Absolutely delicious! The first time that I came here I had the applewood bacon burger, a friend had the Ruben. Both of our meals were great, the owner of the restaurant checked with us a couple of times to make sure we were enioying our meal and we assured him that everything was great. He told us how everything is prepared fresh in the kitchen. The freshness is noticable. Tonight I took my family back to Smyrna Cafe for dinner. The pork chops were the best that I have had at any restaurant. My wife had the catfish, she really liked it and was very impressed with the coleslaw too. Everyone In our group really liked the food, and the service was great too. They are nice people and really care about the quality of the food that they serve. The owner spoke to us as we ordered about his prior restaurant experience. He told us that he was a chef at the Belle Meade Country Club. It is obvious that he knows how to prepare great food and make a simple meal outstanding. This is not your average meat and three, it is much better. Give it a try, I am sure that you will agree. French dips, roast beef so savory with a great soft on the inside and slight crunch on the outside hoagie bread, and it pairs with the au jus so beautifully. While you're eating this deliciousness, you're made to ponder when you can get back again real soon. This is a cafe you want to plan your schedule around as it will be the highlight of your day. How pompous it is to ridicule a family trying to get their dream going, with all the costs associated with starting a new business, and pick apart the understaffing and menu thats not perfect english? How about going to a vegan place and ordering a steak? Or mexican and ordering chicken marsala? This place is the best! My family and I stopped in for lunch on our way to Atlanta and we were greeted at the door by the owner. It was around 1:30, just after the lunch crowd, so the place was pretty quiet. He directed us to a large corner booth and recommended some items on the menu. My husband and I ordered the Club Sandwich with sweet potato fries and chicken tenders for our three year old sons, while another member of our party ordered the Caesar Salad. The food came quickly. The sandwich, topped with crispy bacon and roasted turkey and ham had just the right amount of melted cheese and mayo. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken tenders were so fragrant that I had to try a piece - even though my son didn't want to let one piece go. Again, delicious!!! Everything tasted freshly prepared- NOT processed and reheated. When we're on our way back home, we definitely plan on stopping in again for some great food and great customer service! read more

We stopped in Smyrna Cafe around 4:00 and were greeted by a very friendly owner with a Merry Christmas greeting. Both my husband and myself had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans! It was delicious and homemade no doubt! I am a southern cook myself so I know the difference! I wish they had a place like this in Bellevue where we are from! I wish them much success and I hope people will come and try them out! And a word to the rude people that commented on Yelp, especially Ron T. I say shame on you for being sarcastic and ugly! I am sure Mr Hana would have welcomed a kind word about his early menu in July! He is a very respectful Egyptian fellow who is simply trying to succeed at a business and make his American dream a reality and serve a community of people with great food & great service! This place is simply wonderful! The owner makes you feel as if he was welcoming you into his home! You can tell that it is very important to him that you enjoy the food! He can accommodate just about any request and do it with joy. The food is made to order, so it might take a bit longer than you are used to in this fast food world, but boy is it worth it! My personal favorites are the eggs Benedict, the Reuben and the Cajun chicken pasta! The meatloaf is also delish! They serve beer, but it is definitely a family friendly place. Second visit to the Smryna Cafe tonight and this place is wonderful! The owners personally greet you and truly want and expect each person's freshly cooked and prepared dinner to be special! Our party had entrees that included grilled pork chops, chicken parmesan, and fried catfish. Side dishes included gourmet mashed potatoes, green beans, asparagus, and cole slaw. You can order soups, salads, and sandwiches, too! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Will be coming back for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Recentlyy husband and I were in Smyrna visiting our son who recently started a new position in Smyrna. Looking for a place to have lunch we found Smyrna Cafe and instantly fell in love. The decor is so cozy; welcoming you in. The owners are very friendly making you feel like you have found "the place". We had the chicken fried steak, green beans and Mac and cheese and our son had the Gyros. From the first bite your senses are overwhelmed with a complexity of flavors very few chefs are able to accomplish. Do we recommend Smyrna Cafe? YES! Will we be back? Absolutely. read more

My wife and I drove by for a long time until a friend told us how good the Cafe was, so we checked it out. We've been back several times now and have enjoyed everything we've eaten. We arrived this past Sunday after closing time and they still served us! The service is so good you feel like family and the food is all cooked on premises so it tastes fantastic. Driving through on our way to Georgia and we needed a good breakfast place. Stopped at Smyrna Cafe and was greeted by Manela. Very kind, pleasant hostess. Ash brought us out our breakfast and he was friendly and went out of his way to make our experience the best. Food was fantastic!! Homemade pancakes with hot syrup!! My Favorite hometown Breakfast spot! They make a classic "eggs Benedict" that is on point every time! My kids aren't much for potatoes unless French fries or chips, but that all changed when my kids tried my side of breakfast taters! Family run, they are always pleasant and extremely caring. The food is FRESH and really cooked not microwaved or boiled in a bag. Also their Cajun Alfredo Pasta is out of this world as well. read more

We came in for breakfast after seeing the reviews here on Yelp. My husband ordered the corn beef and hash. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. Both of us really enjoyed our choices. The ice tea is freshly brewed and delicious. It actually tastes like tea. What made the experience even better was talking with the owner, Hanna. He was wonderful! I saw the Smyrna Cafe while driving by and decided to try it. I had a delicious reuben sandwich. The meat was tender and lean and the flavors were great. The fries were good but I would have preferred an option of a side salad or bowl of fruit. The owners were very nice and the service was excellent. Just looks like a tiny resturant in a plaza when you walk by, but once you walk in there is an amazing smell and you get really hungry.
