This is Burnsville's latest watering hole. It's in a cozy location with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a good selection of local craft beer on tap and the service is friendly. The food is better than your average bar fare, and is on par with some of the more popular gastropubs that you'll find in larger cities. The specials are posted on the wall and did not disappoint. I would like to see an expanded menu, especially since they share a kitchen with the adjacent Garden Deli. We will be back on our next visit. read more

This restaurant is a jewel in the heart of Burnsville! The food is fantastic but the service is better! We had a really hard time figuring out what to eat since everything we saw around us looked so good. He finally landed on chili and grilled cheese for me and a burger with fries for hubby. We both decided we need to go back and try everything! Great food and atmosphere for a nippy night. When it's warmer outside we'll venture to the outdoor seating areas. You must try this place. Brought a party of 9 to Snap Dragon last night. First time for all of us. Food was DELICIOUS!! All 9 were bragging on their choices. Burgers, fish tacos, the spring rolls & the chicken sandwiches. Everybody was thrilled. Their French fries (I stole a couple from my buddy!) were possibly the best I've ever had!! Was tempted to return tonight just for the fries!! Ate at Snap Dragon on Saturday night and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and service was ON POINT. Armundo (I apologize if I misspelled your name!) was our waiter and he was wonderful. It is a rather small restaurant - he seemed to be pretty much running the FOH and did a wonderful job! I had the Thai Market Ribs and they were quite good! I would definitely order them again. They came with a cool crisp Asian slaw as well that helped balance out the flavor of the ribs. My partner had the grilled cheese and chili which he thoroughly enjoyed. I also had the fries, which were fine - everyone does fries differently, they just weren't my style. Friends that were eating with us definitely enjoyed them though. They are regulars and swear by the chicken wings which was evident with them ordering a 12 count EACH. We had a brief interaction with Greg (the owner I believe) on the way out and he was very pleasant. Lots of regulars here, so to me that is a testament of their quality and consistency. Hope to become a regular there myself if we get the chance to relocate to the area! read more

My cocktail was delicious and balanced, the bartender/waitress was very friendly, and my fish tacos were perfect. The breading on the fish was crisp and light. Stopped in for a snack & drink. It was a beautiful day to sit outside in the garden area. I had the Swarm Weather cocktail & my husband had a local beer from Homeplace. Both were good. Cara was a great bartender & waitress. We shared the Seashore Fries & they were a real treat. Cara informed me they have veggie burgers when I told her I was vegetarian but we weren't that hungry, especially after the tasty fries. I work for a local competitor & am regular enough at SnapDragon that most of the staff knows me by name. They have my husband's drink preferences down pat & would mine as well, if I stuck to my usual vodka tonics. But Vanessa has usually stirred up something that sounds so interesting I have to try it. I don't eat there as often as I used to...see my opening sentence. That being said, I'm completely mindblown at a review calling the staff & locals mean and/or ignorant. That simply is not true. We have been in Snapdragon at least once every week since it has opened; hubby ends up there with co-workers more often than that. Staff is super friendly & accommodating. I've seen the tables & chairs rearranged into every possible configuration by diners & the only time it was ever curtailed was when a door was blocked off during cold weather when the entire front wall of the bar couldn't be rolled up. Concerning the locals, it's a fairly even mix of actual locals that grew up in the area & folks who have moved here from somewhere else. I've seen interracial couples, same sex couples, straight folks, etc...never have I seen anyone treated "wrong" just for being. Not by staff, not by other customers. I feel compelled to defend the watering hole & the local wildlife that frequents it. And I have certainly never seen Brian give less than exemplary service, even when someone was treating him like the "help." read more

Without a doubt the greatest restaurant in town. The food, prices, variety, staff, and crowd are all equally excellent. It is an incredibly homey feel to it and it doesn't take long to settle right in and become comfortable. I recommend sitting at the bar and have conversation with the locals. read more

This really is the best place to eat in Burnsville. They have grass feed burgers. The other food items are really good as well as the micro brews. The atmosphere is very pleasant and in the summer months the outside patio is awesome. It can be full in the winter months because the dining space is half as it's too cold to sit in the patio. The girls working here are sweet and attentive. I am so apprecitive that we have Snap Dragon in Burnsville. What a great addition to town! read more

My partner and I visited this 'restaurant' on our travels this weekend. The only good thing I can share about it was how happy we were to leave. The food terrible, the wait staff worse and the local clientele hateful. Brian - the bartender did his very best to ignore us; treat us with open disrespect, blatant prejudice and ignorance. We were made to feel unwelcome the moment we walked in the door. When we attempted to find a seat at the bar - we were scalded and told we could not move the chairs due to fire regulations. It wasn't the act of moving the chairs we found objectionable - it was the way we were told; or scalded more like. The food menu very limited; the quality of presentation, plating and ingredients poor at best. The meatballs ( which I couldn't eat ) greasy and bland; my partners meal no better than something served out of a fast food truck. The fact that my partner ended up sick the next day speaks volumes in regards to kitchen hygiene or lack thereof. Asking to speak to the manager; I was eventually granted an audience. Again; unhelpful, lot's of excuses ending in " please bear with us - we're still new and learning" I can accept "new and learning" - I cannot and will not accept open hatefulness and prejudice. Shame on you Snap Dragon. Shame on your owners and management team for encouraging and promoting hate towards minority women. Racism and gender hate continues to thrive in backward North Carolina.
