The restaurant was an old Long John Silvers that had been converted. You could still tell as it needs updated. However the food is amazing. We ordered the smoked turkey breast sandwich and rib tips and brisket with fries and coleslaw. The brisket and the smoked turkey were some of the best we've ever had. The rib tips were up there too but the others stood out. The cole slaw was just average. The 2 bbq sauces were amazing and I believe those were the only two they had. I ordered lunch for an office I call on, and I did it sight unseen. I was a little skeptical when I pulled up to the building. However, any doubts I may have had were quickly erased when I arrived at my customer and opened the box of beef brisket. Wow, delicious! Great char, just the right amount of smoke and tender and juicy as it should be. The mac and cheese was a huge hit. No roux replacement for cheese here, it was all cheese and my customers loved it. I also ordered some pulled chicken that got lots of comments about how uniquely seasoned and delicious it was. There wasn't anything that everyone didn't like from the corn bread to the baked beans, it was all good. Once again, don't judge a book by its cover. I might not have ordered from here if I just drove by. But because I needed something in less than 24 hrs for a group of 15, I took a chance and I'm glad I did. I'll be back for sure. read more

This is slap yo' Daddy good. If my kids had Bill's brisket they would never eat mine again. The brisket is beyond tender it's moist packed with flavor and a crunchy bark. Bill's was good, probably some of the better in Michiana! It's not St. Louis or Kansas city amazing, but it's good for northern Indiana. I was disappointed about the selection of BBQ sauces because there wasn't any. To get any additional BBQ sauce you had to request it, there was none at the tables like you would normally see in a BBQ joint and there was only 1 kind available. I missed the selection and availability that is normally ample and expected. A little on the pricey side for BBQ and sides. The sides were good though! We really did enjoy the macaroni 'n cheese and potato salad - recommended. And the pulled pork was tender. The wings got a thumbs up as well. read more

My friend and I went here. I had the fried seasoned White fish pieces and it was wonderful. The portion size was large for the money and it did not have a fishy taste. I will be back again for the fish. For the sides I had the three cheese macaroni which had a great taste but the portion size was small. I think I got the equivalent of 2-3 tablespoons. The other side was French fries. The next time I go I'll ask for more to the side. I also had the corn bread which was okay but I prefer how my mother made it which didn't have a lot of sugar to it and it and had more of a corn taxte to it. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich, potato salad and baked beans. He said that the sandwich was very soft, tender, easy to chewy and the taste was excellent. He also said he enjoyed the beans and potato salad. My friend and I will be back sometime in the future. The only down fall for me was the seating. I prefer a table and chair with a back to it. Portions were on the small side for a $23 lunch, I finished my meal and definitely wasn't stuffed. Also bothered me a bit that they charge extra for a tiny cup of extra sauce. The two sides that i chose were Mac and cheese and baked beans. Both were very good. When I paid for my meal I told them to keep the change for their great service and food, and they expressed how much they appreciated the tip. This is not fast food. Sought out Bill's BBQ based on the Local TV Commercial. The Brisket Sandwich was the highlight and Worth the trip. Their Rib Tips were tender and the sauce is phenomenal! I Want to go back and buy my own bottle to take home. I would say that Bills is a Good BBQ place. Expect $$$$Pricey Quality$$$$ not Quantity. I got a 1/2 Tip and a 1/2 Tip Basket too, you'll get way more tips from Frankies BBQ in South Bend, but at least at Bills you get great, flavorful meat that is not burnt, dry, or thinly sliced. had this before it was good, this time not so much. rib tips ice cold (I live around the corner). got the scrapings of the mac and cheese, it was dry. Green beans good, after I warmed them up. Stopped by after seeing their sign from the road. The place is setup in an old Long John Silver's location. Inside decor is nice and laid back with some great food smells on the air when you walk in. The place is nice and clean. Service was fast and friendly. The food we ordered was the Ribs and Chicken combo with 2 sides (we chose their green beans and Mac n' Cheese) and the catfish sandwhich special with fries and a drink. We definately liked the ribs, they had a good rich smoked flavor and they coat them lightly with a bit of sauce also some of which sits in the bottom under the healthy portion of ribs and is great for dipping. The chicken was ok and today they had white meat quarter along with the ribs. The chicken was not moist and was a bit dry. The green beans were very good and coming in second on the sides the Mac n Cheese which had a decent amount of cheese and some nice ham added in but were a bit bland. We were unfortunately less than impressed with the catfish sandwhich which, while containing a decent breaded catfish fillet, had nothing else save the cheap store bought hamburger bun. No toppings. Would have liked to see some pickle slices, iceburg lettuce and tomato slices as options at least. They did have pre-packaged mayo and tartar sauce behind the counter though. The french fries were just average. No double fry here to be found nor nice crisp outside with tender middle. All in all will come back for the ribs and the green beans which were fantastic.
