This was my first ever Blue Sunday! I don't come as often these days but yesterday I stopped by to catch some of the Spain vs. Argentina game! We arrived right before 3 and a few others were waiting for them to open. Got bar seating and had great service provided by Dre. I love that they do happy hour everyday. The specials are pretty good. I decided to try a new cocktail, well new to me. The "passion promise," which is gin based. It was really good. I might get another this week. We got a few apps and enjoyed the game. I can't believe I haven't written a review for Blue Sunday yet because I've honestly never had a bad experience here. I was introduced to this spot by some friends, and ever since then it's been one of those places I know I can count on. Whether you're going to celebrate something special or just looking for good food and atmosphere, this place is solid The vibe inside is chill low but with upscale energy, but overall just a great environment. On my last visit, I went with sushi since that's what I was craving, and everything I ordered was hitting. Every item I picked off the menu was flavorful and well put together. The customer service was 10/10; polite, attentive, and moved really quickly. I didn't get a chance to try any cocktails, but their cocktail menu looked solid. I ended up sticking with wine for the evening, but I definitely plan on going back to explore more of the menu and try a few drinks because they have so many options to choose from. Great place for quick bite! The ambience is cool and sexy! The service is stellar and the place is very organized, the best comfortable chairs in the area and clean. The food is okay....let me explain....it's happy hour but the food tastes pre-made. The temperature is lukewarm. The appetizers, rice and salmon came out on cold plate and just warm. I decided to stop by Blue Sunday for happy hour because I had a craving for their crispy chicken wings. I sat at the bar and Dre and Trey took care of me. They're both awesome bartenders and always provide great service. I ordered a watermelon margarita along with the crispy chicken wings with Mumbo sauce and blue cheese. The wings themselves were still good, but the blue cheese was definitely different. I'm not sure if they switched suppliers, but it didn't taste like authentic blue cheese at all. The Mumbo sauce also seemed a lot spicier than I remember. It used to be really balanced and flavorful, so that change was a little disappointing. I also saw they were advertising crispy teriyaki salmon for happy hour, so I decided to try it. When it came out, it had batter on it but wasn't crispy at all, and the flavor didn't taste like teriyaki. Something about it just felt off and the taste wasn't quite right, so I ended up sending it back. Blue Sunday has always been one of my go to spots because it's close to home and usually consistent, which is why these changes stood out to me. I loved everything about this place. The service was on point and so were the food and drinks. I ordered the old bay wings and the spicy curry fried rice, both were really good. The chicken was cooked to perfection and wasn't too salty, also it was fresh. The fried rice had a very nice presentation and wasn't too salty full of flavor. The ambiance is nice although it can be a bit hard to read the menu-since it's pretty dim but it's a romantic setting-very good spot for a date night. The drinks were on point, I ordered a margarita-but the drinks can be a bit pricey-I believe the margarita was about $18 but that was for top shelf and I think the rail one was about $14/15 but I'm pretty sure you will have a hangover if you order the rail tequila available here. I do feel the margarita could have been a bit bigger and less iced up, but the music was good and made me forget about the price of the drink. I would recommend giving this place a try, this was original the only location I believe, but there's one located in Laurel as well as one on its way to Greenbelt. My server was excellent....... He was very attentive as well as patient--he was also very knowledgeable and gave recommendations,I wish I could remember his name....... From the moment you walk in you can feel a upper scale restaurant. The lights are low with a black theme. Our server Efosa was quick to greet us and took our drink and appetizer order in. My girlfriend ordered a watermelon martini. Be careful the drink are strong but tastey at least according to her. For what its worth she a mixologist. Efosa checked back to see if we were ready to order but with all the great choices of what to order we needed a little more time. He gave us a few minutes and when I looked up and he seen me looking he was back to take our Spicey Curry Fried Rice and General Tso shrimp order. Blue Sunday has a beautifully decorated interior. It gives an upscale vibe without being too too pricey. I also really appreciated the all day happy hour on Sunday. This is a pretty nice Happy Hour spot located in Bowie. Parking can get congested I suggest parking on the back of the building for less of a hassle. Happy hour takes place Monday thru Saturday from 3PM-7PM and SUNDAY 3-11pm. It wasn't too packed; they have open seating outside of the seats at the bar. I ordered the mini crabcakes, pretty decent no filler, not on happy hour special, but I was told that they tasted better than the crab stuffed shrimp that was on the Happy Hour menu. I also ordered the fried wings at $8, they come in batches of 8, they put the powdered spices on the side. I had the lemon pepper and old bay and they gave me ranch and blue cheese dressing. I enjoyed the Peach Fizz cocktail, can't remember all the ingredients, but tequila was involved. HH alcohol is rail liquor, but they also include beer and wine. The customer service was good, the guys working the bar were very attentive and know the menu well. Also, in the works (according the website) is a location in Laurel and Greenbelt. I don't do Happy Hour often, but I definitely think this place is a good one to check out every once in a while. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time and have always enjoyed my experiences, which is why what happened during my most recent visit was so disappointing. After placing my order, my waiter forgot my drink. While I was still waiting, another customer who arrived after me ordered a drink and received it before I did. It wasn't until the waiter realized he had forgotten my drink that he brought it over and apologized. At that point, I no longer wanted the drink and asked that it be removed from my bill. The waiter told me he couldn't do that, so I asked to speak with the manager. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the manager was dismissive and rude, insisting the drink couldn't be removed. When my bill arrived, the drink was still on it. I asked for the manager again, and this time he removed the charge. However, as I was leaving, he told me that because I didn't pay for a drink that I had returned and never consumed, I was no longer welcome in the restaurant. I simply asked not to pay for a drink that had been forgotten and that I no longer wanted. Instead of receiving good customer service, I was treated disrespectfully and ultimately banned from a restaurant I've supported for years. I have higher expectations on this venue, the bartender makes well balanced cocktails, the food is good even though I wouldn't buy sushi outside of a Japanese establishment, I got out of my head and bought some from here and it was a little better than okay. We had to get out and celebrate my day after snowmageddon. We were blasted with snow and ice and wanted to get out and try a new spot. Let me start with the service...absolutely outstanding. Staff were attentive and made several suggestions regarding dishes and drinks. We arrived during happy Hour so we were able to get both happy Hour drinks and food on the happy Hour menu. The ambieance was nice, various types of music in the background with light hearted banter throughout. We chose the bar versus a booth or table to take in the games while dining. The food was amazing..although my wife had to send her lobster back, there was no issue she was offered other alternatives but chose to have another lobster which came back perfect. The asparagus was excellent with plenty of flave and not over cooked...nice and crunchy. The beef ribs with a nice BBQ sauce on the side was excellent with good fat to keep the meat moist and tender. Good selection of drinks with various bourbons...and of course who could say no to Eagle Rare...overall excellent food service and most of all plenty of parking right out front and the lot was pretty much cleared of snow.
