2/26/2026 - Fair Oaks, CA They serve the most delicious smoked brisket dip sandwich ($21), which I had on this visit. We are never disappointed when we eat here. Owner Steve is very friendly, the food is delicious, and the bar area is comfortable. The restaurant seating is very rustic with a fireplace and big picture windows. Nice place to grab just a drink and appetizer, or a full meal.

Awe. Christmas Eve. First of all thank you for being here for our group. Wonderful fireplace and holiday decorations made a nice touch. Not very busy. Four staff seemed on duty. Service seemed slow for all patrons. We were a party of eight. Food came out in to the table on at different times. With that being said no one complained about the food.

We have been wanting to go to this place for a very long time, it surely did not disappoint, the drinks were fantastic I ordered fish and chips my girlfriend got the cowboy up burger , for dessert we shared a banana budding. I would say the coleslaw that came with the fish and chips didn't have a lot of flavor and the lady finger part to the banana pudding was very dry but the pudding was fantastic that is why I gave 4 out of 5 stars. Our server was wonderful and we will definitely go back.

Wow! I was super hungry and had passed by a bbq place on the way into Mather. When I pulled up, there was writing on the windows saying they'd had a baby and would re-open 9/6. Yelp to the rescue again. I search BBQ places and see Smokey Oaks Tavern in my neck of the woods. So, I meander over in late afternoon traffic. There is plenty of parking out front and the walking in, I found myself at the junction of a very attractive bar and a very inviting restaurant. I was greeted right away and asked for ribs to go. "Do you want sides with that?" "Nope. Just the ribs." Had a delicious glass of American whiskey while I waited. When they brought out the ribs, with bbq sauce on the side, the fragrance was AMAZING! I got enough for the whole family. The smoke flavor was impressive, the meat tender and the sauce a little sweet, not much heat. But those ribs were properly smoked. I'll be back for sure!

Always pass Smokey's to and from work and we decided today we'd try it. We got the pulled pork sandwich w/tots and the smoked chicken nachos the portions were huge for the price and came out quick. Staff was friendly and drinks were cold! New spot for good grub and drinks acquired

Drove by this place many times and decided to grab lunch here today! We got seat fairly quickly and the wait time for food wasn't long at all! The food was very delicious and fresh! We enjoyed everything to the last bite! The service was good and professional. There weren't too many people there so that made us feel more special as everything we requested got done very quickly! The ice cream was the best part! So delicious and creamy! Inside was very clean and great seating arrangement!

My husband took me here for a lunch date as he has been there before for a business luncheon. The place was super cute and had lots of wine bottles on the walls which I thought was super nice looking. The only thing is while we were there one of the wine racks fell off the wall and wine shattered on the floor but the workers cleaned it up pretty quick. But that's besides the point. The point I need to make is about these sandwiches that we had! Omg they were amazing!! I had the smoked pastrami and it was so juicy and tender that it was melting in my mouth and the mustard that came with it took me back to when I would get these sandwiches in Germany. It was so amazing. The tots were seasoned just perfectly and had the right amount of crunch! My husband had the brisket French dip and said it was very tender and juicy as well and the dipping sauce was really flavorful. Overall it was a nice lunch date with my love even though some wine was destroyed in the process. Will definitely go back again!

This is THE PLACE TO GO!!! I was blown away at how tasty the food was and service was FANTASTIC!! We even got a chance to meet the new owners! They are awesome. We got a full rack of ribs which were, hands down, the BEST ribs I've ever had!!! Also got some Mac& cheese & chocolate banana bread pudding with ice cream on top for dessert (thanks to the waiter for recommending this dessert!) Highly recommend stopping by, they also have a nice bar if you just wanted to stop in for a drink

This is definitely a comfort food restaurant. Nice selection of hamburger and hearty sandwiches. I had the French dip which was quite tasty with the exception of the au jus which was very salty. The meat was flavorful and tender and the bun was nice and soft. I had the brownie for dessert which was served warm. After a heavy meal, it's a good desert to share. It was very good. The service was excellent! From the man who took my reservation over the phone, to the bartender who greeted me to the server. A+ on customer service! The restaurant is casual and comfortable. Feels very much like a neighborhood restaurant.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Seating: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Parking: 5/5 I came in the afternoon on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet, not too busy. A great place to relax with friends or family, and lots of indoor seating at the bar or tables. There's a private parking lot so plenty of free, easy parking. The seats were comfortable: metal chairs so sturdy but hard back with comfortable cushioning on the bottom. I ordered two entrees: The Melt Sliders with Sweet Potato Fries ($16) and The Bleu Sliders with Tater Tots ($15). The food was delicious, the fries and tater tots were perfectly fried to be crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The Sliders were portioned well for someone not looking to eat a whole burger, and tasted great with the toasted buns. They were loaded up with fresh vegetables of lettuce, tomato, and onion which in my personal taste overwhelmed the taste of the meat patty, but overall Sliders were a great lighter meal. The host greeted me upon entry and seated me quickly which could be because it wasn't too busy. My server was kind, welcoming, and very quick to address my needs so 5/5 customer service. Unfortunately, they were out of dessert but I would return to try it! Definitely a great place to return to.

If you're not online, this place would go unnoticed but shoutout to the birthday boy, my friend, as he has been here before and talked about it a lot. The wait is over and I must say I've been missing out. Hidden from street view, this spot has a great outdoor patio space. Skeptical we had a table there because we were eating during peak triple digit heat, but the space had everything to ensure guests were comfortable. Ceiling fans that actually work and water misters that didn't leave a wet mess. Incomes the drinks and food. Happy hour always makes me happy. Snagged a lager and brisket tacos. One could say it looks basic and nothing special but boy is it flavorful. Decently sized chunks of brisket. Nothing melt in your mouth but had that softness that made it easy to chew. The pairing of the sauce was nice to balance out the saltiness of the meat. Grab them tissues cause it's a juicy one. A bit pricey, $12 for 2 tacos but def a nice splurge. Down to business. Burger choice for my first visit, definitely not the last, was The Peach Pit - that double patty, rosemary aioli, bacon crumbles, Swiss cheese, spinach, and our house made peach chutney, served on a toasted brioche bun. Solid choice. The beef was juicy, cooked to my liking (surprised they didn't ask how we liked ours cooked). The cross section of the burger is elite. Layers of ingredients adding to the flavors of each bite. I'm a sucker for Tabasco sauce so I couldn't really taste the peach chutney, but I do remember what I believe was a peach slice fall out of the burger. 10/10 would recommend. Just be prepared to use the napkins. It's a sauce/juicy one. Fries were standard. Crisp, fresh. My friends ordered other burgers that looked good. I was able to try some of the garlic fries and pesto sauce. Rich and tasty. Trust. I will be back for their burgers sooner than later. Who is with me? Let's gooooo! Come here on a special day and you may get a birthday card as well! Great effort Brahma!

The hostess greeted us with a question. "You ladies came to drink or to eat?" She asked. We came for both! We sat outside near the entrance way. It was a nice shaded corner and it gave some privacy from the plants that were decorated along the entry way. The menu was small and interesting. First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. The ribs-10/10 fall off the bone seasoned well with some kind of green sauce at the bottom. The garlic shrimp- 10/10 in chili garlic oil with focaccia bread. Watermelon tomato salad- 10/10 feta cheese always takes the show! Beef sliders- 10/10 us just being greedy but so good. French fries- 9/10 decent portion! Blackened salmon- 8/10 compared to how flavorful the appetizer's were it made the salmon lack in taste. Something was missing but it was still good loved the coconut milk flavor in the jasmine rice! All in all 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Between the awkward service and 1.5+ hour wait for food, this celebration didn't go the way we'd hoped. We had a 6:30 reservation for a party of 7 to celebrate my engagement with family visiting from out of town. We placed our order right away but didn't receive our food until after 8pm. To make matters worse, one plate was missing entirely, and that guest had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to arrive. The server was apologetic about the wait and offered to comp our desserts as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. When the final plate arrived, we were quietly discussing the $3 avocado upcharge among ourselves, since the tacos came with barely a sliver of avocado. The server apparently overheard us, because she returned moments later, silently set down a small plate with extra avocado next to our food, and walked away without a word. The gesture felt pointed rather than helpful, and it left the table feeling uneasy. The food and drinks themselves were decent. But by 8:45, we didn't want to wait even longer for the comped desserts, so I asked if we could have our drinks comped instead, since a couple of the cocktails were priced similarly to the desserts (which ran up to $16). The server seemed uncomfortable and said she could only comp two desserts, offering 10% off the bill instead. This wasn't what had been discussed earlier, but at that point we just wanted to wrap up the night, especially since my parents had a long drive ahead. Given the service, we'd quietly decided as a table not to leave an additional tip, only to find a 20% automatic service charge already added for large parties. This came as a surprise since it wasn't disclosed anywhere on the menu. It's a shame, because it's genuinely a charming space. Unfortunately, the service that night fell short, and it really affected what should have been a special evening.

Food: There is a nice variety of food options as well as a special that our server thoroughly explained to us. We started with an appetizer of Brussels sprouts and a shared beet and apple salad. We settled on the salmon and penne vodka pasta for our entrees. The Brussel sprouts were so good with small strips of bacon and a nice aioli to dip them in. The Salad was complex and excellent and our entrees were absolutely outstanding. Salmon was cooked to perfection and the pasta was delicious with the perfect tenderness (I don't care for overcooked pasta). The sausages in the pasta were great and the sauce was rich. After dinner we both had coffee and tried their butterscotch pudding and a lemon cheesecake. OMG were they amazing!! I highly recommend either of them. Service: We had an amazing server, Kim, who was thorough, prompt and fun. Our salad, entree, and dessert were timed well and we never had to wait too long. I mentioned Fair Oaks Brew Pub as an option I found on Yelp &, as a local, he said it was a great choice. We almost immediately scored street parking only a few doors down. I'd never been to Old Fair Oaks Village before. Looking around, the little town center was more reminiscent of a historic gold country town up in the foothills than Sacramento suburban sprawl. The cutesy charm of the surroundings extended to Fair Oaks Brew Pub itself. Greeted as soon as we walked up, we chose to sit out in their inviting patio area on a perfect Spring day. Our server was along shortly. She was friendly, helpful, & the right amount of attentive. For brew pub fare, we both chose the Risky Burger. Essentially a Western bacon BBQ variation of their regular cheeseburger. Sides were upgraded to onion rings. For the brew, I got their Chicken Foot Pale Ale. Everything was up before long. The Risky Burger was outstanding. Crispy bacon, tasty onion rings (in the burger, as well as on the side), gooey melted cheese, & a perfectly cooked patty just juicy enough to turn the last bite or 2 of the whole burger into a bit of a mess. The Chicken Foot Pale Ale was decent for style, though a little old school in terms of recipe/ malts/ hops. Still, a refreshing pairing for the Risky Burger. All in all, Fair Oaks Brew Pub was a great spot to grab a bite & a beer in an unexpectedly scenic pocket of suburbia.

Surprisingly, there were plenty of open seats, so we grabbed two and let the hostess know we were set. The bartender greeted us almost immediately. We kicked things off with a couple of tall boys, an order of fried pickles (I'm a sucker for these and order them almost every time they appear on a menu), and of course some roasted peanuts. For my main, I was in a surf-and-turf mood and went with the 10 oz sirloin and grilled shrimp, plus a baked potato and Caesar salad. The sirloin was about what you'd expect for the price--not the most flavorful or tender cut, but it was cooked properly and satisfied the craving. The shrimp were a mixed bag: a bit overcooked and chewy, though they were bathed in garlic butter and came with a garlic aioli-style dipping sauce. The potato arrived crusted in salt and loaded with toppings. The Caesar came pre-tossed and leaned a little too heavy on the creamy/dairy side, but I still finished every bite. One thing I love about Texas Roadhouse is that you always know what you're going to get.
