I came here for the day while visiting placerville and had an amazing experience! I used to be a member at a snap fitness in Oregon and this location had a lot more equipment than my previous snap. I was especially impressed by how many squat racks there were- 4 plus a smith machine! This location is fairly large with a big room for group classes that you can use when they're not in session, a cardio room and a big weight lifting area. There is ample natural light which makes a cheerful atmosphere. There were also several bathrooms that included showers, cleaning wipes and even some water and protein bars for sale. The whole facility was very clean and everyone was nice and respectful of the space. Daniel helped me with a complementary day pass and was very nice. I'd highly recommend this gym! read more

It's been almost a year since I joined the gym, and I honestly wasn't sure this time would be any different. I felt nervous and a bit skeptical going in--but the staff completely changed that for me. They've made this experience truly incredible. Since starting, I've lost 50 pounds, which still feels surreal to say. The members are all so welcoming and friendly, which makes showing up that much easier. I also have an amazing trainer, Tina. She's fun, kind, and incredibly supportive. She pushes you when you need it most, but also knows exactly how to encourage you when you feel like giving up. This place is amazing all around--I'm so grateful I took that first step. read more

First, this review only covers the classes I attend since that's the main reason I go. Angie's bootcamp class on Monday, Daniel's basic weight class on Wednesday and Tina's bootcamp class on Friday all give a professionally designed and led workout that will make you sweat! Recently Angie was on vacation and Tina stepped up, filled in for her on one day and wrote out a workout for the most recent class. There were only 2 of us but we both really appreciated it! I belong to both Pville and Shingle Springs. I love boot camp, core and Balance and Zumba and nice, clean gym with good fans. Daniel seems to be a good managerand welcoming. More of us are moving over to Placerville as we lost a highly valued instructor at Shingle Springs because of the manager's lack of support to employees and won't apologize. There is differences as instructors at Shingle, introduce new people so others can welcome them. Bethany's morning classes are so fun and use great fun pop music. every class was different and truly fun. No rap or electronic elevator music. She knew her audience and had a gigantic following so much that she had to limit members to fit in the studio. I hope she finds an opportunity at Pville as your membership will go even higher! This is by far my favorite gym in the greater Placerville area (I've been a member at 3 others) and probably my all-time favorite across 20+ years. What impresses me most about this gym is the wonderful, positive, kind vibe of the manager and trainers as well as the clientele. I always feel comfortable here, which is not how I felt at one other (now defunct) Pville gym. The manager is a good guy who works hard to make clients feel comfortable. For example, I've heard through the rumor mill that he canceled the membership of one client after complaints from women of several extremely problematic comments. I like to know that I will find such support should I need it. I do find the clients - who include the young and old (one client who works with a trainer turns 100 this year!), the big and small - to be polite and respectful; the vast majority follow gym etiquette of using provided wipes to clean equipment after use. I also like the gym's layout into distinct large usage areas with ample weight and cardio machines as well as other equipment like bosus, foam rollers, bands, and so much more. I rarely find the gym to be so crowded that I can't get access to all the weight machines I want to use. I work with the trainer Tina who is very knowledgeable and friendly. Frankly, all the trainers seem to be likewise. It's an unusually good crew. The gym is very clean, and offers tissues and wet wipes and sanitizing gel in various locations. My girlfriend and I were in Placerville for a week due to a family wedding. We have been struggling to exercise during the pandemic. Although I had planned ahead, by bringing weights and elastic bands, I decided to see if the local gym would be willing to take a couple of visitors for a week long memebership/daily drop fee. I called snap fitness and spoke with Mary. She was very nice and consideriate to our situation, and said she would call back when she had spoken to the manager. Shortly after, I received a phone call for Mary. She said and they would be happy to host us for the week as a courtesy. If I was delighted to say the least! The gym was extremely clean. It was outfitted with sanitized wipe dispensers throughout. It is literally one of the cleanest gyms I have ever been to. The weights and equipment are more than adequate. They also have excellent cardio machines and a functional fitness area that is open to all members. The gym was never over crowded, and the employees, trainer and members are all very nice people. I had a nice conversation with the manager, Joseph, and look forward to seeing him and the rest of the Snap Fitness family on our future visits! read more

I live a nomadic lifestyle and enrolling in short term gym memberships is quick and easy with Snap Fitness. The gym in Placerville is clean, and there are plenty of machines to use even in busy times. I appreciated Daniel's friendly demeanor and no fuss enrollment and cancellation process. I just joined this little gym, and am very happy. It's spotless, has modern equipment, and is available 24 hours, which is important to me. It's also very close to my house, which is a big plus. If you're looking for classes, this location isn't for you. But if you want to come in and just do your thing, it's perfect. Your membership gets you in at all locations, and I think the one in Shingle Springs is about 3 times bigger and has even more amenities, but I'm totally satisfied with this location for my needs. read more

Placerville fitness center is spacious with plenty of customer parking. Centrally located : 1248 Broadway Hangtown Village Square Center never feels crowded as there is plenty of Cybrex equipment workout stations available. Even during busy hours there has always been plenty of equipment available to get a workout. Membership includes a personal web page to track visits, setup workout routine,nutrition / meal plan, and much more. The virtual online trainer feature to the web site is fantastic and goes through exercises just like having a personal trainer explain the proper posture and movement. I enjoy Snap fitness center convenience of 24 hour availability, the clean environment and modern equipment. Regular workouts have given me more energy, strength and better flexibility. read more

I've been going to the gym in Placerville now for on and off 2 years but now I go daily. It's easy to go daily because the atmosphere is so inviting and friendly (unlike my experience at other gyms), the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the gym is kept up very well! Warning on this gym. Typical deceptive gym practices. I signed up over four years ago and only had minor complaints. Often the gym was a mess. Mold on the drinking fountain and the garbage overflowing. The gym and restrooms just not kept clean. I made note of this a couple times over the years. I was told it would be looked into but not much changed. About two years ago they decided to charge a "gym improvement fee". Of course this upset many people. They did send an email out about it but I didn't receive much in the way of details. I contacted the gym after this and spoke with Serena. She gave excuses that it was out of her control coming from "corporate". The gym is close to my house so I stuck with them. Next a good time later some improvements did get done at the gym. They replaced the flooring that was in disrepair. I guess we are supposed to be excited they did normal upkeep on a facility that was run down? Also they purchased some giant monkey bar thing and put it in the middle of the main room of the gym. Causing the other equipment to be crowded into other spaces. Now the gym feels cramped and the monkey bars seemed to be getting used little for the amount of space they take. Next I received an email asking for feedback on my satisfaction. I gave it a one out of ten I think it was. So nice enough and showing some good customer service Dusty called me. Went over my concerns and said they are getting a new water fountain so maybe that will help with the mold complaint. Though in my mind a bottle of cleaner and some TLC might help with that complaint I have expressed for years. Not much could be said about the monkey bars. She said if I would provide another review she would give me a free water bottle and t-shirt. I did provide another review and brought the score up to a six out of ten since they showed enough customer service to reach out to me. Never did see the water bottle or t-shirt though I really didn't want it. So now that I was already unhappy they charged the gym improvement fee again! No notice at all. Not an email or a flyer at the gym posted. Really if they are going to charge these fees they should do be giving enough notice before that we can complete the 30 required days to cancel before the fee is charged. I spoke with both Dusty and Serena. Serena said it was in the contract they could charge the fee and had been all the time. She claimed they had supposed to of been charging the fee each year but hadn't bee. In the end they both said they could do nothing and it was from corporate. I was able to speak with Ryan at corporate and he admitted the gym improvement fee was not something called out specifically in the contract but the contract had terms saying they could change pricing and charge fees as they see fit. Really I see nothing wrong with that. But you should give enough notice before changes that customers can cancel. Other gyms in town are priced about the same. Better off trying one of them. I have to wonder if some of the positive reviews are people who got paid off with a water bottle and t-shirt? read more

I was super excited to start using this gym- close to my house, conveniently located and never so busy that you can't find a machine or space to work on. The website was super evasive on monthly pricing- but for a beginning "trial membership" of only 8.95, I figured I'd give it a try. The gym was nice but didn't quite fit the needs I have - but to attempt to cancel your membership is nearly impossible. No one answers or responds to emails or phone calls, and even with written proof that I wanted my membership cancelled (the basic price was ten times what the trial price is, so nearly $90/month- no thanks!) they still won't respond and are charging my account. Unfortunately- I wouldn't recommend this over priced and horrible customer service company to anyone. read more

Buyer beware, in addition to monthly dues this year they charged an additional fee to 'improve' the place. This should be covered in our dues. Plus I've seen no improvement, in fact the place has been stuffy and smelly and not very clean for quite some time now. Being fairly new to working out I really enjoyed the experance of walking into this gym were, as soon as I joined. I was immediately shown around by a staff member. I felt like I was at home! It is kept clean and up to date. The myzone band they hand out is really fun and interactive as you can compete with other people in the gym. The top ten who earned the most effort points are posted on the board every month. This keeps me motavated to stay ahead in my fitness goals and I've already seen results after going there for a couple months! read more

Friendly and helpful trainers/staff. This may sound stupid, but I also like it because it is not filled with beautiful young people. There is a good mix of all ages so I feel more comfortable doing my workouts. Premises are always clean and inviting. read more
