My husband and I came to IKEA just to get out of the house, stretch our legs, and walk around. Since I was off from work and he was starting his weekend, we decided it was finally time to give their cafeteria a try! We arrived around 10:30 AM, not realizing that the lunch menu doesn't start until 11:00 AM--but hey, that just gives us something to look forward to on our next visit! We ended up getting breakfast, and you really can't beat the price. The Small Breakfast is only $3 and comes with eggs, potatoes, and two slices of bacon. While the food looked a little bland on the plate and the bacon was a bit too greasy for our personal taste, it was still tasty, cheap, and very filling! They didn't have hot sauce available, but we were grateful for the salt and pepper packets to give it a little extra kick. As for the rest of the store, it's such a nice, fun maze to wander through! There are tons of room setups for inspiration, and everything--from the furniture to the cute little kitchen gadgets--is surprisingly affordable. Overall, a great, budget-friendly morning outing. We come to IKEA frequently to get their morning breakfast and being a IKEA member we get free coffee free drinks we get a 599 meal and a 299 scone that the wife and I split and it's tasty and basic quality but we really enjoy it. Service is basically routine as you go to a counter and get your food and then you pay at the counter and then you go to your table and everything else you do yourself! An ambience is a typical IKEA ambience throughout the restaurant area, but very well laid out very nicely done plenty of seating enjoyable and it's basically cafeteria style but if you like that, this is a place to go a sidenote is the Swedish restaurant at IKEA opens up at 9:30 where the store opens up at 10 so you can get in early to visit the café read more

What can I say about a childhood nostalgia? There's nothing like cheap Swedish meatballs covered in gravy accompanied with mashed potatoes and peas and a dollop of jelly. I'm not a fan of their fountain drinks but hey water is just fine. I enjoy eating here after shopping around inside. The service is always great with me and the price is great also. read more

Came here for first time. We loved how everything was decorated and all the rooms so unique. Stuff is so cheap here and I saw panda stuffed animals i had to get one. First time eating lunch at an IKEA and man! It was delicious and cheap. Definitely coming back. The meatballs were just like I had in Stockholm, along with the sides and the elderberry? Or whichever jam they give. I always get it with the Mac n cheese and it's really good stuff. Decided to swing by ikea for lunch and do a stroll around the store to get some walking in on a hot day. Always go for the Swedish meatballs here and they are good. The gravy adds a little extra to it but the meatballs themselves have good flavor, especially for a place that is like cafeteria food. The peas are basic but ok once you put some salt and pepper on them. The mashed potato's are creamy and not lumpy but get better with the salt and pepper as well. read more

I love IKEA! This location is huge and is 2 floors of shopping. They have a free kids daycare near the entrance then you take the escalator up to go to the showroom floor so see all the furniture, housewares, and room setups. They have bags and carts to use or bring your own. You can also buy one for 99 cents. At the end of the showroom they have a kids section with toys and popular items the a large Cafe. It is set up cafeteria style and is very affordable and delicious. They have a variety of Swedish items and American items and they always have specials and seasonal selections. Hands down my favorite are the Sewdish Meatball platter with ligonberry jam and potatoes and the Smoked Salmon plate. You then can go downstairs to the large shopping floor where you can buy all the individual things you saw on the showroom along with decor, plants, and even mattresses, lighting, and organization systems. Then there is the warehouse where you can pick up all the big items in boxes. Finally before the checkout area there is a discount as is section and a lot of seasonal items to browse along with a refrigerated food section and another counter service food area (with really good frozen yogurt and cinnamon rolls). Checkout is mostly self checkout and they provide no bags so bring your own. They have a packing and shipping area after you pay. I recommend signing up for their free family membership for rewards and to get catalogs in the mail. Overall, awesome place but be prepared to walk and explore. It is not a quick stop! read more

Safe to say the food is still pretty consistent from what it was a while back, and as usual, your typical canteen vibe, surprisingly the cod was actually pretty good! Fries were soggy, meatballs barely warm and gravy cold. Cake was stale and crusty from sitting out too long. Server ladies were rude. No straws and no containers for sauces. My husband loves coming here for the Swedish meatballs. He considers a trip to Ikea with me as a date night. I'm less impressed, but it makes him so happy. Plus, it's a step up from him hijacking me and taking me to Home Depot. For some reason, we always end up getting here late and right before closing. Despite this, they always seem to have Swedish meatballs available. They also have vegetarian meatballs too which is a nice alternative. My preference is the baked salmon meal. All of the plates come with a protein and a vegetable, usually broccoli and/or green beans. It's actually quite healthy and affordable at about $8. The soda machine has some unmarked brands. The pear soda tasted more like Perrier, but the regular cola was refreshing. You can also opt for a small box container of milk or juice with your meal. I'm certain a lot of people are thankful that Ikea has a cafeteria. It is easy to wile away the hours in the store's labyrinth of home furnishings and decor. At least near the end of the rat maze, you can rest your weary feet and replenish your strength at the 2nd floor cafeteria where you can enjoy a meal and a view of Frisco's concrete jungle. read more

If you don't know they joys of eating at Ikea you have to get in there to eat! My last visit was during a weekday lunch. The staffing was a bit low so took a while to get through the line and check out as compared to weekends when they have a lot of staff works so just plan it can take a while to get eating on the weekend. Regardless an Ikea Meatball plate is an amazing value for the money and is healthy. I believe it is cheaper than a BigMac Meal at McDonalds and way healthier!! I upgraded my meal with a side of cornbread and a cheesecake slice. Everything tastes good. My only complaint is the soda is super foamy when filling your glass at the fountain and takes forever to get a full glass. IKEA members don't forget your complimentary coffee or tea. They have water in the soda fountain, so if you bring a bottle, you can fill 'er up. We haven't tried at Ikea grill but at ikea cafeteria at first floor. They have amazing menu and not at all expensive. We have veggie hot dog and got dog which is of $1 only and my wife is fan of their cinnamon bin which is also only for $1. It taste really good and you can have them as quick bites. After spending a few hours in the clutches of the showroom, my companion Peg and I escaped and made our way to the cafeteria. After all that shopping, we needed sustenance! The first thing that struck us was the brightness of the place. Huge windows form one wall and the result is quite nice. No squinting to see your food here! And it was clean--really clean! Employees are constantly circulating through the various areas sweeping, mopping, wiping--and they were all smiling! Just what our tired eyes needed to see! Also, there is a play area for children--very thoughtful. We made our way through the line, first grabbing some apple pie and then a lunch plate of Swedish meatballs. There were two checkers, so our trip through the line was swift. We picked up utensils and drinks and were ready to chow down. We found a table by the windows. Very nice except that the seating. Remember those horribly uncomfortable desk chairs when you were in the second grade? Well, that's what you've got here--and I swear they're the same size! And with arm rests to squeeze you even further. Big guys like me, take note! But fear not, they're comfortable enough to get you through lunch. The lunch plate consisted of twelve meatballs with lingonberry jam on the side, mashed potatoes (opt for the gravy) and frozen mixed vegetables. The meatballs were quite good, though nothing to write home about. Ask for extra gravy as they may be a tad dry. The mashed potatoes and veggies had very little flavor. In a furtive attempt to improve this, I mixed potatoes and veggies together with a liberal helping of gravy. A little improvement, but not much. Unfortunately, the best thing on the plate was the lingonberry jam. A combination of tart and sweet, it was the perfect foil for the meatballs and gravy. Pie time! Well, cake time, actually. This dessert is named Swedish Apple Cake for some reason. It has a sugar-springled latticed crust (very flakey and tender) topping the apple filling with another layer of crust below. Take a look at the photo and decide for yourself. Perhaps they named it "cake" owing to the compactness of the apples. But hey, I'm Polish, so what do I know about Swedish food? But here again, flavor was lacking. It was far from horrible, just far from inspiring. The apple flavor was muted, which was a surprise. Oh well, it filled that last empty place in the tummy! Even though I can rate the cafeteria only three stars, don't let this dissuade you from giving it a try. I have no doubt that we will return should we visit IKEA in the future. Also, there is a snack bar by the check out stations. They offer such items as hot dog, pizza pockets and soft service ice cream at very reasonable prices. read more

The IKEA restaurant excels at providing a very consistent, good quality product. The food is well prepared and presented exactly the same every time. No need to worry if the person serving you is going to get it right, if the food will be hot, if the soda will be flat. It's simply done correctly every time. My only complaint on this trip was that, despite the restaurant not being overly busy, almost all available tables truly needed to be wiped down and cleaned. Other than that, they got it right. Decent place and decor. Easy to find. There's a playground downstairs. What is there to not like? For $6, Swedish meatball came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Definitely can't get this dish at a fast food place. For $6, 4 big pieces of chicken tenders with fries. Cornbread at $0.69 each. If you come at peak dinner time, the corn bread is good. Other times, when we come later at night, we got the leftover cornbread and it was all dried out. I used to eat salmon, and this place has it. But I quit eating salmon because I read about salmon farming and how it's the worst kind of seafood. This place also used to sell BBQ ribs with fries at $7, my daughter liked it. Sadly, they pulled out this item from the menu. We still come here to eat once in a while. read more

First time eating here, and no complaints! Plenty of options and everything was tasty. The prices can't be beat! Had the vegetable ball plate. It was served with quinoa and various vegetables. They were out of the the sauce they usually have, but made a nice vegan lentil mushroom ragu. It was plenty of food for only $4! We also had a side of fries. 2 plates and fries were only $10 and some change. The food was simple but tasty, and better than what you'd expect at a cafe type restaurant. They use good quality ingredients and believe in the food they make. The vegetable balls were some of the best I've had- whole tiny pieces of veggies inside, great tasting. We bought 3 bags to go, and they are packed full! Definitely worth the price. So much seating, with tables for 2 and tables for large families. They even have these handy carts you can use if you're getting multiple trays for your family. How helpful if you have lots of kids in tow. There are fun drinks to choose from, not your typical U.S. sodas. The pear was my favorite, and got one to go! The first thing you need to know is that they hide the cafeteria REALLY WELL!!!! We walked through what felt like 3/4 of the store before finding this little treasure. It is the cleanest restaurant I have seen...ever...and the fact that it is in a department store brought back memories of Santa parties at Buffum's and the cafeterias at places like Robinson's (and I think even Penny's). I will keep this one short. The menu is small, but they taunt and tease you with pictures & signs of their specials. We got the meatballs, of course, and split the plate. Great gravy, though the meatballs are not "elevated," they have a subtle flavor. There is no doubt they are from frozen. That's the only detractor. For about $10, we got the meatball entree, two soft drinks, and a little pink marzipan-something for dessert. WOW! You can sit by the windows & have a wonderful view of...the parking lot! It actually reminds me a bit of the Denver Airport, spatially. It is also like an oasis in the midst of the hustle & bustle of the aggressive shoppers and cart jockeys in the rest of the store. This is a cafeteria in a furniture store. The food tasted as good as you'd expect IN A FURNITURE STORE. I am reviewing the IKEA Cafeteria and not the crazy winding shopping experience that you finally emerge from on the other side of this incredible store. The Cafeteria is not nearly as much fun. IKEA's plan seems to want to provide in- house very affordable beverages, snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner options for IKEA shoppers weary from the strenuous IKEA experience and maybe even as an affordable option for the brief stop and go shopper. The ongoing problem, as I see it, is a regular lack of food ready for the throngs of people who want to take them up on their offer. I have yet to stop by the restaurant on the weekend and find the cold case and salad case fully stocked (and when they first open doesn't count). Always polite, the hot food buffet servers often have to stop the line to go prepare food missing from the cold case, which is likely almost everything. Our last visit found only 2 items in the first cold case at 1:30 PM and no salads in the case at the end of the line of any kind. The menu is a lot of salmon in one form or another. Thawed from frozen cured or marinated. Wraps. Fillet dinners. Salmon burgers. All of the salmon is very good. So are the Swedish Meatballs with gravy and mashed potatoes. I can't speak for their other daily specials. My husband says the fries are good. They do have more chicken options. I always get the Salmon and Swedish Meatballs! I did find the most recent steamed vegetables that came with the meatballs to be just okay and the julienned veggies with a vinaigrette were fairly awful that had been paired with the cured salmon. They have several different kids meals, too, and waffles all day long. There are unlimited refills on the drinks, as well. This was a Saturday and of course, a very busy day. I could see disappointed customers. Be prepared to wait in the afternoon. Three stars for uneven service and inconsistent food quality. read more

It comes with veggies most people won't eat but the Swedish lederhosen boys will let you switch out fries or corn so don't fret if you're anti-vegan. The Swedish meatballs are always a hit with the kids and you can add on an extra 8 for a BUCK so you won't break the bank with these. My son ate about 40 and he's as picky as Mikey. The cornbread is just decent and the desserts are hit or miss, but where else can you mix Lingonberry juice with Sierra Mist to create the world's best original Lingonberry Mist soda? It's fairly awesome. If you happen to eat downstairs at the Hot Dog/Pizza/Cinnamon Bun/Ice Cream cafe, just know that Ikea has switched from pork hot dogs to turkey hot dogs that taste kinda gross. They claim to be healthier but they raised the price from 75 cents to $1 per nasty dog, so that's a double blow to both my pallet and my wallet. Anyways, it's IKEA. You come for the cheap furniture. I have to say out of the 3 or 4 times we have been here we haven't stopped by to have a drink or bite to eat here. I think probably because it's on the upper level and by the time I get to the second level is probably when I would start to get thirsty and hungry after all the looking and will power not to buy everything I see. I was thirsty this go around and we decided to get a couple things to eat and share. We got the Chicken fingers and fries for $5.99 for 4 fingers, and a small salad, a piece of cheesecake and two soft drinks for $15.99 or so. I wish they would've had cups that we could've carried around the store, but they were glass and small so we ended up getting a couple refills a piece. I liked how they had more than just the Swedish meatballs they are known for and the chicken fingers were pretty good. A major down side besides the drink they had no little or small containers or plates to put your salad dressing on or the dipping sauces for the chicken, so I had to go back through the line just to grab a plate. read more
