The cafe menu is limited mostly to sandwiches, quiches, salads, and breakfast pastries. I got the Jambon Bio: ham, cheddar, mesclun greens and dijon on a baguette. The amount of ham was really pitiful, I think 2 slices. The greens were boring, only lettuce. We did like the dijon mustard. The baguette was overwhelming for the amount of filling and not the tastiest. Rather disappointing and I thought pretty expensive at $17 Canadian. But it came with soup and salad (no way to order just the sandwich). We liked the soup though, a pureed squash with apple, assertively peppered. Salad? Lol no it was 3 cucumber slices each with a 1/2 cherry tomato on top! In retrospect I should have got one of the hot sandwiches, such as the Croque Monsieur, which looked good on another diner's plate. I liked the selection of soft drinks, and found an interesting fruity soda from a local company. While waiting for our food (order at the counter and they deliver it to the table) and after finishing we perused the grocery. An amazing assortment of gourmet items. I bought two hot sauces that I can't wait to try (didn't get the one made from ants though!) and some tinned smoked fish. Many of the items seemed insanely expensive though. The beer selection was truly impressive; wish I liked beer. Then on to the greenhouse. An amazing variety of plants of all kinds: cactus, ferns, carnivorous, much more. We just looked because we couldn't take them back to the USA, but some were hard to resist.

Order at the counter, take a table number and food will be delivered. Several spots to eat but we chose the greenhouse and it gave you the picnic feel! After lunch, we wandered the shop, and found so many treats to take home. We found this on accident and we hope you stop in if you are traveling through !!! It will be a joy to visit - and the barista is amazing! The food was fresh, large portions, and delicious.

This time we were looking for a place to stop and eat and spend time so on the way from MTL to QC we stopped in Trois-Rivieres both times. We ate at this place on the way back. We were hungry and made a late lunch our main meal of the day. My son started with a Caesar salad that was good except for some reason there were a ton of croutons. This had to be a funny mistake because the salad had to have been at least half croutons. Luckily they were good croutons so he offloaded some to my wife who had ordered a soup (see below) and to me since I lacked a starter. My son then ordered the pasta carbonara which looked good in photos and on the tables of other guests. My wife and I tried it as well and agreed with our son (who loves pasta) that for carbonara, it was too heavy on the thickness/creaminess and with too strong of a bacon flavor. It was good, however, in an indulgent, almost macaroni and cheese sort of way. I had a filet mignon sandwich served in the style of a burger with fries accompany it. I thought it odd that our server, who was nice as well as attentive (bilingual English-French), did not ask me how I wanted it cooked. I thought about this well after my order was placed. When the sandwich arrived the filet mignon was perfectly cooked medium, light pink inside with what seemed like the searing of a flat grill on both sides. It was ridiculously tender, around 1/2 inch thin, and it was served hot. The aioli, lettuce and bun were all perfect. The fries were ridiculously good. Canadians don't mess around with their French fries. These weren't frozen; they were good white potatoes that had almost a sweet flavor. As a starter my wife had the soup of the day, which was a cream of mushroom soup that tasted exactly like mushrooms (in a good way). She loves that sort of thing and after tasting it I figured that if I were as hungry as she claimed to be, I would have ordered it ahead of my sandwich since beef and mushrooms are such a great complement. For an entree my wife had a grilled chicken plate with some kind of sauce atop potato wedges and vegetables. She said it was good, not dry, and perfect for what she wanted, which was something lighter than a beef dish or a carb-heavy dish. She did eat a lot of my fries and remarked how good they were. In addition to that we only had soft drinks but all in all the food was good and exactly what we needed on a road trip.
