    Muffuletta sandwich

Love the shop but the sandwiches will keep me coming back whenever I am in the neighborhood. Tried the muffuletta and it was incredible, my sister got their Italian and raved about it so I already know what I'm getting next round.

Such a great lunch at Smoking Goose! I had the Three Little Pigs which was packed with high-quality meats that were flavorful and satisfying. Everyone in my group was thrilled with their selections. The staff was genuinely kind and helpful, especially when picking out exactly what we wanted. After lunch, I enjoyed walking around the store and checking out all the local and artisanal products they had and trying out the free samples. It was a fun and delicious experience all around!

Italian sandwich sent me to heaven. Came in on a Saturday afternoon to a short staffed store putting together large catering orders and Stephanie still gave us stellar service. Thank y'all!!!

Came to your store for sandwiches. While one sandwich was good the tuna was not. My guest was sick several hours after eating. Called your store that day and felt whoever took my call had no interest in what I had to say. Several days later I pulled out the pigs ear I had purchased for my dog and it was moldy.

Not only do they make the meats in house, but they also offer artisanal foods from mostly local vendors and a few unusual products from farther aways. You can usually find everything here to make a killer charcuterie board or a fancy dinner... You can stop by for lunch and have them make you one of their yummy sandwiches. You can even order catering... or bulk orders if you are in the food industry... or order on line... or take food related classes... BUT, what I want to review is the tours they offer nowadays. I found out that they now offer tours on select Saturdays. It did cost roughly $20, but it is so worth it. First off you get to suit up... yep, smock, hair net, beard net if applicable (my 3 chin whiskers did not warrant that fortunately) and shoe covers. Making everyone look equally dorky... selfie time... The guide talks a bit about the business in general and then we are off to discover the salami making process... actually all their smoked meats... You will see and smell the meats in various stages, yes smell... some good, some not so much We hear a bit about the history of the company, the processes, the warehousing, the mail order, the store... This tour is very informative. After the tour and after shedding your fashionable attire everyone gathered in the employee breakroom to sample some of the things we had seen on the tour. She explained each item on our little plates. Then we were offered packages of smoked meats to take home with us, along with postcards, buttons and stickers. Even better, we received a store discount for all of our purchases. I so highly recommend this taking this tour. It is a truly unique thing to do here in Indy and a must for every foodie.

Oh my bejesus! It's all true! Considering the current number of reviews (81), this could be the most undiscovered, uncharted, and under patronized sandwich shop in Indy. Finally, I ordered the muffuletta, and it did not disappoint. The absolute closest I have found in Indy that screams NOLA. No knock on the SG mothership, but you can't make a muffuletta without a sesame bun/bread, and the addition of craft smoked ham crushes anything I have had in Indiana Highly recommend this place! (Side note, I got carry out, fancy plate and table not included )

Love how helpful this staff is with gift giving. Even when purchasing for myself they made great suggestions. I find their products all over the place and still love going into their store front. They do bacon really well and their wall of dried meats are extremely flavorful. This truly can be a one stop shop for charcuterie board ingredients.

The employees that work there today was very disrespectful and I never want to recommend anyone at this shop unless you are talking with the owner. I'm going to consult with him about this because i spend a lot of money here and unfortunately I never want to again due to the disrespect I just received today.... spend your money somewhere else due to the non professional staff they have.

I also got 3 pounds of chicken legs and two of the pork fritters because they were $1.50 today. The young man who helped me was very helpful and let me swap out one of the items. he also let me know where their meat was sourced from. I believe they said the pork and chicken was from Delphi and the beef was from Midwest. They were all friendly while very busy. After I ordered, there was a large group of people, so I guess I got in at a good time! I loved my last bundle and I'm sure this one's going to be equally as good. The prices May be going up a little bit shortly, but right now they're honoring the prices that are listed on the boards. They also go through each of the orders with you to make sure you have every item in your bundles. Go check it out!

I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

I have recently been to Goose twice, both for different things. The first visit was for the bacon…read moremaking class, and the second was to pick up my bacon, and trying some of the sandwiches they have. Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. The information provided at the beginning of the class didn't flow the best, and used a lot of terms I didn't understand- knowing your audience is important. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.
