TERRIBLE! Management is terrible!! Lady at the counter took my order , went to prep it, then blend.. She left the receipt on the printer to clean something. I'm sure she was going ti hand it to me when she came back with my drink.. couple mins go by and the phone rings... The "key holder " emerges from no where answers the phone with me in front of the register,( no one else in The store), snatches my receipt and crumbles it and throws it away.. I asked " was that just my receipt ?" He holds up his finger and answers the phone(apparently my receipt on the machine was more important than answering the Phone that was already on its 5th ring..) He reached in the trash and retrieved it. Only it was the wrong one after he asked what my order was.. Then what does he do after I asked if he hands all of his customers things out the trash and his reply was they don't care, HE REACHES BACK IN THE TRASH, and get u crumbles my receipt and says here. And I laugh it off and get my drink from the young lady, he asked her "why didn't you offer him his receipt", I let him kno SHE WAS NOT AT FAULT, he get loud with "HAVE A NICE DAY SIR!" repeatedly... Hands down the WORST Smoothie king. The owner treated me with such disrespect and I felt discriminated against because of my race and gender (black and female). I felt like he treated customers who didn't look like me waaaaaay better! In fact, he served a white male who came in AFTER me, before me. He literally stopped making my smoothie to make his. Once you navigate the traffic on Forest Lane to get into the little center, the fun begins. I'm a big smoothie fan, especially of places like Jamba Juice or Whole Foods, where they use actual fruit to make the smoothies or juices. But as far as I can tell, Smoothie King just uses chemicals and lots of sugar to create their concoctions. Hint: they call it turbinado, like it's something healthy, but all that means is tons of sugar. I went for one of their blueberry banana drinks, and they literally squirted some sort of blueberry liquid into the blender. I had asked for something healthy with berries, and this was the suggestion -- really? I should have known since the staff didn't look particularly healthy, in my opinion. Maybe it's because they work at a place that sells drinks larded with sugar and chemicals? After paying a reasonable price, I looked around for a napkin. Call me crazy - they don't have them! I had to go to the counter, where the obviously annoyed staff member sighed, then stalked off only to return with a single paper towel. Gimme a break - just how cheap is the owner of this place? Not sure why this place got dinged for poor service. I've been in there 3 times in the last 6 months. Twice the owner has been in here keeping an eye on things then the other time service was even better than when I was being served by the actual owner. I would call this above average service. I have come here almost every single day for the last 3 months or so, and I must say they are awesome! I have visited some other Smoothie King locations in the area, and this one by far has the friendliest employees. They also give great service and remember you if you come in often enough. They always give great suggestions of something to try if you've never been. The smoothie I order is off the menu, with a few extra something's, and the regular employees manage to remember every single time, what I get since it rarely changes. I've seen several others walk in and have the same happen to them, so if you're looking to make a healthy change even just to curb a snack craving come to this smoothie king! Gross! Check the blender before they start your drink because they do not clean them. I peeked over the border and notice the grime all over the lids of the blenders and when they poured my drink in the styrofoam(yuck, for the enviroment) cup I noticed the grime all over the bottom. None of the fruit is fresh except the bananas, peaches, pineapple, and strawberries. The peaches and pineapple are from cans and are engulfed in sugar water. The strawberries are frozen and are in sugar water, too! Everything else is just from concentrate in a squeeze bottle. You think you're helping your body with the powders but everyone knows that vitamins are just expensive urine. Unless you have a deficit in a certain nutrient, you're just pouring money down the drain, because your body can only absorb to a certain point. But don't take my word, just google it, right. Plus, all the powders are just synthetic additives. All the nutrients you need come from the food you eat. For the price you'd be better off just buying your own ingredients. Your body and mind would love that. If you can't make it to Jamba Juice, that has fresh squeezed, you're better off hitting up the store for a REAL smoothie like the brand Naked. It's not fresh if it's from a can, squeeze bottle, and powder. Plus, the girl with long hair behind the counter was incredibly rude. She was playing on her cell phone when I got in and she didn't wash her hands before preparing my "smoothie". Cell phones are huge germ carriers. They wanted me to download a app to my phone but I prefer to leave big brother out of my food selections. If you don't care about your body (no real fruit, unclean surroundings, uncaring teenagers, tap water, overpriced, gmo's, etc) then by all means, continue. P.S. My smoothie was alright. I don't write reviews on places, if I receive bad service I typically will just never return and spend my money elsewhere but this place crossed the line. I came in 15 minutes before the posted closing time, when I walked in I was greeted with "Are you getting a smoothie?" yes I am, immediately I was given a blatant eye roll and a sigh of frustration. She then walked to the corner and with her back turned and head back "Ok, what do you want?" I give my order and walk around the store looking at the various items as I wait. The other girl finishes my drinks, says "here you go" sets them on the counter and then also disappears into the back, now I'm alone in the store and I leave. Whatever, it's a smoothie and there's many other places to get them. I tell my wife who gets very upset and decides to call the manager the following day to provide the feedback assuming that someone in management would want to know about this to correct it. She didn't receive a greeting from the manager that was much better. Told her he was on the register and was busy and would call her back. A few hours later she calls again and asks if its busy, he says no and when she asked why he didn't call her back he yells at her and says he said he would call back after 3pm (he didn't). At this point he informs her that his team already told him all about me and that I was rude and on my phone the entire time (I wasn't) and they desperately tried taking my order but I was distracted walking in and out of the store (I didn't). Are you kidding me?! There are many negative reviews on this particular store, it's clear that there is an overall culture here supported by the manager that is unhelpful, uncaring and extremely dismissive. Attitude will always reflect leadership and this will always be a terrible choice when spending your money as long as mangers like the one at this store are tolerated to behave in this manner and empower their associates to treat anyone anyway they want. You could have avoided all of this with an "I'm Sorry, I will look into this" but no you had to be incredibly rude to someone who was doing you the favor of providing you direct feedback that didn't involve a Yelp review but because you don't care to even hear the side of the paying guest and take 10 minutes to investigate by looking at the security footage that will prove my story correct.... Here you go. We have reached out to corporate, I'll never return to a Smoothie King but assuming that someone within the company cares, something should be looked into at this location. read more

I went in for a smoothie yesterday(first time at this location) and the girl at the counter asked me if I knew what I wanted. I said not really, do you have any suggestions? I want something with energizer to give me a boost and nothing tart. I repeated again, I DONT LIKE ANYTHING TART. She suggested a couple of their smoothies and I picked one of them. When I got it, I tasted it and what do you think happened? IT WAS FREAKIN TART!!!! I told her I can't drink this, I told you I didn't like anything tart. Please make me something else. I had an AWFUL experience at the Smoothie King located on Forest Lane. I have never had a problem with Smoothie King before, as a matter of fact I love it and have always preferred it over any other smoothie shop. However, this encounter made me second guess my preferences. I was treated with such disrespect by the employees and felt very uncomfortable. I had called to make sure that they had the ingredients for the smoothie of my choosing due to the fact that I had a presentation in class that involved a visual aid. I did not have time to run to different locations so I called ahead of time. As I walked in, I was questioned and mistreated as I was told that they "obviously always have their ingredients for their own products." I then made it clear that I had a double name for my order and she looked at me, shook her head, and decided to just pick one name. When it was time to collect my change, she tediously took my time and practically threw my coins at me. It's little things that create a whole image of bad service. I just had the most awful experience at this particular location. This was my first time at a Smoothie King and therefore I was unfamiliar with the menu. The members were not helpful and it seemed like they did not want to be at work. The male manager present was unfriendly and unfair - to customers as well as his employees. Before it was my turn to order, a pregnant woman before me asked the manager who was at the register about some points that she is able to collect every time she buys a smoothie - but the manager bluntly told her she should've asked him before he completed the transaction and made it clear to her that he is done talking with her. When it came my turn to order for 2 children and myself, I pointed to the kids and then pointed to the kids' cup, asking for three small smoothies for me and the kids. At this point the woman who took my order started making the smoothies, but she was interrupted by her manager who said "What are you doing?!" and grabbed the smoothie mixer from her hand and started pouring the smoothie into the adult size "Small" cups. I tried to get one of their attention to make sure I was getting the kid-size cups, but because I was not getting anyone's attention I had to wait until check-out to see if I could get the smoothies in the kid-sizes. The manager looked at me, told me "Too bad" and pointed at the wall with the sizes of the cups, and rudely proceeded to tell me that since I had already ordered and they had made three 16oz. smoothies, there is nothing he could do. I told him that that was not what I ordered and that there was no way I was paying for something I did not order. After he made me look like I complete loser, I told him I would only pay for 2 adult size smalls and then split the smoothies myself for the kids into smaller cups. He refused to give me small kid size cups for the children and was unwilling to adjust the price. I was treated with disrespect and I was told it is my fault that I ordered the wrong/extra drink and my fault that it was now going to waste. He even asked me what he's supposed to do with a drink that was ordered but not wanted...?! It seems crazy to me that he would've known exactly what I ordered when he did not even take my order. Not only did he treat me in an unkind manner, he embarrassed himself and myself in front of a long line of customers. I understand that it can get busy at work with a line full of hungry people - but I am baffled at the fact that this manager has the guts to treat his employees and customers (who pay for his paycheck) with disgust. It is crazy his store is still in business. After this experience, I had my significant other go into the store to help me get a refund, but the same manager (Owner) did not apologize for his behavior and did not seem to think a customer's experience is important, he proceeded to tell us to leave his store. What a joke of a business. I will never return to another Smoothie King, especially to this location. I will tell everyone I know about my experience. read more
