Special burger for the day - combo brisket, rib, pulled pork.

We had the salad with brisket as well as the Special burger for the day - combo brisket, rib, pulled pork which came with some pickles. The brisket was perfect - tender and succulent. Fast and friendly service. Super clean toilets. And ample parking.

Lots of seating both inside and outside, fantastic bbq, and fast if a bit cranky service. Definitely the best dinner option in the area! The brisket sandwich was delicious as was the jalapeno Mac and cheese. So good!!

Ribs and Mac and cheese aren't good.Ribs were salty. The brisket and baked beans were very good.

Not much of getting in remote and tiny Beatty so this was it for us. The baked beans were different and very good. Brisket is good. I didn't like the ribs as it's too salty. And the Mac and cheese were below average. The place had a steady crowd on a Saturday night though.

Delish!!!! Stopped in for take away as we were camping in Beatty, NV. What a great find! The pulled pork was so flavorful, the jalapeño mac n Cheese had just the right amount of kick and the beans were smoky and had bits of meat. The coleslaw was creamy with piece of pineapple. A true delight. The restaurant is clean and open. Outdoor seating available-we were trying to get back to the RV park before rain hit so we took it to go. The order counter had a sign that said wait times may be a bit long due to staffing issues-but we felt like it was standard time and the staff was lovely

The best mac n cheese I've ever had!! We stopped here for dinner on a Sunday night during a fun weekend trip to Death Valley. We arrived 35 minutes before closing time, and because the service was so fast, we were able to make it out on time! We ordered the brisket bomb sandwich, the pulled pork sandwich, jalapeno cheddar sausages, and their homemade banana pudding for dessert. The banana pudding tasted exactly like banana cream pie! In general, the portions were generous. Only wish the ribs were a little bit cheaper, or we would have tried them too. Staff was all super friendly. Restrooms were clean. Interior of the restaurant was very country-esque, no frills and casual.

Don't drive by turn in!

I was surprised to find one of the best BBQ spots in Beatty NV. Came up to see the small towns Museums and Cemetery and new I was going to eat before head back to Vegas so Smoking J's BBQ is where we ended up. Pull apart tender brisket was properly rendered. Homemade juicy sausage that you can tell they ground up their own meat. Ribs with a nice thick smoke ring that just fell off the bone. They add a extra ingredient to the slaw that gives it a nice welcomed sweetness and let me tell you in the many many many times I have eaten Mac N Cheese this was by far the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. Better than any box, better than anyone's homemade, better than any BBQ places I have ever eaten at (Texas included). If there was one negative thing about it.......... It'sabout 1.5 hours away from my house so I need to find an excuse to drive up there again. It's worth it! Drive up make a morning of it and stop by for a meal.

Yum yum!

I drive 60 miles to have delicious BBQ. My favorites are the ribs and pulled pork. Side dishes are unique; creamy cole slaw with pineapple, spicy jalapeño mac and cheese, and flavorful BBQ beans.

There aren't many dining options in Beatty, but this spot is by far one of the best. My boyfriend and I were in town for four days, and we loved the food here so much that we came back for dinner twice. Both times, we ordered a pound of brisket to share, along with baked beans and mac and cheese. The brisket was perfectly smoked and incredibly tender, practically melting in our mouths. The baked beans were full of flavor--though, fair warning, they did leave us feeling a little gassy. And the mac and cheese? So rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The woman at the counter was so kind and welcoming. She gave us great recommendations and was a pleasure to chat with, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere inside is warm and cozy, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long day in Death Valley. If you find yourself in the area, I'd highly recommend stopping by for a meal--you won't be disappointed.

Likes: + Enthusiastic, friendly, helpful staff. + Soda machine on the side. + Good amount of indoor seating. + Plenty of restrooms. + Well priced. + Clean, pleasant interior decor. . They open until 8pm. Finish your hike in time! Non-likes: - The tall paper towel dispenser placed at the center of each table blocks your view of your friend sitting across from you. The dispenser should be shorter. - No fruits. - They were out of fries. I had: $9.99 Salad + $2.25 Small drink + tax = $13.17

We were staying in Beatty for our trip to Death Valley and this was easily the best restaurant! We called in an order for four people and pick-up was about 25 minutes. Service was super friendly at the counter. There's a lot of indoor and patio seating (string lights outdoors was very pretty). The ribs here were the favorite--tender and juicy, and the additional BBQ sauce was tangy. They also gave toast with the different meats so it was more filling. The jalepeño in the mac and cheese provided a nice kick to the creamy sauce, and I loved the corn in it too. We also enjoyed the homemade banana cream pie for dessert.

Good food but they kinda rush you to finish and leave. A bit pricey. Ribs world be my recommendation.

Great food. Don't drive by. Stop and have lunch or dinner. Can't say enough about their barbecue. The meat melts in your mouth.

The delicious delicious jalapeño Mac n cheese is rich and creamy. The banana pudding is very gritty in texture.

Went SXS riding in Beatty and this was definitely the best place we ate at in town. It is counter service with open seating.

That's exactly why Shelly's Bagels has become my favorite breakfast spot. My go-to order is the Asiago bagel with scallion cream cheese, and I honestly crave it. It's fresh, delicious, and consistently excellent. Just as important is the amazing customer service. Missy has a gift for making customers feel appreciated. Her warm smile and positive attitude brighten my mornings, and I know I'm not the only customer who feels that way. In today's world, businesses sometimes forget how important kindness and hospitality are. Shelly's Bagels gets it right. Great bagels, great people, and a place that always leaves me in a better mood than when I arrived. Highly recommended.

I drove here from Vegas for a mini adventure and some NY bagels because this NYer needed some…read moreauthentic bagels in her life. I had some high hopes...but at 11am on a Sunday...the selection is fairly dismal. They said they had a big church crowd and they still had two more hours to go. They close at 1pm in the summer. I understand that Pahrump is not huge and this is a small business so probably when product runs out it runs out. But there were maybe 19 bagels left...I took three. I really wanted to try the cheddar bagel. I am on the hunt for the perfect cheddar bagel. I used to know where to find them, but then they switched the recipe. I'm looking for a cheddar bagel that actually has cheddar inside it not just on top of it that gets burnt when you toast it. I had one with egg and Swiss on it and then I had another one with butter on it, and there was a lot of butter on it. They were not shy with the butter. These bagels were good. Drive an hour to get them good? No. Good if you live in the same area code...yes., I had a blueberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese to go, and I had it later that day and it still tasted really fresh. The honey almond cream cheese was really good. Had a nice flavor, but the blueberry bagel to me tasted just sweet, but I really wouldn't have been able to tell it was blueberry if there weren't a few blue specks in it. They seem to have a really good menu, but they just don't have the stock and like I said part of that is a me issue because I did go later in the day and this is a small business so I do understand that you don't want to waste product, but... don't say you're going to be open until a certain time and have a really slim selection. I wanted an apple fritter they don't have them but if you go on Friday or Saturday, they'll probably have them, but they don't do them on Sundays. Why have it on the menu if you're not gonna do it every day? And then there's a secret menu that's not so secret which is kind of funny to me written on the dry erase board. It should be the not so secret menu. It's not a huge place, but it has some comfortable looking tables there's games there's a little area with some tumblers made by a local artist , the people who were working were extremely friendly. In all honesty I would've given this place 3.5 stars, but I rounded up to a 4 because I don't think they deserve only a three. The bagels seem fairly priced. Right around $5 for a bagel with cream cheese. For three bagels and a drink plus tip it was about $25.00.

(If you don't want to bring your customers' food outside to them, change your policy and have us pick it up inside. Or just don't TELL us how much we are inconveniencing them!) I wasn't hungry, so I can't personally comment on the food, but my friends were definitely not impressed with their pulled pork sandwich and wings (although our neighboring diner's pizza looked pretty good, in hindsight). The saving grace is the bar, which has a couple of good beers on draft (try the Badwater Blonde). It was nice to sip a few brews outside beneath the date trees, and unlike our surly food waitress, our bartender had no problem with us taking our items outside. Seems to me the owners of this "diner" (which is more like a grab-and-go cafeteria) think their customers are a captive audience who will buy whatever they offer, so they're not making much of an effort. But for those of you with vehicles (and I assume that's most of you visiting Death Valley), save your money and head up the road for great food and service at the Badwater Saloon. You won't be disappointed.
