets. Everyone I know familiar with this establishment agrees! So tonight, he tried "accidentally" ringing up our sunglasses for $7.99/EA, instead of the posted $6.99/ea. When I pointed out that $17.74 couldn't possibly be right for the 2 prs of glasses at 6.99/ea, he instinctively began to say, "They're 7.99 --" but quickly realized he had too many $6.99 signs posted. Without another word -- reluctantly and unapologetically -- he re-rang our items to a total of $15.64, which I paid. Of course, after I had a moment to do the math, I realize that he taxed us at about 12% (instead of Ventura's 7.25 %). He just HAD to get over on us -- one way or another!!! BEWARE: SMOKE SHOP PLUS on Main St & Seaward, will siphon that extra buck from our pockets any time we're not 'paying' attention (no pun intended)... read more
