I've been coming to Holden Beach several times a year for thirty years, and this place is the breakfast I've dreamed of during that time. It's a little far from the beach, but the bright happy decor, quality food, good coffee, and sunshine disposition of the staff makes it's so worth it. It might also just be me, but this place also seems very female-run, with a lot of nice groups of ladies (not exclusively, but enough to notice) stopping in for breakfast. The service was horrible, they were rude and making faces at us. They looked like they didn't want to serve us. i hate to say it but I didn't know if it was because we are colored or because they think we are tourist. My family has a home here and I live in a high tourist beach town in sc and service like that is unacceptable. The waiter spilled water on our table and just brought napkin, like are you gonna clean your spill? My meal was supposed to have cheese and cilantro all these things it had nun of it. My sister wanted to ask for something and the worker side eyed her. then my sister in law was waiting to ask and they were side eyeing her as well... my sister found bacon in her all cheese omelet and she's allergic. Second Review!! Happy to report a much better review. Food was great second time, just like the first. But what made this visit so much sweeter was the very attentive customer service. We waited just a few for someone to clean an booth and seat us and it was no time at all before our waitress had taken our drink order. Fresh coffee and mimosas, what's not to like. Then ordered little waffle in the hen house and the Little three little deuces, neither of which disappointed. Just the right amount of food for two hungry but not starving folks. Order can out wrong. I ordered over medium eggs with a waffle. Waffle came out undercooked, eggs came out scrambled. I asked for crispy bacon , I even ordered a side of bacon, undercooked. I told my waitress she told me you like it burnt. I told her no , just cooked. Service was worst, they removed a customer from the store. My husband and I went here on our mini honeymoon to sunset beach. Oh boy was it so good. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. I had the chocolate strawberry French toast and he had a waffle breakfast sandwich. We both didn't leave any crumbs on our plates. The service was great. The workers were friendly and paid attention to our needs. My husbands coffee was refilled without asking and so was my tea. When they forgot to bring out my bacon and eggs the waitress went back and got it for me right away. Definitely a hidden gem of a place P.S. This place was hopping when we arrived, but we got sat right away. (I loved how they assigned tables to servers to make sure they all got business by putting your servers name on a table stand when you were sat.) My mother and I chose to split a savory and sweet item so we ordered the Texas Farmhouse Omelette and the special Caramel Apple Pancakes. We got grits and sourdough toast on the side. The grits were a little bland and watery, so we didn't eat a ton of that. But man, the pancakes were delicious! There was granola baked into the top to give it a bit of a crunch and there was just the right amount of caramel drizzled on top. Large portion as well. The omelette took a while to come out because they forgot to take out the jalapeños, but once we got it, it was pretty good. We ordered the green chiles on the side which was a good choice if you aren't used to eating them. I would encourage people to visit here if they've never been here. The food was okay. A nice breakfast spot. Brittany our server is the large part of the 4 stars. Not expensive at all and was very clean. I just wasn't blown away by the food. As I said, nice breakfast spot, I would still give this place another chance. The service was that good. Wasn't sure about this place when I was looking for something for lunch. I knew it was a regional chain but breakfast places can go too far in certain undesirable to me directions. I was pleasantly surprised and it's now going to be a regular spot for breakfast and lunch. First of all it was spotless inside. Very clean. I had the corned beef hash omelette since the corned beef hash is what they are known for. Very very good! One of the most well made omelets I've ever had. The egg to filling ration was spot on for taste and texture. The corned beef hash is excellent I can't wait to try other items with the hash. The breakfast potatoes were real potatoes not the frozen little cubes that have no flavor and horrible texture. The potatoes were well cooked snappy but cooked skin the inside was tender and all around seasoned well. My favorite part was the biscuit. Oh my goodness I love they split it and put a little sear on it from the flat top. The outside had a nice firm flaky not crumbly crust the inside fluffy. The biscuit actually had flavor it didn't taste like eating cooked flour like most biscuits I've had recently in the area. I cannot wait to go back and try the biscuits and gravy. Prices were reasonable the staff friendly and they had super easy and convenient pay at the table. read more

This is an upbeat upfit breakfast diner. The interior is bright, clean, and friendly and so is the staff. The breakfast choices are fresh and delicious with no crazy surprise menu choices. The hustle and bustle adds to the ambiance rather than detracting from it. Very good choice for a good meal and experience. I will note, if you have any back issues at all, get a booth.
