So this by far is one of the best restaurants I have been to. The food is very fresh and tastes very good. It gives you a fancy feel without being to out of reach for those who are in different budgets. This restaurant is more on the expensive side however if you are used to paying 30 dollars for a meal you should be fine. In my opinion I believe it is worth for the food experience. The restaurant has an outside area with heaters and has a nice small interior. It makes you feel homey inside. With still enough space for large parties I had 12 people in my party and had enough room just tell them in advance of course for large parties. The waitress was very nice and explained everything very well and was very good. She gave us what we needed in a timely manner. And was there to answer any questions we had. By far my favorite dish was the seafood dip when I tell you it is amazing it is amazing I ate it all lol. And didn't have room for my pasta which is the first photo. I definitely recommend getting that pasta if you go there it is so good. This restaurant is definitely one to try they do change their menus every week though so that is something to keep in mind. I would definitely go there during brunch there is some good stuff on that menu. Overall really good experience definitely on my list of places to go back to. Very disappointed at the lack of customer service and response back from the restaurant on the reservation. We had a party of over 30 people reserved for a few weeks. Only day of they informed us of additional requirements that were expecting us to do. Unfortunately we will take our $3000 and go to a restaurant that would accommodate and not wait until the last second to make us pay an additional $200 hr to use the restaurant. read more

Not for us... won't be back. I'm sure it's fine for a place to get a specialty cocktail and apps but can't recommend the place. Appetizers of smoked seafood dip and steak tartare were good. The mains not so good. Had a filet mignon which was perfectly cooked but the sides were mediocre. The Parmesan grilled smoked asparagus was nothing more than what seemed to be steamed asparagus. The stuffed chicken breast was minuscule served with some broccoli that looked like leftovers from the prior day. Service was good, and the server offered to make some corrections but we declined. There is also an additional bar at the rear of the restaurant with ample seating. The highlight is a members only SpeakEasy down stairs which requires membership. I did a food and wine event there in late September 2023. The event cost $60. You only got 4 oysters with various toppings. You DO get lots and lots of wine. But there should be much more food offered. They should have at least 3 of each of the types of oysters. I left very hungry. read more

We arrived as soon as they opened for the chargrilled oysters but wound up getting a lot more. Our bartender Henry was nice enough to give us a tour after getting us some cocktails and house brewed beers. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and very spacious to accommodate a lot of people. Live music started about an hour after we arrived which was pleasant. We ordered chicken and waffles which tasted great ! But the raw oysters with Japanese sauces were our favorite. My wife really enjoyed her drink made with fresh juices. I had a good time eating oysters and drinking local beer. Nice new addition to Columbia's restaurant scene. read more

We visited smoked last night for he first time for Valentine's Day. We were excited due to all of the buzz around this new hot spot. Here is my honest review. Everything except the drinks lacked quality. We started with the seafood dip. That was basically cream cheese and 2 small pieces of shrimp. My husband's steak was tough and lacked flavor. My oyster ravioli was amazing on temperature. We frequent Halls chophouse and many other local hot spots in Columbia a lot so we are use to quality ingredients. The truffle mashed potatoes tasted like box mash potatoes. But the drinks were amazing! The smoked Old fashion and the in-house brewed beers were great! But we will not be repeat customers. For the price, you get a way better meal at Colas or Halls chop house. read more

Saw this menu, and knew that I had to come and try it out. I'll say that the service is excellent, everyone is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the restaurant is beautiful. The food, however, IN MY OPINION is not on par for the prices that are listed. I went for brunch and had the oysters, lobster deviled eggs, and croissant + lox. My friend tried the lobster egg brioche. The oysters were phenomenal. I would definitely recommend those. They give you a description about where they oysters are from that day and what flavor notes they have. That was pretty interesting and informative. The lobster deviled eggs left much to be desired lol. The lobster portion was almost nonexistent - you can barely taste it. The croissant + lox was similar to something you could make at home and have it taste the same. Wasn't bad, but wasn't extraordinary like I was hoping for. My friend didn't finish the lobster egg brioche, so conclude from that what you will. I am going to go again to try lunch or dinner to see if those menus are more impressive than brunch, but honestly I'm not in a rush to get back. The service & food temperature. We asked for a salad to be split & came in one bowl with extra plate. Also ordered a ribeye to split & it was brought with a plate underneath the one plated meal & the server stated "I think they put this on another plate because it was too hot." She did not know we wanted it split. We then had to cut and separate our meal at the table. Then to top that off steak temperature was cold even though steak was cooked correctly. We had so many food selections including starters and desserts and they all tasted great. The drinks, suggestions and selections by the staff, were perfect pairings with the food. My favorite thing was the smoked old fashioned drink and its presentation. Upscale atmosphere with approachable entree pricing makes this place perfect for dates and could easily make for a favorite spot. My only suggestion is to wipe down the cutlery and plates before setting them out: several things were kinda dirty looking. Overall though, a zillion stars! read more

Sorry for forgetting to take photos. I went to smoked last night after my friend realized his reservation at another place was for the wrong day. Do note that this is certainly a place where people wear collars (though I don't believe they have a dress code). I think my review is pretty succinct: it's like most other fine dining. The food is good and contains a lot of unique items, the service is good, and presentation is excellent. Unfortunately, smoked follows suit with the shortfalls of other fine dining by charging you a hefty price. I got the wet aged 12oz USDA prime ribeye with garden vegetables and also ordered garlic truffle fries for the table. The same exact cut and grade at Texas Roadhouse with 2 sides would be $25 or so. Here, the steak and vegetables alone are $75. Granted they aren't wet aging at Texas Roadhouse but my steak had little of the characteristic funk you would expect with a wet age. Now the food was certainly better than what you get at TR (the chef's here know what they're doing better than at TR), but not by a mile. I would say it's 10-15% tastier for triple the price. Certainly worth a visit for an anniversary dinner but I won't be going back for an economical dining experience. read more

Columbia has needed a fine dining establishment like Smoked for a long time. With an elegant, upscale decor, and slightly different theme throughout different rooms--including a below-ground "speakeasy" lounge and covered terrace--smoked will make you feel like you've traveled "across the pond" for the evening. The waitstaff is well-trained and friendly, yet not obtrusive. The bartenders are knowledgeable. And the food is pricey, but good. The menu is mostly "tried and true" dishes, and lacks the more defined culinary identity that the most experienced chefs create. However, it can and does compete with other good restaurants around town--and easily tops the ones that are not nearly as ambiance or far too boisterous to be labeled "fine dining." Hopefully, Smoked is here to stay, and willing to take a few culinary risks. I'll certainly be there for it. read more

The reason why we gave 3 stars is due to their service -- otherwise I would've given it a 1. Our server Jones was exceptional, kind, and patient. We came in as a family of four, traveling from Augusta (1.5 hours one-way) to mix it up for a weekend. We intended to eat at Hendrix next door, but they were closed for the weekend. We gave Smoked a shot since it was next door. Although we were not expecting any accommodations for children's meals, Jones went out of his way to ask the kitchen staff if they provided any kid-friendly meal (I.e, chicken tenders and fries for $18). Out of everything we ate, we only enjoyed the seafood dip. The ribeye my husband ordered was ordinary and less exceptional than Texas Roadhouse. My lamb ribs were extremely overcooked. My son who ordered the lobster mac and cheese, only got a pinky's worth of lobster, which costed us $25 (wow!). Outside of Jones' service, we were not impressed with the quality of food given the price point. read more

Absolutely amazing! Me and my husband had such a wonderful experience. From start to finish the service, the food and the atmosphere was great! Great for an after work drink or for a nice dinner experience. We ordered the 1/2 doz charbroiled smoked oysters and they were DELICIOUS! That was my first time trying them and I was not disappointed! I had the roasted duck with asparagus and whipped potatoes which were the best I've had hands down thus far from any restaurant. My hubby ordered the lame ribs and they were succulent, tender and falling off the bone! They had great grill flavor. But the most underrated dish was the truffle fries. They were delicious, crispy and well seasoned and were hot from being served to us all the way until we left. I was really amazed! I love fries lol. I came here around Valentine's Day for dinner, everything was delicious. We were seated at a table by the front windows facing Main Street, which was really cool. We had the lobster deviled eggs as our appetizer, it comes with 6 halves. We had the filet for our entrees, it was delicious and well cooked. The only reason for deducting a star is because the portions of the sides were incredibly small. Especially for the price. You'll see in the photo the "seasonal vegetables" are like a few shavings of squash and zucchini that can be eaten in two bites.
