The food takes a while to come, but that just means that it is all freshly prepared, and the staff are so nice and even give free samples. I went with the Kids meal brisket with the Potato salad and added a Sweet potato with the candied pecan butter. I seriously have no words -- all of these things were so delicious, and the amount of meat that you get even with the kids meal is more than enough to fill me up, especially with the rich sweet potato and potato salad on the side. I will be back as soon as I can, their hours are limited, and the drive is a little out of the central Denver area, but it is so worth it

The brisket and pork were both dry and had no smoke flavor. The rib was so small (an end piece) that they gave me 2; they were both overcooked and had very little meat on them. The sides were the only good part of this meal, but sides do not great barbecue make, hence the 2 stars. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pitmaster visited our table and took our criticism with good grace, even offering to replace our food to see if they could do better, but I was done. I won't be returning.

Cut wrong or with some gristle. Not a tender bite. But I also ordered brisket. Although not as good as I'm used to, at least it was tender and flavorful. But it was sliced thin and shoulda been thicker slices with more burnt edges. My sister liked.her chicken although it looked a bit dry, my uncle seemed to really enjoy his ribs. My brother didn't seem to be as picky as me about his burnt ends, he said it was good. So perhaps my standards are too high. This place feels like it may not last -- it's in a great location and should have had way more people dining in -- and I think the owner needs to invest in another bbq chef who can bring a bit more magic to the food, especially the burnt ends, the brisket and the sides. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars -- were it just me it would be 3, but with the rest of my party, a 4 -- plus the cleanliness and bright atmosphere and great service, a 4 is deserved.
