In all the years that I have been a customer here, this past Sunday 9/27 made it the worse experience ever. I went to watch football,eat and enjoy time with my friends. It was no that busy. As time went on and I ordered food (chicken fingers and fries) for my brother. It took 45 mins for the food to get to me. The bartender actually forgot to put the order in for the chicken fingers. Finally they arrived. I later ordered chicken nachos for myself. Never received them!!!!! Come to find out they had been sitting for a very long time. A manager did speak with me, and he was not helpful at all. He tells me oh well there are some sitting up there, do you want those? Ummm no thank you. I want fresh ones and to go. He says ok and walks away. Never comes back! 1 1/2 later after ordering food, when I am about to leave, I am handed an aluminum tray with the nachos in them. Order still wrong. I gave them away. The bartender Poka (spelling) was the only good part. Not sure who the other bartender was but her attitude was deplorable. Between her dirty looks and saying things under her breathe, she offended a lot of people. Someone really needs to take a look into the customer service. What used to be a wonderful place to come to and enjoy has turned for the worse. read more

If I could give them no stars I would I went to smokey bones on a Sunday which was not crowded soon ass me and my family of three came in we where seated followed by no waitress waiting 15mins after a while we pushed the button on the tablet still no waitress no drinks NOTHING NOT TO MENTION saying excuse me to other waitresses and they looked as if they didn't hear us and kept walking this is a place I would not spend my money on poor service my family left with out receiving no food no drinks! What a terrible experience...and that was for take out! I called in an order for two chickens at 10:30 this morning. The manager told me the chickens would be ready at 11:00...opening time. I arrived at 11:15 and the doors were locked. I knocked...no answer. Got back in the car and called...no answer. Called again, finally the manager answered and opened the door. He stated that he couldn't find the key...WTF!!! He goes back to the kitchen, comes back about two minutes later and tells me my chickens are not ready and won't be ready for 30 minutes. Yep...30 minutes!! In other words, they had not even started cooking them. Needless to say, I walked out. What a joke. It's only a matter of time before this place closes down. read more

Ordered food the other day. As I am eating my nachos I found myself chewing on a rubber band. Will not eat there again!

I wish there was a way to give negative stars. Worst service I have ever experienced. Our server was god awful. Took forever to get waters and drinks. Which came out wrong btw, no refills either even after multiple attempts of asking, our food was disgusting but had no way of letting our server know because she disappeared, our check took a solid 45 min (yes we timed it) we asked 3 people for our check and one person we asked was the manager and he ignored us completely. We are all servers so like we get it if your busy but she had 2 tables but that's including us and she constantly disappeared for 20-40 min at a time. To top it off- a drink we ordered came out wrong (allergy to pineapple which she was informed about) she then proceeded to pour it into a to go cup and drink it on the line. This is no exaggeration. Do not ever ever eat here, save your money and go literally anywhere else except here. read more

After a bad experience at Smokey Bones we won't be going back. The restaurant wasn't very crowded but it took 5 minutes for anyone to come to the front desk to seat us, and then it took another 10 minutes for the waiter to take our order. He was nice and friendly, but everything was very slow. Our food took almost 30 minutes to arrive, and my salmon was dry, the broccoli looked and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for the past 5 hours, and my baked potato never showed up, even though he said it was coming. My husband's burger was dry and his French fries were cold. It took another 10 minutes to get the waiter's attention to ask about the potato and to get new fries, and then we sat at least 10-15 minutes before I got up to ask for the manager. The waiter showed up then and offered to knock about 1/3 of the bill off and didn't charge me for my coke. So that was fine, but there was no explanation of what the problem was and no apologies. I normally love going to Smokey Bones because the food is great and our service is impeccable, (ask for Tye) but Monday was unfortunately not the case. My boyfriend and I went to meet friends to celebrate my birthday, decided to sit at the bar until they arrived was greeted by one of 3 bartenders and given menus. We then sat and waited patiently as he tended to other customers. A few minutes later another customer sat beside us and she was then greeted by the bartender with a high five, and conversation. Sounds great right? Well at this point we had been sitting at least 10 minutes and had already decided what we wanted to drink but could not get his attention to place an order. Then when he returns he has a drink for her and continues to ignore our gestures. A few more minutes went by and we figured maybe a table was a better idea and asked the manager if it as available. We were then moved to a table in the bar area, as I noticed the same bartender have a discussion about us (his finger pointing and the young lady turning around in her chair to gaze at us kinda gave them away). A few more minutes passed and had it not been for our friends being close we were about to walk out. My boyfriend then attempted to walk up to the less than half filled bar where the bartender was now sitting and order a drink, he was told he could not serve us drinks we had to get a waiter. Our waitress Katie did finally come to our table and though I knew she tried her best to give great service the damage had already been done. I know they have good food and normally good service, but I can only remember how I felt this time and to be honest it stands out so much that still felt the need to leave a review and I don't plan on going back anytime soon. read more

DONT DO IT! People you work too hard for your little money. o.k. So it was friday night and my husband told me that a co worker swore up and down that this place was better than Famous Daves. So, I said o.k. Let's try. The atmosphere was o.k. I really didn't like the low chairs because everytime you looked up someone was staring in your mouth. At Famous Daves the booths have a higher back and more privacy. Anyway, so we ordered. They didn't have raspberrry tea or potato salad. Come on now. When you think ribs you have to have potato salad. O.k. so the waitress said the cornbread was good, of course she would say that right. So we ordered it. One thing to describe it. -THICK! For 6.99, I expected moistness. Not moistness here. The bread was the prelude for the rest of the meal. The french fries THICK and DRY. Ribs. THICK and TOUGH. The flavor was not seeping through like Famous. The flavor is not in the meat, its on top of the meat. I felt like a tiger gnawing on prey. Also, the limited barbeque sauces didn't work well for me. Wow. I really try to give a business a chance, and I usually try a restaurant at least twice before giving it a bad review to allow for an off night. But the service was (and I can't think of a better word) incompetent. Fourth of July at 7PM, and nobody waiting to be seated. But the crowd at the takeout desk was three-deep with frustrated people. We just wanted to pick up ribs and head out to a picnic bench in a nearby park, which we have done at Famous Dave's in 15 minutes. However, after ten minutes we were not even acknowledged. I grabbed a menu from the order desk and made my decision, and suddenly several orders came out and about half the crowd left. Then it got weird...there were three (three!) servers standing behind the order desk listening to two women agonize over their order, and after a few moments one of the servers asked if we were waiting for a pick up. When I said we were waiting to give our order he just turned and walked away. Then the guy next to me complained he had been waiting 30 minutes, and they had checked four times for his order. We gave up and left for Five Guys. read more

Super disappointed. I am 8 months pregnant and when I am hungry, getting the food right is important. I hate sending things back, both because it's ridiculous for a kitchen to make their own food improperly, and because I always end up eating last and the wait while everyone else is eating is awkward. I didn't even order anything complicated, a salad for God's sake. The steak and spinach salad, which as stated in the menu contains spinach, steak, blue cheese crumbles, bacon, red onion and sauteed portabella mushrooms. I ordered it without onions and the vinaigrette it came with, but somehow it came out drenched in an off-putting sweet sauce (didn't even taste like the right vinaigrette), with steak, a couple little sprinkles of blue cheese, and PECANS. that was it. Now, the salad does not even come with nuts. If I had a nut allergy it could have been a serious situation! Annoyed, I asked the waitress to have them make it again... the way it says on the menu, with bacon and mushrooms, without nuts. It came back undressed like I ordered, but with onions (I said no onion), cold steak (was it supposed to be cold? Not sure?) and STILL no sauteed mushrooms. She took it off the bill, but I still never got what I wanted and left disappointed, especially since at my husband's recommendation we drove almost 30 minutes to visit. The waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed despite only having a couple tables, and we only got one refill... drinks for our party of 5 sat empty the majority of the time. Service was completely terrible. We get our drinks and we have to ask for straws. We get our salads and we have to ask for dressing. I asked for no salt on my fries and they came with salt and pepper. Waitress was a complete airhead. We ordered a few appetizers, I ordered a side salad and a burger.. By the time I got my burger, I didn't want the salad anymore. I expected to have it while the appetizers were out o even before my burger, but it never came. So I told the waitress to cancel it and then she asked me "what salad did you have again?!" Then I told her, she said okay, then 2 min later came out with the salad. I refused to eat it and made her take it back and take it off my check. I asked for iced tea like 4 times and she came back and forth to our table at least twice without it. I had to go up to the bar to get my own straws because I just was not going to sit their and wait for her for however long. She was completely clueless. I did not enjoy my chicken burger at all. It was pretty dry for it supposed to be having bbq sauce on it and the bacon was disgusting. The rest of the food was average, but I've never seen service like this before. I went to this restaurant because of the good food, but i guess it doesn't apply to the one in bowie, maybe somewhere else like VA (I've heard is really good). We had 11 people at one table which can be a hand full, so why not a high efficient waitress? no we get a girl that may be new at. Whether if she was new or not it was clearly over whelming to her. She messed up the orders and when you didn't get your correct side she grabbed off your plate leaving it on your food. The drinks were mostly good from what everyone says but it took a while, one co-worker ordered an alcoholic drink and got one with no alcohol, then it finds out that they were out but still did not tell the waitress leaving her under the bus. Then the cooks didn't cook the food all the way. Ribs still bloody red, they are ribs not steaks, they need to be well done. Oh and the bathroom was covered in pee with the toilet papers in it and the trash can fill over the rim piled up against the wall and on the floor. On told the manager, didn't seem to care about the bathroom when I told him of the condition and when we showed him the bloody rib he just took it, walked away. We told him the few things but nothing. It was kinda unprofessional for the waitress telling all the other waiters and waitresses the situation and that she was clearly upset at us but really do that when we leave not in our faces and n front of other people as well. Yeah the only good thing was i was able to watch the game. read more

The worst experience I have ever had the only reason it recieved one star because I could not give a negative star! We came in the door and they said it was a 30 minute wait and that was fine. Once we were seated it took the waitress about 10 minutes to come to the table for us to order our drinks and that was also tolerable. But after 45 minutes the only thing we had on our table were sodas. So our waitress finally comes back and asks "Is everything ok?" In which I replied " No it's been almost an hour and we stil haven't received our appetizers!" She started to explain it was only one cook and the kitchen was behind and she will see about the appetizers. Long story short after waiting for over 1 hour we left. The waitress stated she would como the meal and the manger would come over and that's the only reason we stayed that long but the manger never came over. We ended up buying McDonalds!! I will NEVER EVER step foot inside of this place again! read more

By far the worst service I've ever experienced. Maybe 20 people in the restaurant. Waited more than 40 mins for sangria from the bar. The people who came in after us were completely done with their meals while we were still receiving our luke warm food in shifts. Sent one too cold item back and they added cheese, put it under the broiler, and sent it back out looking like vomit. When we spoke to the manager he said he was going to go in the kitchen to see what was going on. No discount offered, no apology, not even a free dessert. He removed the vomit dish and sent the check out. He eventually took 25% off the bill after calling him over again. He didn't want to though. 5 out of 6 of us had a complaint about our food. It wasn't too screwed up to eat but should not have come out the way it did. Either way, not likely I'll be giving them a second chance after interacting with the manager who obviously doesn't care. read more

I have only been here twice but both times, we had to wait a ridiculously long time to get just our drinks and even longer for the food. The first time i went they were busy but not packed so i didn't understand why it took so long. The second time i went we were literally the only people there and the service was STILL unbelievably slow! My husband and i came in there hungry and he ended up with a headache from waiting so long for the food. Our waiter was very nice but when we all got our food, my sister-in-law had about half the amount of fries as i did (we both got burgers) when we asked the waiter about it, he simply laughed it off like it was no big deal. We didn't make a fuss over it though because i had plenty of fries to share but its the principle of the matter. The food is good but its not worth the insanely long wait. I have no plans to return. Id rather go somewhere with OK food and get it at reasonable time than have to wait that long again. read more

We 1st went to smokey bones around 2005 and the food and service was excellent. We used to get free cornbread. Now it is about $6.95. The restaurant has restructured and it is not as nice food wise. Went there recently, Oct. 2012. We were seated quickly. It was around 2pm. The place was not crowded. Our waiter was very kind, courteous, and attentive. We ordered the beef brisket and bbq chicken dinner. The fries were very dry and not very tasty. The chicken was good but very dry. The beef brisket was tasty but somewhat tough for brisket. I left so much food on my plate, which is rare for me when food is GOOD. The appetizers spinach and artichoke dip. Dip was ok. The chips were too thin and kept breaking each time I tried to gather some dip. We were very disappointed after having dined here for so many years. We made a solemn pledge never to return. I told the waiter my concerns and he thanked me for not being bitter about it. I hope they can improve, but I will never find out. read more
