I always been a customer of Smoothie King since 2007, I always loved the smoothies and the hospitality the employees , especially the Sugarland location on 99.Since then I always order my smoothie as my go to treat every now and then.Well on May 16 , 2025 I placed an order two smoothies through DoorDash at 8:40ish. Mind you the location hasn't been closed yet the hours of operation is until 10pm. Thanks to my Dasher keeping posted and updated , he mentioned that they closed the lobby early and told him they closed for day. He did send me some pictures of employees just standing around or some just doing their side work. An hour later my dasher send me a message that he hasn't received anything of an update of my order , an hour . I called the location , 3 times until someone pick up the phone, I ask for hours of operation and the person who answered (male) told at 9 pm. I asked an update of my order and why is taking longer to be made, I mentioned that my Dasher was waiting for a while and he reply back " What do you want me to do about it?" Multiples times and not letting me speak. His excuse was that he was short staff and he got so many orders , I told him that was no excuse to treat customers like that , like we are responsible of lack of staff in the store. I worked in the industry for 25 years and I understand the feeling of non stop running around and trying to deliver the drinks on high volume but always acknowledged my customers giving a quick greeting and telling I will be right with them. Most customers are kind and understanding but not greeting them or acknowledging them, of course will take them as disrespect. Please re trained the staff to be more courteous and not acting rude and highly, I had to cancel my order due to a fear that might spit on my drink. First time the bowl was so runny I had to eat it within seconds smh, attempted again and it was made to perfection, however the third time was horrendous!! They barely put açaí in the bowl and the toppings were nonexistent even though I asked for extra when ordering! I took pictures of how the bowl was filled versus this time it was halfway. Although it was a long line, it should not have taken that long to make drinks waited over 30 minutes and they messed up my 2 drinks even after repeating it multiple times and having the worker even repeating it back to us to ensure the correct drinks. When I got my order they switched up the sugar levels for the wrong drinks and i knew if I were to come inside to have them correct it and remake the drinks it would have taken another 30 minutes. read more

The small is 20 ounces and comes in at 220 calories before you add your choice of fruit and it has 44 grams of protein. It is low carb and low sugar and it tastes awesome. Smoothie King is epidemically one of the worst run franchises in America. I've been to over three dozen SK's over the last twenty years because I love smoothies. And sadly, SK is often the only option available. One day I plan to open a smoothie shop that's much more customer-centric with higher-paid and better-trainee employees. Typically you have high school kids who choose this job because they think it's easy and low stress. Which for the most part is true. But these kids are typically slow and uninspired due to equally uninspired ownership. These stores try to pinch overhead as much as possible, so they are not inviting to enter. The service is always poor. And they always do things like close early, open late, mixup their own menu, and mess up orders. This location is one of the worst. Employees are always messing up our orders. It has a drive through which would make it awesome if it wasn't, well, a Smoothie King. Drive thru was a little active but the storefront was empty when I walked in. I was greeted by Derrion, who was very polite & knowledgeable, and he let me know he was available when I was ready & if I needed any help. I lulled over the menu a bit & decided on the Gladiator 32oz drink which comes with the Gladiator protein mixed in & your choice of 2 fruits, those of which I chose strawberry & banana. I also added an extra protein shot for 99 cents, just to feel like I was doing something haha. My experience was great, they (another employee came out for a short gym convo, she was also nice) got me in and out & my drink hit just the right spot after my workout. This location isn't that great. They are too inconsistent with the drinks. I always rotate between 4 flavors, so I know very well how each if them should taste. They don't always get it right though, and that's just too disappointing. Of course, when they do get it right, it's great. I would say they get it wrong 25% of the time, which is far too often. There are a lot of healthy options or post/pre workout meals and supplements. The huge selection may be intimidating but once you get your niche, you'll know what you'll get almost every time. Customer service is good. They are friendly and make sure they get your smoothies out quickly. When the product is the main selling point, customer service alone won't convince a patron to keep coming back. On Friday October 21, 2021 we made a pick order while we were still at the gym in the parking lot where this Smoothie King is located. We decided to walk over to the Smoothie King to pick up our smoothies. As we were stepping up to the door an employee was coming out and the other employee quickly locked the door behind the employee and walked away from the door like we weren't there. The operating hours on door displays the closing hour for that day as 10 pm. We arrived at the location at approximately 6:50 PM. We had to walk back to our car which was parked near the gym and drive back over to the Smoothie King and wait in the drive-thru to pick up our order. We were in the line for at least another 15 minutes before we made it to the speaker where we informed the employee we have a mobile pick up order. When we arrived at the window to pick up we inquired about the closed lobby. She stated they normally close later but when it's busy they close the lobby early. In my opinion that is absolutely ludicrous and causes a decrease in business. I watched at least 5 people drive off when they realized the lobby was closed. I don't blame them. There were at least 4 cars behind us and 3 in front of us. For this reason I won't be returning to this location. What kind of business/ management eliminates consumer access options (No lobby access. ONLY drive thru during business hours) to purchase their product as their resolution to high consumer traffic? Especially on the one day of the week they have $5 smoothies. Ludicrous.
