We were driving from Camp LeJune to the Myrtle Beach airport and we needed to stop for food, but didn't want fast food. We didn't see anything on the side of the road, so I asked Yelp and we found this spot. It ended up being the BEST meal of the trip!! I had the corn ribs, shrimp burger and Mac and cheese. My husband had the Smoke and Mirror brisket sandwich with Brussel Sprouts. Every bite was AMAZING. We would not have found this place without Yelp. It's just 5 min of the 17, on the 17 business route. It won't take you off your journey long, and it's 100% worth the detour. The Mac and cheese tasted like it was maxed with a smoked cheese, the brisket was juicy, tender, flavorful, and the shrimp burger was so flavorful. The corn ribs were such a fun treat. Just tried Smoke'd a few days ago and WOW! After passing this place so many times we decided on lunch. Fantastic!!! Love the choice of sauces, hubby loved the choice of IPA's. First off the sausage and the potatoes were freezer cold when they came out in the seafood boil. We let the waiters know and they brought another one out that was much better but the sauce they put on the corn wasn't for us! We wanted to try something different and we stopped at "Smoke'd". They have delicious food at a reasonable price with a calming view of the salt marshes and upper Shallotte River. It is the only barbecue restaurant that I've ever visited in eastern North Carolina that did not automatically offer or include fried cornbread or hush puppies to go with barbecue or collard greens. This place is amazing! The food here is super delicious and the service is amazing. Our waitress, Kenzie, gave some stellar recommendations and was super friendly. I got the Lowcountry Boil and it blew away, the shrimp was my favorite part. My husband got the Brisket and Gravy and from what he says that was bomb as well. We ended everything with the amazing strawberry cake that I recommend to any strawberry fan. Definitely coming back and looking forward to trying their spiked Arnold Palmer. read more

My son-in-law and I both ordered in beast feast which is sampler of all the meats. The small chicken leg and sausage were the only things on the plate not over cooked. The pulled pork was dry and the helping was small. The brisket was burnt on one side and was flavorless. Thats why they give you sauce to drown the meat in so it has flavor. The ribs were the worst ribs I have ever eaten. One side was burnt, I couldn't pick up the bones to eat the ribs because the bones crumpled and fell apart. The bones were mush and mixed with the meat making them uneatable. I told our waiter the ribs are over cooked, He said " Thats how they come sometimes". He did nothing to fix it or offer a discount. We didn't address it with our wait person simply because we were hungry and thought it's just the appetizer. When our meals (4) showed timely and same time impressive, 2 orders of taco (1 shrimp 1 pork) shrimp and grits and a salmon- pasta dish. Unfortunately all the dishes were luke warm at best, we asked to reheat the shrimp and grits which the staff somewhat offered a re cook but out friend declined in the interest oh hunger . We've been to Smoke'd several times and it continues to go downhill. Sandwiches were cold but fries were hot. Drinks were left waiting up at the bar--we literally watched to see how long our server would take to realize our beers were up there (10 min). I had to signal to him. After that, he was attentive. The restaurant wasn't too busy so we couldn't figure out why the lag time with serving our food. Lastly---we got our check (see picture below). Why is the sub-total the same as the total due? The correct sub-total should have been $52.83 and then the taxes below that with the total of $56.39. Most people calculate tip from the sub-total and not on top of tax. We brought it up to one of the managers at the front. She said they were aware of the issue but that's how it's calculated. I said, it's SHADY. It's deceptive and false. read more

One guy comes over says he'll be our waiter, a few minutes later a girl says she is our server. Someone takes our order. Ordered 2 apps and a meal to split. Apps...ordered corn ribs and brussels. Both were ok. Ordered brisket tacos, they were flavorless! Food wasn't good and again the service was the worst. Got apps, waiting and waiting for meal. Another waitress drops off our check. We haven't had our meal yet. Our waitress then comes by to ask if we'd like dessert, again, haven't had our meal. She says oh, let me see where that is. We went here twice just to visit the bar. Christine our bartender was very nice and knowledgeable. She recognized us the second time we came in and was very nice to talk to. She helped with beer and mixed drink recommendations. All of our drinks were delicious and very fairly priced. This restaurant is simple, with a simple menu. But that's not necessarily a bad thing in this case. While they have little options to choose from, the plates we consumed were delicious. I had the smac and cheese & side winder fries and would give it 4.5 stars out of 5.... the Mac was great, the brisket was tender and juicy with a nice flavor, and the fries were perfect. The only thing it lacked from being amazing was the amount of brisket on the sandwich. I would have liked more meat then Mac to take away some of the cheesy flavor. My mother had the Brisket and gravy and was pleased with everything. The meat was tender, the potatoes were cooked to perfection, she had no complaints at all. We both also ordered the apple crumble cobbler desert. So good I forgot to take a picture of it before devouring it.... The staff is friendly, the view is great, and the interior is very clean. However, wish the price of the food wasn't so high ($65 for 2 of us to eat at lunch...). The food was so good I would love to say we will be back soon, but with the cost of the meals, we will have to save this for special occasions. Stopped by here tonight on the way back to SC. We tried the corn ribs as an appetizer and they were AMAZING! We ordered the brisket, the Brisket Burger and the "Not Shrimp and Grits" which I HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!! The restaurant is very clean and the waitress was great! Service was fast also! Sadly, I'm 0/2 on this restaurant. We came the first week it opened, back in June 2022, and my entire pork sandwich was just a huge lump of fat, as in the first photo. Secondly, today a few of us tried the chicken tacos. Wouldn't recommend, they are absolutely flavorless. 90% cabbage, raw hard cabbage, and 10% smoked, unseasoned, bone-filled chicken. Smoke'd is a far cry from the former ho-hum fish house in that location. It is a cut well above most Brunswick County restaurants. A creative menu rivaling tv food shows. Lynette, our waitress, put us onto the maple bacon Brussel Sprouts and corn strips appetizers that were outstanding. My wife had the Sammie glazed Salmon sandwich with bacon jam.
