There aren't very many choices for hookah lounges in Ventura so when I found this place via online I decided to give it a shot. What do you know, its directly next to Ventura College! I can totally see people going there after class :D Despite the sketchy exterior we decided to give the place a try anyways. Once inside though everything went really well. Prices were very affordable, you can share the hookah with as many people as you want but there is a one drink minimum ($3) per person. I'd advise you to stay away from the orange juice. We really enjoyed the house special chillax king flavor hookah.The atmosphere was chill, super comfortable couches and the music was spot on. I was excited to try this lounge out since moving to Ventura but I got to say it was a big disappointment when it came down to the flavor of the hookah. They price their hookah by the brand of tobacco you order. I ordered a fumari mix (which is the most expensive) and It tasted like I got something else or the person just didn't know how to make a bowel. Ugh! They offer a variety of flavored tobaccos that you can share with a couple of friends. I like the Blackberry....although the Watermelon with Peppermint was rather tasty too. But heck!!! I'll continue to try new flavors because it's part of the unique experience. They also have non-alcoholic beverages that can be purchased as well. I'm contemplating buying a Hookah for home use too. And many others. They use all km hookahs and add to that they have a huge smoke shop in the entrance with everything you need for anything. At great prices. What a dump! Went there with my son and friends to relax and enjoy a hookah and catch up while I was in town. The tobacco / set up was ok - the tobocca burned quickly and we had to keep adjusting. Most places I've visited have offered some kind of menu but all this place has is waters / sodas. So make sure you're not hungry or anything before you go. The staff was a grumpy old couple who seemed more excited about us leaving than us spending our money there. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Having frequented hookah spots in Chicago, I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable and spacious the spot was. Each hookah is pretty affordable during the week at $10.99 and a mandatory drink purchase for each person. The servers I've had have been skimpily dressed and friendly. They've got lots of space, good ventilation, and solid Pandora (hip hop) tunes to vibe to. Ever since I turned 18, I've checked out Hookah Lounges. Chillax Hookah Lounge in Ventura is one of my favorites. The enviroment is fun and care free, relaxed, and calming. The staff are all nice and hard workers. The owner knows how to mix the Hookahs well and can give you tips on smoking or on choosing flavors. Above all, this is one of the best Hookah lounges in my opinion in the area. Definite must see. read more

This place may have been popping back before the new 21 and up law but now it's pretty much dead. Went at prime time Friday night only people there are the employees an a couple of couples. They have only tangiers and starbuzz, prices are 21$ start bowl,12$ refills. Same cost between tangiers and starbuzz shisha. 11$ each per a person when in group smoking. read more

What a weird place. Walked in to a yelling match between someone I thought was the owner and a customer-- very unprofessional to say the least. It is NEVER okay to scream and swear at a customer. The set up was really strange also, just some couches thrown together in a room. Drove all the way from Newbury Park and turned right back around and went home. I don't think we would have stayed even if the yelling and arguing weren't going on (even though that wasted our time as well, who knows when we would have gotten served) because the entire set up was really cheap and hokey. A very relaxed environment and a great place to come with friends if you'be have nothing to do. On Fridays they have a DJ which is a plus but if you plan on coming on that day or Saturday be warned it does get a very busy. It has a wide variety of tobaccos which is great if you want variety (try the cane mint, you won't displeased). The owner is a real cool guy and makes everyone feel welcomed. The environment, hookahs, and employees are great! They carry top of the line products and have amazing prices! The employee's always recommended great flavors. We chose blackberry melon blend and a little cane mint which was recommended, it took very little time for my friends and I to get our bowl of tabacco and some coals! Drove allllllll the way out to Ventura to check this place out since the only other hookah bars are in the valley. When we first walked in it looked like a head shop with some couches in the back, not like an ordinary hookah lounge... Then we noticed there was a HUGE argument going on where two of the workers(one possibly the owner) were literally SCREAMING at a group of six or so people over their bill. Super uncomfortable and unprofessional we ended up just leaving and driving all the way back home. Never again. read more
