I stopped by with some friends and decided to have a little snack. I was told the cheese muffins were a must so we got those. I also ordered a peach tea, smoked wings, onion rings, & the brisket platter. Listen, I don't know what they did to these cheese muffins, but they were heavenly. They pretty much melt in your mouth. The first one I ate without butter and it was good; for the second one, I slathered some butter on there and that made it even better. I probably ate half the basket by myself. For the smoked wings, instead of getting them drenched in sauce, I ordered all the sauces on the side. The wings had a slight crisp on the outside, which I love. It gives me the illusion that I'm eating a fried wing, but this way is much healthier. Lol. All of the sauces were solid. The honey habanero sauce was good, but really wasn't hot. The white sauce in Carolina mustard sauces were probably my favorite. I never pass up a chance to order hand breaded onion wings. It's rare to see those on the menu. These were done just right. The breading was crispy, light, & seasoned. They came with ketchup, but I dipped them in my barbecue sauces instead. These were much better than frozen onion rings with breading that's too thick. Unfortunately, I enjoyed my appetizers more than my brisket platter. I was underwhelmed by the brisket; it wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped. The greens were OK and I didn't eat the macaroni and cheese. The consistency was not what I was expecting. Our server was great. He gave good recommendations, was friendly, and even accommodated my friend's request to watch a specific game on the television near us. I was in town visiting and drive past this place, so decided to try it. I went through the drive thru so I don't have many pictures. Terrible! I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce on top. The meat wasn't pulled or slow churned at all. Instead, huge pink chicken chunks that looked undercooked. It looked like cat food on a bun. I also thought the onions woukd be sliced in whole circles not diced. ‍ The sandwich was dry and bland with no flavor. The potatoe salad was made with waaay to much mustard. The biscuit isn't a biscuit but a very tiny "MUFFIN". The banana pudding had more whip cream than actual pudding and waffers Compliment: The bake beans were good but a little too thick and sweet. Today I came in for a quick bite to eat with my nine year-old our server was Gavin when I tell you, hands-down, phenomenal, great listener very attentive, even when my son will whisper certain things that he wanted from the menu. He was so attentive. I hate to speak to him directly to be his order exactly how he wanted it. I'm only giving this four stars because The kitchen still struggles at this location. The french fries came out overly salted to the point. My son sent them back. Gavin gave us no issue in the return of the unsatisfied product and honestly, I'm extremely grateful that he didn't send over a manager or share with anybody else we were having an issue. He just took the initiative and resolved it. Food is definitely better in the daytime than it is in the evening hands-down as far as consistency in preparation. Fantastic food and the best sweet tea, bonus that they have PEACH tea too. Had the large baked-potato with brisket as well as the 2 meat with Carolina pulled pork and subbed in brisket. Collard greens and coleslaw on the side. The tiny cheese biscuits were delicious. CRUNCHY onion rings and deviled eggs too. Our table was too full for dessert. Have gone to this Jim 'N Nicks restaurant a few times, most recently on July 19th, 2025 and again on the 26th. The food is always good, the service is good, the restaurant is clean, and the staff is always friendly. The last 2 visits I got smoked chicken on top of the chopped southern salad. Their chicken is never dry like at some BBQ restaurants. My wife got the same salad with shredded pork. We both like their unsweetened peach flavored iced tea. They do have a drive through if you want food to go. My only small complaint might be about the complimentary cornbread muffins being too sweet. They're almost like a dessert. Seems a bit odd to me, to start a meal with something sweet. I do recommend this restaurant. read more

I've had good meals at lunch here, but never have really enjoyed a dinner (and I think I am scratching them off my dinner list). I'll got back for lunch if (a) the weather is warm, and (b) we get a table rather than a booth and (c) I am not in a hurry. 1. Service. Great at first. Nice server, brought drinks quickly, refilled them, appeared once to apologize for the slow kitchen, and then disappeared. Kitchen was, indeed, slow but forgivable - we had a lot to converse about. 2. We both had BBQ loaded baked potatoes. I returned mine so it could be heated. It took them three tries to get it, well, not hot but at least pretty warm. I had gotten sour cream on the side and there was also a side of extra barbecue sauce, but both were lost in the process of it being reheated, returned, reheated, etc. They use *very* large baked potatoes so the BBQ and other things on it didn't really integrate too well with the potato. 3. The padding in the booth was so old that we both sank right down and it felt like our chins were level with the table (overstatement) but my partner said they felt like we were little kids sitting at the adult table. 4. It was 40o or so outside, and every time the side doors was opened (where order pickups occur), an arctic blasts helped us stay awake. (The restaurant temperature was about normal but it was deliciously warm in the men's room, and I joked with my partner about taking my meal and eating it in a stall, lol.) 5. We gave up on waiting for a check - I got myself a menu, calculated food, tax and tip, and left cash on the table. Unfortunately, that both meant I had to round up more than I would have liked and also that I could not get a to-go box for the rest of my potato. The BBQ there is always good but I feel like a friend who once explained her divorce by saying "the screwing I was getting wasn't worth the screwing I was getting". Dinner was NOT a satisfying experience in any way. Time for me to divorce Jim and Nick, except - maybe - for lunch. read more

Shame on Jim and Nick's for taking advantage of loyal customers! I ordered a catfish sandwich with lettuce and tomato ((takeout). The photo is exactly what I received. There was a small piece of tomato that was super soggy along with a spoonful of lettuce. The fish had clearly been frozen, was mushy with zero taste. A total waste of $12. This is my third try at takeout from this restaurant and it's exactly the same experience--order is wrong (thank goodness my hubby checked), food is subpar, and skimpy! Choice of turkey, Chicken or Pork. I had Turkey As an appetizer I had the popular deviled eggs. You get 4 medium sized eggs that are seasoned well like your granny's or mother. Went here for the first time yesterday and it was pretty good. Although there were some communication issues over the speaker in the drive thru the overall service was good. I will say for the brisket, it was very fatty which I understand at times it's fatty, but most of our meat was fat. It had a good flavor and the mac & cheese was good as well as the potato salad. Table for 3 for Dinner  Running errands in the Conyers area, the family and I started to get hungry, and as usual, my daughter was in the mood for some ribs.. We've passed this Jim n Nick's many times but never stopped in, although we've enjoyed one of their other locations before. We entered without a reservation and received a warm greeting. Requesting an outside table for 3, our hostess led the way. After reviewing the menu, we had a bit of an extended wait to figure out who our server was, but he eventually arrived. By then, we were ready with our drink and food orders. We all ordered the same 1/2 slab of baby back ribs, we each customized our sides. I ordered a Sweetwater 420 and the ladies opted for a couple of lemonades.  I took a stroll around the interior dining room and made a quick trip to the restroom. The whole place was nice and clean, with seating everywhere. They even seemed to have a room for private events. Upon my return to the table, the food was right behind me. We all enjoyed our ribs, though my daughter mentioned they weren't completely falling off the bone, and the BBQ sauce wasn't her favorite--it tasted like onions to her. We asked our server if they had any other types of sauce, and he mentioned a Carolina-style (I think) sauce and a Habanero BBQ sauce. I opted for the Habanero and really enjoyed it with my remaining ribs--it had a nice kick of spice. Our server Gavin was so amazing. Jim N Nicks is a staple in this community and they never disappoint. I took some family from out of state here for their first time. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. It was clean and not at all busy. We went for dinner. Gavin brought us out some cheese biscuits and they were really cold. He apologized and brought some fresh, warm biscuits while we decided what to order. We did decide to get an appetizer; turkey queso and everyone loved it. I thought it was going to have ground turkey, but it had diced turkey and was delicious. We sat in a big booth that had plenty of space for the tall people in my party. The menus were concise enough that we decided our meals within ten minutes of being sat. I spent roughly $130 before tip for four meals, drinks, and an appetizer. We would absolutely go back again. My last review was a 5! Everything was near perfect. This time I was so disappointed. I ordered the 2lbs of ribs with Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens. My daughter had the lean brisket, Fries and Mac & cheese. We also had orders of deviled eggs and onion rings. My daughter loved her meal. My Ribs were tough to chew. I ate one rib and couldn't eat any more. It almost tasted like they were boiled. I even asked our waitress, Kristen, how they were prepared. She said they were smoked which surprised me. She asked if I wanted a new batch of ribs, but I didn't want to take the chance that the new batch would be the same. I filled up on my sides and appetizers. I bought the ribs home, but I can't see myself eating them. I've had the ribs in the past and loved them. I was really looking forward to enjoying them today. Good BBQ! Jim M Nicks is our office go to for BBQ for lunch! The 1/4 chicken dark was seasoned well and flavorful. The loaded baked potato was just ok but there mac and cheese was deliciously cheesy and creamy. I'm also a fan of their brisket and turkey both are tender and juicy. I'm a lemonade girl and theirs doesn't miss it's a good combination of sweet and tangy. They also have catering which we've ordered before and it was an office hit. read more

So ...let's start off by saying the Smyrna location is the best in my "Opinion" 1. The presentation could have been better...I know I know it's bbq, but clean the plate up a little before presenting the food. 2. The Mac n' cheese had Wayyyyy to much cheese and not enough mac..ugh! 3. The collards were cold had to send those back. 4. The biscuits were burnt, but our server brought out fresh ones. 5. Our server I forgot her name walked by us numerous times and didn't ask if we needed anything, but when we did we had to stop "Her" that's so frustrating. Not a good look! 6. The ribs were a little burnt :-( 7. The sauce that came with the chicken was tasty, but it should be a much larger serving being that I had a half a chicken. Jim 'N Nick's Conyers location is tried and true in the community. On the particular visit, I decided to try an appetizer. I chose the smoked wings w/ mild sauce. They did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed the texture of the wing as well as the flavor (in my Keith Lee voice "9 out of 10" LOL). Went traditional with the entrees and I was throughly please with my chicken tenders and ribs. They didn't disappoint and leave you nice and full. I got the Bar-B-Q Chicken Sandwich and it was so soft and tender! Mac and cheese was alright too. Their biscuits are always so good. We also got the spare ribs too and they were so tough.... We spent like 5 minutes trying to just pull the meat off of the bone... Fortunately the manager was easy going and just waived the price of the ribs from our bill which was great. The banana Pudding was aweeeeeesome! Stopped by to get a plate of food, ordered the ribs plate with collards and mac and cheese, I was extremely disappointed with the ribs, I should have checked them before I left.... they were sticky and noticeable leftovers. (always check your food before leaving) , they put a hefty amount on my plate but they were not good, thick sticky layer of sauce all over the ribs, all over my hands and all over the plate-NOPE! The collards and mac and cheese was good-freshly cooked! The 2 Stars is for the Banana Pudding and the service I received..... He was Great!!!! The waitress was polite and efficient but my salad had a long strand of hair in it. I did not notice it until it was in my mouth. I informed the waitress who removed my plate. in addition the chicken was cold on the salad. I had the same salad the day before in Bham Al and the chicken was warm. I don't usually visit here.
