Are you into Smokin' Fattys? That can mean so many things, but if you find yourself in Elkhart, IN, BBQ sounds like it would hit the spot... and it did. The Sampler was pretty good with excellent ribs, amazing chicken wings, fatty (a bit too much) pork belly and decent brisket served with your choice of sides (I got beans and slaw) and some type of jalapeño hush puppy thing (I think). Good stuff, but I wish I could build my own sampler as having both ribs and pork belly was a bit much. I wish they had a spicy BBQ sauce that wasn't mango. I'm not a fruity bbq guy so that just didn't do it for me. The other sauces were good though and I like they had more than one from which to choose. Service was pretty good and I was in and out fairly quickly, which was good as I was tired from traveling all day. Choices are kind of limited in the area, but this was a good choice and if I was back in the area, I'd go back here.

First time here. Loved the vibrant and unique decor inside the restaurant!! Staff friendly and hospitable. Food was delicious but the 45 minute wait for the food, when we were the one of three customers kept me from giving this restaurant a four star rating.

Food was pretty good. Wings tasty and sauce was good. Busch chicken was good. Green beans good but really slathered in bacon so don't order if you're vegetarian. Fries were delicious. Crispy (most of them). Lemonade tasted a bit watery and $3.25. Taco salad tortilla bowl was a bit greasy and overdone but it tasted okay. They forgot to add the chicken. But Candace noticed and brought it. The dressing or sauce or dressing had no flavor. Tasted like just sour cream and some bland lettuce. Decor is cool. Music peace and love. Had the Tom Petty table. We were hungry. It was late. Ate the food.

The food, atmosphere, and service never disappoint; and yes we do always order for late-night snacks and tomorrow's lunch. Thank you

Stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night in January. We called ahead to reserve a booth, which was a good idea as the place was pretty busy by the time we got there about 6:30pm. We appreciated the glass panels between the bar area and high walls between booths which made it easier to hear each other. The table was clean and comfortable. The place has several TV screens displaying sports games. We ordered the smokehouse combo, smoked chicken wings, and a couple extra sides. The smoked chicken wings arrived hot and crispy. They are smoked first and then flash fried which made the skins nice and crispy. They came with a ranch sauce, but we asked for their Alabama white sauce instead. The Alabama white sauce was a little different than we've had at other places, as it was a bit on the spicy side, which we loved! If you order the smoked chicken wings, be sure to ask for the Alabama white! The smokehouse combo came with ribs, pulled pork, brisket, pork belly and jalapeno corn bread. The ribs were perfectly cooked and came with a sweet glaze. They were sweet, tender, and delicious. The pulled pork was tender and was best mixed with a bit of their coleslaw and some of the white bread that comes with it. The pork belly was a nice surprise, as it was tender and had some great bark. The brisket was ok, but not my thing. For our side items, we ordered the coleslaw, campfire beans, elote corn and something called Gigi Sue's cabbage. The coleslaw was wonderful, perfect combination of sweet and tangy. The campfire beans were just sweet enough, and the elote corn was amazing. The wild card was Gigi Sue's cabbage, which was interesting for something different. It tasted just shy of sauerkraut, and the bits of bacon helped keep it reigned in. The bottom line is that this place has some real serious barbecue, great sides and wonderful service. Glad we stopped in!

Said we'd be back and we did. Carry-out called in our order for 1/2 pound pulled pork dinner and 1/2 smoked chicken with potatoes and their fantastic beans. The blackberry bread pudding for desert. OMG so frickin Good! The entrees were delicious and the sides were impeccable with so much flavor. Their bread pudding is amazing. My order was ready in less than 20 min. All for less than $40.00. Again, we'll be back.

We love Smokin' Fattys and come at least once a week. The staff is great, the food is awesome, and the desserts are incredible. Always a great experience!

When the cheese curds arrived, we thought they brought the wrong dish since we'd never seen them in cube form, but they were amazing! Every item we tried was fantastic. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

This was a ToGo order so I am judging harshly based on that. Ordered 8 wings, fries, and the Gigi cabbage. Wings were decent. Drums are large and meaty. Flats good as well. Got 2 sauces sweet and mango habanero. Both were good. Mango habanero is not hot so anyone can try it. Sides were cold and very mediocre. Fries were wilty and cold. Cabbage was barely warm and had no real flavor. Best thing was the wings. Healthy crowd when I picked up my food. Decent looking bar. Bartenders were hopping around and were busy. Very nice and friendly. In town for business. Staying at one of the hotels and wanted to eat something easy with good reviews. Just OK. Here is a big thing. The menu on YELP is only about 50% accurate. They do not have a lot on there. That was annoying.

I was Seated right away and introduced to my waitress, Taylor, immediately. Taylor deserves special accolades. She was so friendly and caring; she made my dining experience special. Thank you Taylor!! Taylor was awesome; she was friendly, always checking on me and sincerely concerned about my satisfaction. She was willing to do anything to make things right if I wasn't happy with something. First I ordered the Crab Cakes as an appetizer. Then I ordered off the specials menu; a Japanese spiced Branzino dish. The crab cakes were somewhat disappointing. Mostly filler and not much crab taste. Sometimes the taste actually resembled a tuna fish sandwich. The remoulade sauce that came with the crab cakes was really tasty. I wasn't really happy with the branzino dish. The fish was cooked pretty well, but "in my opinion" It had too much seasoning and the seasoning had an off flavor. Could just be my personal tastes. The restaurant has a lot of seating, little nooks and corners and a bar with seating. Plenty of quiet areas and areas to gather as a large group as well. Even though I didn't have great food choices today; I'm pretty sure while I'm in town this weekend, I'll go back and try some different dishes. See you all soon!!

The service was fantastic, even made a few jokes. The place is beautiful and the views are nice. Focaccia - $13 - I asked if this was house made bread, and they said yes, so I went with this over the Burrata appetizer. The bread was fantastic, and the whipped ricotta was delicious. It's simple but very good. 5/5 stars. Lobster Bisque - $15 - Good flavor, decent amount of lobster. I was pleasantly surprised how good this was. 5/5 stars. Cascade Salad - $9 or $14 - This was pretty good as well. A different family member ordered this and I was also pleasantly surprised again. It ALMOST makes me want to order it (if they didn't have lobster bisque). 5/5 stars. 16oz Ribeye with Black Truffle Butter - $78 + $4 - The sear was perfect, the medium rare cook was spot on, and the flavor couldn't be better (well, almost, because my Black Truffle Butter was more like wine butter). Here's my gripe, if you put something was Black Truffle Butter why on earth is there wine?! My body can't process alcohol (which is why I don't drink), and when I taste uncooked alcohol, all I taste is alcohol. So, this was my only gripe. I couldn't taste any truffle, just alcohol. I had to switch with my husband for parts of his New York Strip, and he took the parts of my steak that had the truffle butter. 5/5 stars, but the Truffle Butter 0/5 stars. 14oz New York Strip - $69 - Perfect sear, cook, and flavor. You really can't go wrong with the steaks here. 5/5 stars. Grilled Asparagus - $14 - Perfectly cooked, and not stringy. 5/5 stars. Au Gratin Potatoes - $14 - These potatoes everyone loved. Normally, I'm not a bread crumb topping person, but it works here. 5/5 stars. Mashed Potato - $12 - These are just typical steakhouse mashed potatoes. Smooth and good, you couldn't make them better, but they get outshined by all the other dishes. 5/5 stars. Creme Brulee - $9 - This was to die for. Whatever cream they use is so good. One of the best creme brulees you could ever get. 5/5 stars. I apologize for the lack of picture, apparently I was so excited that I just forgot to take one. This place is one of the best restaurants in Indiana. You need to go here. Just don't get the truffle butter, unless you like alcohol. Everything else is amazing.

It was one of the better restaurant experiences that we've had recently. Located a mile north of the Indiana Toll Road, we found this place based on a search knowing this area was where we wanted to stop for dinner on our traverse to Chicago. It looked like a fun spot from the description and was certainly something different. An additional consideration was that we had our 21-month-old granddaughter and needed a place where we could so find something that appealed to her. Burgers are usually a good bet. The location on Simonton Lake was beautiful. It facilitated a treat before we ever stepped into the restaurant. There was a family of swans on the water with the parents and their six cygnets. They were indeed fun to watch. The lake created a wonderful setting from the outset. Upon entry, we were greeted by the friendly staff and were accommodated with a booth in the main dining room quickly. Our waitress, Kayla, attended to us right away and did a terrific job. We were well cared for during our visit. The food was delivered in a timely fashion without undue delay. We started with an order of Onion Rings, which turned out to be a great choice. They were crispy with flavorful breading that was not so thick as to be overwhelming. We also tried a couple of cocktails. While we like a glass of wine with our meal, we're not really cocktail people. But these intrigued us. I tried the Peach Sangria, which was very good. My wife had the Jameson Ginger Sparkler. Jameson and Ginger Ale has been a favorite of hers since we experienced the Jameson Factory tour in Dublin several years ago. This concoction was a nice take on that theme. Both drinks were "dangerous" because they were so tasty that you didn't notice they contained alcohol. In spite of the fact that this is primarily a burger pub, we found two salads that intrigued us for our mains. One was actually in keeping with the theme of the restaurant, as my wife had the Flippin Burger Salad. As the name suggests, it featured burger on greens with her choice of honey mustard dressing. She shared that with our granddaughter. They were both happy with the choice. I had the Flippin Whitefish Salad. The fish was nicely done and it seemed appropriate since we were by the lakeshore. I found it to be quite satisfying with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Unfortunately, they no longer make their Mango Chardonnay Dressing that used to accompany this salad. I've never had the chance to try it but it sounds like they should consider bringing it back. The total for our meals with food, drinks, tax and tip was $68. At $34 each as well as having enough to feed a toddler, we were very happy with this given the experience. We'll look forward to a return visit now that we know this place is there.
