    Latte!

I was looking for coffee in area and found Nook. Order a hot Breville latte. two barista's were helping me I like the fact that you can watch them make the latte. I have some questions answered my questions. The coffee bar was very well set up and my picture tells it all good to the last drop!

Look, I've been a fan of Nook for the past few years. I've literally been to every location (technically not Costa Mesa--it was closed when I passed by but potayto potahto haha). The real ones know this is the best matcha out there. Literally, Nook has never failed me. So when the news broke out about their new La Palma location, I was all in and ready to cross this one off my list. Didn't walk, but RAN. Matcha? No notes. Same creamy nutty umami consistency as usual, and I don't feel like a cow because I'm not tasting grass here. Inside has a nice luxurious wood design, but seating is super limited (just once small bench against a wall). But fear not, there is a good amount of common outside seating shared by the other businesses in the plaza. Service is quality, just like the others. Conclusions? The best of the best did it yet again. Come here for a good time, not a long time (because little seating). I'll stay posted for their next location lol.

So glad Nook opened a location super close to my house. I recall trying its original Costa Mesa location few years ago and I loved the Hawaiian inspired flavors. I just hated the location because of horrible parking, so I never went back after my first try. I was a fan of its cold brew drink The Nook Way so I ordered it again at this location. It's a chicory infused cold brew with hazelnut syrup and oat milk. Also enjoyed Island Matcha, which is made with oat milk, and coconut and macadamia syrup. Service was ok. Got the job done, but that's about it. Nothing extra, just like at the other location. There are few communal benches inside but no tables. Not sure if that will change after grand opening. It's still in its soft opening. There are tables and chairs outside, however.

I'm so happy there's a new Nook Coffee close by to me! I've tried the Costa Mesa location before and loved it. Love the clean, minimal interior and friendly service! The coffee is delicious and creamy. I love that they have a discounted breakfast bowl deal from Maxwell house next door, when you buy a coffee from Nook! It's a steal

Been looking forward to the opening of this location because it's so much closer to me! I've tried the Costa Mesa and Torrance locations and loved my drinks at both. And this location is just as good! Very small inside, no tables, just benches. There are tables outside (pretty sure they're for the surrounding businesses though). Consistent menu and pricing. Friendly staff. -Coastline Cold Brew: I always get this and it tasted consistent with the Costa Mesa location. Great balance of coffee bitterness and sweetness of coconut. One of my favorite coffees. 5/5 -Matcha Latte: I got this sweetened and it was good too! I will say though that if you don't drink it right away and just take occasional sips it does get pretty watered down easily. But still a solid matcha. 4/5 Note: As with any coffee shop, it depends which baristas are making your drinks. I've been here a few times already and one time I ordered an iced Spanish latte for a family member and it wasn't very good according to them. It did look very very light and milky when the barista poured it into the cup. I'm pretty sure the barista was still training so totally understandable. But the other days I went, the drinks were amazing so I'd say that even if you have a not so great experience one day here, try it again just in case because this coffee chain has always been good for me! Overall, I'm so happy that Nook opened a location closer to me! It's one of my faves! I think they're doing a great job with their soft opening.

Yay so happy to have a nook coffee bar closer to me. I've been to the Costa Mesa and Rancho location multiple times They're doing their soft opening hours currently and I came 1 hour before closing. Not too many people were there and I received my drink very quickly! I tried the matcha coconut which was good but I think I prefer coconut flavor for my coffee. I can't wait to come back to try other drinks

Heard new coffee shop is opened next to my house, I had to check it out since I love coffee and match latte. parking is good, can't say parking lot is huge, but the mall itself is not too busy, so it shouldn't be challenging. Interior is simple and clean, very minimalized which i like, but no table inside so Can't bring my laptop there, there are sittings outside of the cafe, now, most importantly coffee! I ordered honey oat milk latte. coffee taste good and sweetness is perfect for me, If you ask me 'is it outstanding?' I would say 'hmmmm' but Is it good? i would say yes, service is good, no complain about it. If you are coffee lover! try this place out.

    Behind the Popeyes

I had a great experience at the Torrance location, so I was looking forward to this new location in La Palma opening! It's the soft opening right now, so they're only open until Tuesday to Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm for now. They're in the plaza behind the Popeyes, so it's a bit hard to see from Valley View. There is parking right in front and fairly easy to find in this lot. For all the hardcore coffee folks, this place has legit coffee. It's not burnt-tasting like Starbucks, and they make all their syrups in house. We ordered a honey lavender latte and a house cold brew. Sometimes cold brews can taste a bit sour and fruity, which I dislike, but the cold brew was easy to drink, and nice and smooth. The honey lavender latte had a nice balanced flavor. Some places make it taste so much like lavender that it masks the coffee, but this had a good ratio of coffee taste with the lavender simply adding to it to make a great latte. The staff were great, from the person who took our order to the barista who made our drink. The store is on the smaller side without any tables/chairs inside. There's a bench to sit on while you wait, but there are a good number of tables outside. They have nice little touches like free dog treats, so they're clearkly pet friendly! Overall, this is a great coffee shop, and I'm so glad they opened in this area! I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Welcome to our "neck of the woods," Nook! Kind of hidden behind Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and adjacent to Ribs and Rice Hawaiian BBQ. Super friendly service and delicious, high quality coffee and matcha.

    Iced Matcha

The service at Nook was great, the barista was very kind and welcoming. The cafe is very clean and displays the products they use which is really nice. The matcha latte was good, just a little too light for my preference.

I came across this place while looking for a new coffee shop to try near me. I decided to stop by since it's new and highly rated, and it did not disappoint! I was pleased to see a large selection of drinks as well as alternative milks, including almond, oat, etc. I tried the iced vanilla latte with almond milk, which was fabulous and refreshing. Service was friendly and prompt, and the interior was simple and clean. Would definitely come by again to try their matcha and other drinks!

I was on my way to Starbucks when I saw this place and I quickly did a skrrt skrrrt and checked this place out. So cute. So simple and open. I loved it. I was greeted with a warm smile from a lady (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) beautiful smile. Gave good recommendations. I got a matcha and a coffee with condensed milk for sweetener. FIRE! and they had these cute little mango bread things. They were delicious. And as I was leaving I got a "bye Jessica have a good day" or something like that and I was like awwwww. That's so nice!!!!! I would go back 10/10

Discovered an amazing new spot with exceptional cold brew and matcha drinks. The service is outstanding and the place is impeccably clean. While indoor seating is limited, the generous outdoor seating area more than makes up for it perfect for enjoying your beverage in the fresh air.

When I bit into them, I could actually taste and feel the fibrous banana strings, which made the drink less enjoyable. The banana syrup could be improved by using fully ripe bananas and taking the extra time to remove the fibrous strings before making the syrup. While it does require more preparation, it would make a noticeable difference. Ripe bananas are naturally sweeter, and removing the strings would eliminate much of the bitterness while creating a smoother, creamier syrup and cold foam. I also ordered the regular Matcha Latte, and personally, I found it more enjoyable than the Banana Matcha. That said, my all-time favorite drink here is still the Butter Honey Latte. Yet I am a big coffee person, the quality of the coffees and drinks have gone down hill a lot. I would always order the Campfire latte or the Smoking Spaniard latte (when it still had cardamom in it) and would LOVE it. But now when I order drinks, most of them aren't very good or are missing flavors. The Smoking Spaniard is still yummy yet it used to be sooo much better back in the day, now it taste more like a regular spanish latte. I always see the new seasonal drinks and menu and get so excited to try them just incase I find a new favorite. Most of them have been a miss sadly :( The fruit lattes and drinks from their seasonal menu usually has actual chunks of fruit in it which makes it hard to drink and you have to chew while drinking a latte ;( not my fave. I went in yesterday to try their summer '26 seasonal drinks which is Yakult! I was sooo excited. A blueberry Yakult matcha latte! yummy! I got there, got a new earl grey lemon loaf from the bakery, got my blueberry Yakult matcha latte and sat down to try. Sadly, it didn't hit... the blueberries are still super chunky so I had to use 2 different straws because my first one got stuck with blueberries in it. The Yakult foam was really good but the blueberries weren't :( I HIGHLY recommend when making fruit syrups for coffee, boil down the fruit and blend it or strain out the big pieces. I sadly have stopped really coming to Smoking Tiger so often because I haven't been impressed and other coffee shops have been popping up that has better quality now :( Smoking Tiger has been focusing more on quantity of stores rather than quality of their food and drinks.
