Fabian was a great server and was very fast and refilled my drinks and I recommend getting him as a server

Our server, Peter was incredible. Ask for one of his tables. Calamari was bad, like chewing rubber bands. He offered to take them off our bill, redo them or give us free dessert. We both had their cheese cake with drizzles that he himself prepared. Delicious! My steak was well cooked as was the asparagus and baked potato. My friend's catfish was equally good. These were early bird specials so not expensive. read more

Waited over a hour to get our order. Specifically asked for the filet to be butterflied and well done. waiter never came back. had to ask another waiter to help us. sent back steak twice. We had a family of 4 and not one of are meals were cooked correctly or soggy overcooked crab legs. Manager never asked how all of our meals were. If I could give it a Negative 1 star I would. There is a reason their parking lot is empty and you can easily get a reservation- because it is THE WORST restaurant I've ever been to. Never got to taste all the food because the waitress never put our food in to the kitchen- seriously???!! A table of 8 walked out extremely unhappy and hungry. The managers excuse was that the sever was new- my question to her: then why give her a table of eight? We complained 3 times to the manager- once because we waited for our water - once because half of us got salads the other "had to wait because we are making the Caesar dressing" sure you do that- An Hour and 45 mins later we had salad- What a joke. Service was great, the atmosphere was nice too! However I have a shellfish allergy and they use the same fryer for everything so I couldn't eat anything but a salad here confidently because they also use shared grill. My husband enjoyed his food while I sat and watched I attempted a quesadilla but it was so risky for me also due to shrimp on the grill... so I didn't finish only tried a bite. I really wish places would take into consideration more ways to accommodate allergen issues. But I know it's more trouble than it's worth. If you don't have a shellfish allergy this place looks like the place to go! Prices are a little high but it's fine dining. read more

I reviewed Angus over two years ago and on this return visit I was very impressed with the quality of the food and excellent service from Kallib. It was easy to make a reservation and from the start the service was good from each server. We both had the $29.99 surf and turf offering which is a good deal and the quality of our steak , shrimp and ribs was impressive for that price point. My steak arrived flaming and topped with the most delicious butter. You can tell the servers are making an effort to please customers and management asked how things were going. It is a large place with plenty of seating and a nice view of the waterfront . I did feel the other steak options on the menu were a little pricey. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to visitors and locals looking for a nice moderate priced steak dinner. read more

Not sure what my initial expectations were, but Angus Steakhouse exceeded anything I could have asked for. Polite and professional wait staff. Amazing cocktails!! The menu prices were so outrageous. A dinner salad was $17.99. It didn't include any protein, just a basic salad!!The fried chicken was $28.00! Food was average at best. This isn't an upscale restaurant. Very casual. We'll never go back. So many other better options. read more

Delivery order was missing ALL side orders---including two sides of sweet potatoes, one side of mash potatoes, and two sides of baked potatoes. Additionally, on the beef quesadilla order, all three quesadilla pieces were missing the pico de gallo, and lettuce, and less than one ounce of sour cream was provided for the entire order. On the same quesadilla order, as described supra, one of the four pieces were missing. Specifically, even though four pieces were implied in the item description, only three were provided. Also, the beef in the quesadillas was underwhelming---however, the tortilla and the sour cream were good. Considering all five sides were missing, coupled with the missing quesadilla toppings / quality of the "angus" beef---I would advise to pass if ordering delivery, and perhaps, even if considering to dine in person. In my opinion---for comparison purposes---the meat provided by Chipotle is far superior, and there is significantly less risk of missing toppings, and side orders. Place itself has an interesting menagerie of animal taxidermy which I suppose is an interesting vibe for a southern steakhouse. Got there for an early time for dinner so there was plenty of waiters and waitresses around but they didn't really have anything to do. Just kinda stood around weirdly. We were steamed promptly and the food was out promptly which was a good sign. We both got the ribeye, mine was supposed to medium and my fellow quest was supposed to be medium well. So it comes and mine is a dry medium well. Funnily enough our waiter was standing over us asking us to take a bite which I have never had happen before. Part of the steak had too much seasoning and the rest had little to none. The fries that came with it were honestly pretty solid honestly the best part of the meal. We had an amazing dinner at the Angus Steakhouse and Seafood in Calabash. it was our first time trying the restaurant, we were seated right away. The French martini was great. I had the filet with a lobster tail, both cooked perfectly. My husband had the sirloin, cooked perfectly also and so very tender. We went to Angus Steakhouse last night for the first time. It was a quiet night, due to the Christmas Parade in Calabash. The food was equally fantastic -from start to finish- perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious! We e We ordered the strip steak to share medium rare, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We added a cluster of snow crqb. My husband ordered an extra side of chili. We had creme brulee for dessert. EVERYTHING was PERFECTLY prepared and absolutely delicious! The steak was seasoned perfectly , cooked exactly to order, tender, and succulent! The creme brulee was the dessert of my dreams- with prize-worthy caramelized sugar on top and a creamy delught in every bite! We were seated for 15 minutes before anyone came to our table, then our server finally came over and explained how they made the hostess cry because she's messing up and they are going to get her fired. We placed our drink orders and appetizers which then took about thirty minutes to come to our table. Our food, which was ok, took about an hour to come out. In the mean time, our server kept coming over to our table telling us crazy stories about their life we absolutely did not need to know. At one point, they pulled out a suspicious looking baggy you would only get from suspicious activities. They sent a voice message to their friend inviting them to the bar in front of all of us, then proceeded to invite us to go out with them. While the food was decent, it was way overpriced. I order a medium cooked steak and it came out straight up rare. After about two hours at the restaurant, we got our check and our server forced all of us to take out our phones and give the restaurant five star reviews. They literally took one of our phones and did the review themselves. To avoid this, I had to say I didn't bring my phone. We were there two days ago and we continue to talk about this experience, it was one of the most bizarre and uncomfortable restaurant experiences of my life. The table behind us ordered a filet mignon and they were given a sirloin (twenty dollar difference on the menu). Another visit, and excellent as always my wife and I like eating at the bar, and this time our daughter join us. Both ladies had fish of the day, grouper, grilled. Both were very pleased. My wife and I decided to dine at the Angus again. So tonight Friday, Nov. 8th. We arrived a little after 4 PM. We both had the Early Bird special of Kabobs. Did I mention the Filet Kabobs were excellent? I added the lobster Tail to kick it up a notch and I was not disappointed. This place has garnered my attention and shall be our go to dining establishment. Once again thank you Becca for a wonderful and pleasant dining experience. They call it "Angus," but based on the level of existential dread I experienced, they may as well rename it Anguish Steakhouse. I ordered the fillet mignon, hoping for a tender, buttery experience. What arrived was a cut of meat that had me seriously checking the emergency exit signs. I'm not convinced it came from a cow; it had a certain je ne sais quoi--or perhaps a certain neigh--that suggested I had unknowingly ordered the secret Seabiscuit Special. It was tough, oddly flavored, and definitely required more chewing than a steak should. To offset the potentially equine protein, I moved on to the famous "vegetable medley." This was not a medley; it was a crime scene. It appeared the chef had simply taken a handful of fresh salad mix and thrown it into a sauté pan for seven seconds before deciding, "Good enough." The resulting dish was a depressing pile of wilted, confused-looking leaves. Sautéed salad is not a side dish; it's a plea for help. When the Mr. Pibb tastes badly, you know it's not going to be a good meal... And it wasn't. At 4:30 pm on a Friday, it was empty and I can see why. I ordered a ribeye and it was pretty flavorless. It came with two sides which were limp fries and Mac n cheese which came coated in a layer of melted cheap cheese (you know the type that doesn't melt?). Other people in my party ordered the fried shrimp which was bland and a filet (also flavorless). The restaurant next door (Oyster Rock) was packed and I think the only people who were in Angus were the ones who couldn't get in there. Maybe my expectations are high coming from the northeast. But for the prices, I expect way better quality. And I hate making these types of reviews because I know it directly impacts the staff. I want better food! read more

Went here today at the Calanash location. We had been to the Mrttle Beach location and really enjoyed it, so we thought we would give rhe Calabash location a try. We were seated promptly at a window booth with a wonderful view overlooking the water. We ordered a flaming T-bone steak and a prime rib. The steaks were the best we have had in a 30 mile radius!! Seriously! We had filet, with shrimp and snow crab legs! First off, the wait staff was excellent. But that's where the positive's end. Chewy over prices Prime Rib and a run down cheezie restaurant. The draft beer was flat. The tables were worn. The chairs were like sitting on plywood. Then to top it off, they charged a $4.46 SS fee to cover the cost of the biscuits that we never got, the 1960's silverware and salt and pepper. We paid cash, but I understand they also charge a credit card fee. So unless you are going for the $29.99 surf and turf deal, stay clear of this place. Fast food restaurants have better quality for about 1/3 the price. read more

We went for a special anniversary dinner and put it in our reservation. My husband ordered a margarita that only tasted like tequila. Our food wasn't anything special- steaks were overcooked, baked potatoes were average, and corn on the cob tasted freezer burnt. Service was average and then it took almost 15 minutes for us to get our check after we had already had our table cleared (our server had other tables but didn't seem busy). Restaurant is very clean- servers were standing around waiting for tables to clean, kinda awkward felt like we were being watched to hurry up although the restaurant wasn't busy. read more

We visited while traveling through on our way out of Wilmington, service was slow, food was cold, with most left being inedible, outdated interior. That stated we did not complain & took the loss. Fast forward approximately 2hrs & everyone in our party whom ate seafood with their meal was extremely sick. This only progressed as the time passed, resulting in ER visits which confirmed food poisoning. Upon reviewing on google the "owner" was rude & combative insinuating false accusations. This was after explaining we have evidence. (See below for owner response & health violations) In addition, should you sort by lowest review rating on google, you will also see numerous complaints regarding the food quality which are met with the owner resorting to name calling with other patrons. We are now in the process of taking action with the health department as well as other appropriate measures given the nasty attitude/response by the "owner" be aware & cautious. I do not foresee this place lasting much longer under the current "management/ownership" . I only wish we had done our due diligence with reading reviews beforehand. read more
