The best word to describe this establishment is "ghetto". Which is very sad because when this restaurant first opened it had a nice, family-friendly atmosphere. I went with a friend of mine on a Friday night. The place was about half full with mostly everyone sitting in the bar area. I'm not sure what the theme of the night was but there was a DJ & 2 "promotion girls" walking around in short, tight black dresses with flyers in hand. Not sure what they were promoting because they just danced around the DJ all night. Speaking of the DJ, he sucked. His music choice was bad & the speakers were up way too loud. I felt like my friend & I were yelling across the table at each other all night. I ordered the spinach dip & my friend ordered the turkey burger. He requested the fried egg on top but the waitress said they stopped serving that about 6 months ago. -__- He seemed to enjoy his turkey burger but my spinach dip was horrible. The dip tasted like it was frozen then defrosted in the microwave & then broiled in the oven. It was so mushy & tasteless. The chips were bland & brittle, I'm not even sure if they were tortilla chips. O_o I also ordered an alcoholic beverage, some sort of fruity mojito, I think. It arrived in a mason jar and was weak and watered down. My friend ordered dessert, but his first 2 options were unavailable because the waitress said they were frozen. Then he asked about the chocolate cake & she informed him that she would have to see if that was frozen too. 10 minutes later she came back with the chocolate cake. I'm guessing it was the only dessert that could be defrosted quickly. It wasn't half bad...clearly the best part of my meal. The service was ok. The waitress wasn't rude but she wasn't friendly either. I did notice that the waitresses didn't have on uniforms, they were all pretty much dressed in whatever. Strange. Overall, if you're looking for a "Dugan's" type of crowd & experience then look no further. If you're expecting something a little more sophisticated then prepare to be disappointed. read more

Fun spot to hit up on a Thursday night! Went with a friend and we enjoyed the 2.95 martinis and used a coupon for a free appetizer, ordering the "Crowd Pleaser". The DJ was definitely kept the crowd moving. They hopped up from their seats to dance. The food was tasty and I like the different sauces available on each table. They brought around free shots of vodka & sprite and then offered $5 shots of patron and $2 shooters. That night, there was a special tasting session going on where they brought around trays of appetizers for us to get a taste of -- a chicken wing, a chicken finger, a piece of the buffalo-chicken-bleu cheese, and so one. What do you get when you slam Sonny's BBQ together with an Applebee's? Smokey Bones' new format! It's been a few months since my last visit but I used to drop in with friends at least once a month for the better part of last year. SB used to have two types of sauce, sweet and mustard based. The menu was simple. The atmosphere was okay, and there where the little TV sound boxes for that one geek at the table that wanted to listen to Boomerang while he ate his dinner. It was an okay place to eat at and have a few beers. My last visit... There are now four types of sauce in unlabeled bottles, none of them are done well. The original sweet and mustard taste like the recipe has been changed drastically. The chipotle and vinegar based sauces are disgusting. The menu is now filled with side comments that come across and grossly sarcastic instead of funny, the new decor consists of bad signage filled with smart ass comments about life. The little TV sound boxes are gone. What little that could be considered about unique about this place is gone. Now on to the rest of the review about this actual location... Management has obviously changed. The server staff looked and acted as if they had better things to do than be at work. Our server had our ticket on the table before he even refilled our drinks the first time...oh wait, he never actually refilled our drinks. He basically dropped off our over cooked pork and greasy beef brisket and disappeared. If any of us wanted desert that idea was dashed when the the ticket came out so early in the meal. Several in my party considered speaking to the manager but after seeing him come out and talk to his greet staff we decided not to bother. Stained black dress slacks with a un-tucked, wrinkled button-up shirt with a ball cap. He looked far from professional and far from anything that should be allowed to prepare food. I ordered take out and got the fish and chips. It was pretty good esp with the bbq sauce they provided. However my rating is low for the mac n cheese. Tasted quite unspectacular - like it came out of a box from 1975. The mashed potatoes saved the meal, however. Overall, cool spot, but don't bother with the mac n cheese as a side. read more

We order thru DoorDash an hour and a half before they closed and they told the driver "oh we didn't make that order because the kitchen was closed." Their wings have like a weird coating when they deep fry them & taste pretty good. They have one of the best nachos out their & their portion size is HUGE! I love that they have a lot of sauces too choose from to coat your wings. This place has 2a.m. closing engraved on a sign outside but if you walk in at 1a.m. you are strongly discouraged by manager and staff not to come in further than the hostess desk. In the said"manager"words kitchen and bar last call at 1:25a.m. and they can't promise that your service won't be bad. SAY WHAT? Yeah right he's the manager and if this man is he needs to be demoted on the spot. How dare you. We went in for a family dinner and birthday event. We had 1 baby and 2 toddlers. Monay was our server and she made the experience spectacular. She played with the kids and made them feel special. She made sure everything was just right for us. Then she went above and beyond! My boyfriend has a medical condition and as a result fell asleep at the table. We were unable to wake him and Monay helped us walk him out of the restaurant, she had no coat and it was very cold out, and get him in the truck. This is what I call an amazing server. I was a bit skeptical coming here after reading the previous the reviews. My family decided to stop here on our way back from the airport. We were starving and this food did the trick to fill us up. And it was delicious! We started our meal with pretzel bones which were good. I didn't care much for the mustard sauce but the cheese was good. I then got the pulled pork platter with Mac and cheese and baked beans. All were tasty & very filling. You can tell that this place is a bit understaffed and is slow with waiting their tables but they partially made up for it. The waitress automatically brought our refills and had two glasses on the table at all times. The food came out in decent time and a manager came to check on us. Towards the end of our meal, it took us forever to get out of the restaurant because our server was nowhere to be found to give us a to go box or a receipt after paying with our credit card. I came here having the same expectations I do for any "unlimited wings" place (such as Hooters) which, after having tried Hooters 3 times, my expectations for Smokey Bones wasn't very high. Our waiter was really helpful; he came back right when everyone needed refills (we were a party of 7 so I know sometimes it can get really hectic especially when not all of us are getting the same things). Needless to say, Anthony was an amazing waiter; one of the best waiters I've had in a really long time. He came back often to ask if we needed anything regardless of how busy they were. We were 7 young Asian looking customers so most places we go to treat us like kids and once they give us food, they disappear into what is the abyss of the kitchen and never come back out. Anthony, however, was really punctual with everything we needed. Tl;dr: Nice atmosphere, excellent customer service, nice choice of options; would recommend 5/5. read more

I had a buffalo chicken sandwich without the bun (he offered it on a lettuce bun, which was nice) and he easily subbed broccoli instead of fries. The portion was just right for me, but I think most would refer to it as a little small (however, if you had a big plate of fries it might look larger). The broccoli was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The chicken had a nice seasoning in addition to the buffalo sauce and blue cheese. I wouldn't rush to go back but it was an okay meal. Food is decent...we had the BB rib (brown sugar sauce) combo with smoked turkey. The ribs were tasty and a bit crispy (I like that in a rib). The sweet potato fries were really good but I the fire roasted corn crashed and burned. The sweet tea is not up to the southern standards that I have come to expect...have a big glass of water...better for you anyway. Finally, we decided to come here after walking out on the horrid service at Arizona's and I am glad we did, Jarrett was prompt, friendly, helpful and provided excellent service and we really enjoyed hearing young Bria sing "At Last"- that little girl has PIPES. Giving them a solid 4. Service was attentive, food was pretty good. Broccoli tends to be treated as a throwaway vegetable at most restaurants, but theirs was good. My only negative was they had several sauces with different color lids; blue, green, yellow, red and the server did not explain what the colors meant. Food is good but the service is not. How can you be short staffed on a Saturday during college football season? I sat at the bar not noticed for 10 minutes before I finally had to ask for a menu. There was only one person working the bar. The manager stayed in the back and did not make any adjustments of assist. I hope the Stonecrest area realize one day that sales are down and stores have closed because of the bad service some businesses provide. People would rather drive to the same businesses elsewhere to spend their money in another part of Atlanta than to tolerate the poor management and service some of these places deliver. read more

So this was the 1st time I tried SB on V-day. I treated myself to lunch as a gift to me. I had the giant Hawaiian ribeye, loaded baked potato and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese left a little to be desired. I was hoping for a more homemade style but it was more creamy than cheesy. However, that steak was soooo freakin flavorful! The waitress was so nice and the atmosphere is cool as well. They are in the middle of remodeling, however, it was not too obvious. I will go back again and try other items on the menu.
