I arrived roughly around 2pm. Starting with the greeting, the women that took my order was extremely pleasant. I had a nice conversation with her while waiting on my order. The restaurant in itself didn't seem to have AC going at the time although it was a very hot day. Also, there wasn't much seating. However, the restaurant was clean. I ordered the large rib tips, which come with steak fries. I also requested that they mix the standard bbq sauce with the hot bbq sauce. I also got a hot link. Rating Breakdown: Taste: 10 - I just wished there was more. Cut: 6 - As seen in the picture, the ribs are very thin. BBQ Sauce Mixed: 1000, why isn't this in a bottle. Note, you must like spicy. Steak Fries: 8 - Again, portion l, but I'm a bit of a fryacolic. They were also cooked a little over the just crispy mark. Hot link: 10 - I am very picky with my incased meats, and this by far might be the best. On a side note, i was surprised to see they didn't offer one dessert option.

It was the end of the year, I had heard great things and I was in the area. Of course I had to stop in and see what all the excitement was. After all BBQ is one of the reviews you will see time and time again from me. From the outside you will see a small building, definitely a family owned kind of situation. Although that could have gone bad or good. The service was great, the price was better than most places and the quality has made it to the top of my list for this area. Actually it's my top choice across several states. The sauce had the perfect combo of sweet, crunchy, with tangy. The ribs themselves had the crispy textures you crave with fall off the bone bonus points. Once I actually tasted the ribs themselves it was nothing, but flavor. The fries were fries, nothing new there, but a must have when eating Ribs. I highly recommend checking out this family own delight if you are anywhere near the Niles area. I'm calling out to travelers in Ohio and Illinois as well. Just call ahead because food this good is difficult to keep on hand.

I had the rib tips and a hot link which tasted like a polish sausage but it was still good.

The food was disappointing. The chicken was dried out and the sides were mediocre. Service is good.

I was a certified Memphis BBQ Network judge and also held that credential with the KC BBQ Society. My BBQ consumption regularly lands me in hot water with my PPC on a number of issues; it is what it is. So imagine my surprise when I drove into the parking lot and saw a big pile of real hardwood stacked in the back. I was optimistic. And I wasn't disappointed. My original plan was to have some brisket (woefully largely missing from the local Memphis scene) but when the proprietor offered the option of a brisket and rib combo, I jumped on it. Here's the deal: this guy knows what he's doing smoking meats. The ribs were as good as my Memphis favorites at Cozy Corner and I've never said that about ribs anywhere in Memphis or elsewhere. The brisket a perfect 10 - perfectly seasoned, beautiful smoke ring and juicy without being fatty. Neither the ribs nor the brisket wanted for any sauce, but the two I sampled should be bottle and sold at Amazon. That's enough, you should get the point (and the flat and the ribs!!). Bon appetite

Dean's BBQ, located in Granger, Indiana, is only about a year old and is already a local favorite!…read moreMy boyfriend and I were in the area in June 2026 and we were enticed by the menu and good reviews on Yelp so we had dinner here. Tl;dr - we loved it and are looking forward to coming back here many more times! So it isn't a large space. But we didn't have to wait for a table. There is also a somewhat open kitchen for the curious diners who enjoy watching chefs at work. There's a printed menu but there are also many chalkboards on the walls around the small space that list the specials. Our service was fast and the place was well-staffed. We stuck to ordering off the regular menu except for our drinks. I was impressed by the prices of the drinks, especially the for mocktails. We also agreed that the prices for the merch were decent, especially the sweatshirt, which was only $35. My boyfriend, who is not a beer drinker, got the Vandermill apple cider ($5), made in Grand Rapids, MI. I got the 3 Floyd's Zombie Dust APA ($7.50), a famous Munster, Indiana brewery that has won a plethora of awards over the years. I got a little tipsy from it, ngl. We were craving different items to eat so my boyfriend got the Dean's Burger with wagyu beef and pork with a side of mac and cheese ($19). It was so juicy and the cheese pull was insane! I love brisket so I had to try theirs so I got the brisket sandwich with fries ($18). The brisket was delicious and the bun was of good quality. I had to add a little more sauce to it though. Also, the homemade ketchup tasted a bit apple butter-y! Crazy delicious! They said it had cloves in it. I tried to eat as slow as I could to make it last and was so sad when I finished my food. It was all soooo good! Overall, our meal cost a bit over $60 after tax and tip. We joined the rewards program and we WILL be back!

One piece of pork about the size of a finger was burnt and hard. The bottom of the bun was burnt black. The worst burger I've had in the county. Half of the fries were tiny end pieces. Hardly any salt on them and no salt available on the table. There were only 6 people in the restaurant yet it seemed to take forever to get food. The server was very nice though. The place has a nice bar vibe. Honestly for a burger that costs nearly 20 dollars I expect it to be a lot better.

I arrived in town earlier than expected after a 3-hour drive and was looking for something to eat…read moreand drink. Unfortunately, options were limited--mostly fast food and a few pubs that were closed at the time. This restaurant was open, so I decided to give it a shot. The place was nearly empty, aside from a few locals. It's a surprisingly large space, which only made the emptiness more noticeable. The tap list was underwhelming--mostly domestics like Bud and Busch, along with a heavy focus on IPAs (not my thing). I ended up ordering a Corona, but it was clearly skunked, likely from sitting too long--suggesting slow turnover and possibly overstocked inventory. I ordered the half rack of ribs with baked beans and their corn coleslaw. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The ribs were lukewarm, dry, and lacked flavor. No BBQ sauce was brushed on or offered--which is surprising for a BBQ joint. The beans tasted canned, and the corn coleslaw, while creative in concept, just didn't work in execution. No pickles, no bread, no condiments--nothing to round out the plate. I get that this is a small town, but when you're the only BBQ spot around, there's a real opportunity to stand out. Sadly, this place missed the mark. I don't like leaving below-average reviews, but in this case, I had to be honest.
