I wanted something with pineapple and the clerk suggested the sunrise sunset. It tasted super good and I really enjoyed it. For some reason it took over seven minutes to get my order. Food is good, but I find it strange that you cannot order online and pay with cash or call in an order and pay with cash so I drove 20 minutes to a location and then ordered and waited to have the order made so I can bring it home. I would give the actual employees 5 stars because of quality of food and service but the company needs to make it easier for pickup orders paying with cash. read more

I realize it depend on where you go with Tropical Smoothie. I'm a pescatarian and I asked for the veggie wrap. I was in Grand Prairie on Camp Wisdom. It had chicken in it. I let it slide since it was just a little. But next time it happened it was full of meat. Been coming here for a while now; I just never wrote a review. 5 stars for service and smoothie- I've never tried their food. Now- I sometimes crave sweets post-workout at LA fitness next door, so I'd come here to get a large island green smoothie (my fav). It has kale pineapple banana and mango in it. First with the service- they have always been fast and friendly, and I see the workers chatting up other customers very cordially from time to time. They never get my order wrong. As for the smoothie, I would rate it higher quality and less artificial tasting than smoothie king. Compared to Jamba Juice i'd say they lean heavier with smoothie options than juices, but over all same quality if not better. Now the best part is- they've always always gone beyond my expectation and have given me extras on my smoothie. Whether it is a small plastic cup with 5 sips worth or a whole separate small styrofoam with half a drink's worth, I always get extras. It is naturally sweetened with ginger so if you're not really into ginger, you may not really be into this drink even though its subtle...in which case there is the regular island green smoothie. I hate overly sweet things so the detox island green is the perfect sweetness for me. I try to make spinach and kale smoothies at home but I can't ever get the perfect consistency or vibrant green color that Tropical Smoothie Cafe gets. read more

This place has amazing smoothies! I can't get enough of the watermelon mojito. All of the sandwiches, paninis and bowls are super refreshing and healthy. Love that you can get the food with any smoothie for a perfect combo meal and the system does it automatically even if they tell you that the smoothie is only $3.50 for the meal deal. Obviously a great location next to the LA Fitness for all of your refueling needs. Much better selection and menu than a Jamba. The peanut butter crunch is the PERFECT dessert! Bananas, honey, and peanut butter are a perfect combo here. Although I could come here endlessly for the smoothies and food, the service is where it's hit or miss. Not sure what happened to this place. New ownership maybe? I used to be greeted with a smile when I came in. Over time, as a regular, by name. The order was always on point. Today I showed up 20 minutes after placing an online order. There was one customer finishing up her lunch. The three workers were chatting and laughing. My order was up on the screen but no one had started it. They seemed bothered by a customer. AND, worst of all, the smoothie was disguising. I love this place! I've been going almost every week. The guys in the morning are always so friendly. Always greet you good morning. I go during happy hour in the morning. Not too busy... but definitely get there early if you have to go to work bc it can be a wait if you're in a rush. Download the app & earn yourself some points. You can even order through app & go in to pick it up & pay. Almost no wait time. I saw 2 people go in& out bc they ordered ahead. My go to favorites are: sunshine smoothie & chipotle chicken flatbread. They currently have watermelon mojito & green apple matcha. Currently drinking the watermelon mojito & its so refreshing! Blend watermelon, mint, lime...so good. The green apple matcha is also great. It does have spinach I think... but you don't even taste it. Came here on a Saturday morning to get their happy hour deal (1/2 off all smoothies before 9am). Although it was a struggle to get out of bed, we arrived at 8:55am and snagged delicious smoothies. The store was busy and we stood at the front/ waited at least 10 minutes before someone could take our orders. I counted only two workers who were making smoothies and flatbreads and manning the cash registers as well. I got the Health Nut (a supercharged smoothie) which is made with blueberries, mango, banana, almonds, and your choice of protein (soy or whey). It was delicious! I could taste the individual ingredients, and the soy provided texture to the drink. The smoothies come in one size: 24 oz and are made with turbinado sugar. The best part is that their smoothies stay icy and cold rather than melting quickly. You definitely get bang for your buck with the happy hour deal and can enjoy a satisfying start to your morning. I really really love this place! The people working and making the smoothies are very sweet and respectful and cool under pressure. I've only every gotten smoothies here during happy hour, but I love the amount you can get for the price. Their cups are huge, and my favorite part is how insulating they are- they never sweat and my fingers never get cold! They offer a variety of add-ins, some typical "health smoothie" type things, but honestly I rarely get any of those. The smoothies themselves are really high quality, as are the ingredients! They're not like 89% ice like some other places- even if I came after happy hour and paid full price, I would feel justified because you get so much goodness for your money. I've tried about 4 different smoothies, and they're all amazing. This place is definitely one of my favorites for breakfast, and I'll get around to trying their solid food options soon! read more

They open pretty early and even have a half-off smoothies Happy Hour from 6am-9am and 6pm-8pm EVERY DAY (except Sundays) - can't beat that! There's easy parking in the area and the shop itself is super colorful and smells amazing. The staff is also extremely friendly and have always had my order ready when I've called ahead. They even give me the "extras" in a little cup if they make more! I've tried the Bahama Mama, Pomegranate Plunge, Island Green, Acai Berry Boost and Triple Berry Oat - you can't go wrong with any of these! Though they're all delicious and super refreshing, my current favorite is somewhere between the Bahama Mama and the Acai Berry Boost. The first is sweet and tastes like a healthy piña colada with white chocolate in it (WUT) and the latter is made for açai lovers who enjoy the sweet/tart combo! I like to put whey in mine but they have other options such as soy protein and energy add-ins that I've also tried and loved! They have wifi, clean restrooms, and are next to a gym for your post-workout convenience! Having to come back and change my review of this place is actually pretty hard, i used to absolutely love this place but lately i dont know if its due to management changes or ownership changes or what, but i have found a bread clip /the plastic piece that you tie off a bag with) in one of my meals, and now today there was foil in my smoothie...... Assuming it was from an added supplement or something, nevertheless there was FOIL in my smoothie. Im at the point where im going to go elsewhere for my lunch hour then here. I work down the street from Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I'll admit, I'd seen it a couple times, but its proximity to the gym next door and it being called "smoothie cafe" led me to believe it was basically a smoothie/juice shop for the fitness buffs next door. And I really just wanted tacos at the other end of the strip mall. And then I learned that there's food! And it's super vegetarian friendly! You can sub any chicken items with Beyond Chicken. Also, several vegan options. What a treat! They give you a coupon for signing up to their mailing list as well. We stopped by with a group from work and all tried different sandwiches and a couple smoothies. Everyone was happy with their purchase. The food was prepped fairly quickly and the smoothies were fresh. You can make a combo from a sandwich by adding a huge smoothie for just a few dollars.
