It's located where the Halal Guys used to be. Apparently Sal's has been popular at its Plano location so they were able to expand here. This was my first visit. I came for a late lunch on a Friday during June. I was the only customer there for the 30 minutes I was there. The restaurant had plenty of seating for groups as well as singles. It feels very much like a fast food place. Pop music was blaring in the background. The menu is an electronic board near the cash register where you order and pay. They specialize in Nashville style chicken and even have waffles on the menu. Despite this, I went for the jalapeño smash burger. It's one of the popular items on the menu. The combo comes with fries and a 16oz drink in a styrofoam cup that you fill yourself from the drink station. It looked like mostly Coca Cola products which made me happy. I asked if I could substitute the fries for okra and my wish was granted. The burger was definitely smashed. The patty edges were thin, charred, and sticking out of the bun. That part wasn't appealing in taste or appearance. The sandwich was heavily layered with a tangy sauce. It got all over my hands and face, so I was glad I decided to take this meal to eat at home. The downside was that the okra got a little soggy in the styrofoam clamshell, but by far it was my favorite part of the meal. This might be a good stop if you are heading home late night after work or after a hangover and want to stuff your face with some greasy food. It will fill you up, but it definitely won't help your cholesterol numbers.
