I have only been once and will go again when my purse is heavy....it's kind of on the pricey side...but..well, well worth it..on those light purse days I will have to just walk on by. Since my last review I had received an email from the manager apologizing profusely and offering me a refund for my purchase. However, since I don't live in houston and only visit a couple of times a year, I didn't avail the offer. Nevertheless, my husband and I went in on a Sunday morning prior to our flight. I was so excited to find Snap Kitchen! At first we almost didn't go in because my boyfriend found it on some clean food Android app but when we pulled up we thought it looked like a kitchen supply store... but we ventured in anyway and got the low-down on how Snap Kitchen works from the very friendly and knowledgeable employees. I like the food because it's portioned into SERVINGS. We're not meant to stuff 1,000 calories into our bodies at a time. This food is healthy, all of the meat is obtained locally and they have wonderful labels that show you exactly which TEXAS RANCH the meat comes from... lots of variety and options if you are a healthy, eco-conscious, clean eater like I am. I also like that they have recycle bins so if you eat in, you can recycle your containers, utensils, etc... It is a bit on the pricey side if you compare it to a sandwich shop, but the reality is... we are used to paying wayyy too little for the variety of food we eat. I thought this place was a home goods store at first. I stepped in for a quick look and came out with a happy and full stomach. I absolutely loved there Greek with shrimp salad!!! I have never been to a store like this before and some of the ingredients in the prepackaged meals, I have never heard of before. I will defiantly come back and try more of there food. I also had my first cold pressed juice experience. The Carrot and Ginger Juice drink was life changing. There staff is very helpful and gave me a full run down of the store. Not a good option for those on the keto diet. They base their plans on calories and you cannot see the carbs or fiber for each choice when adding items. You must first go through every possible meal or item in a completely different section and take notes for yourself as to what the macros are for each thing so you can use it when making your choices. For someone who is restricted to 16 net carbs per day, there is very little I can eat at snap kitchen. I do give them props for being soy free and offering grass fed beef. However, they put a lot of their items on raw spinach and the meals are to be microwaved or cooked in the oven. If I'd known several of the selections were coming with what will amount to microwaved wilted spinach or kale as the veggie I wouldn't have ordered them. Some of their dishes are served on broccoli rice. They would make a killing if they were open to mastering some of the keto staples like organic seasoned cauliflower rice. It can be made like Asian fried rice or Spanish rice and it tastes like rice. I'm glad to see a meal service is trying and hope to see them offer organic options that suit people who eat 2 meals a day and need to stay at 16 net or less. read more

I'm going to cross-post this on their other locations since the experience has been consistent among all locations (so grateful for that)! This was the first location I went to about 4 years ago and it seems to be the busiest and the best location. Bigger, more open, and the salad bar! I have been to literally every healthy prepared meal place in Houston and I've decided Snap is my favorite. Consistency in product and availability is my number one favorite thing about Snap. The price is about the same as their competitors, and occasionally I don't like an item I'm trying for the first time, but overall, most of their stuff is really good and a few things are to die for. Faves from most to least: Brownie (coconut hinted heaven), spinach/goat cheese salad, Vegetable lasagna, smoked salmon snack (I just eat a couple bites a day - so satisfying), bison quinoa hash (husband is not a health food eater and loves this!), ginger chicken stirfry, chicken strips (great snack with the mustard, not with applesauce), Go Bar. Because they're so consistent in customer service, flavor and availability, I feel more confident that their nutrition info is accurate as well. read more

My husband likes them all but I have some food allergies and the choices are limited. Their juices are good-great depending own your tastes. I have not tasted something so bad in so long. This is coming from someone who has cooked SEVERAL healthy meals. But healthy does not mean you can't SEASON your food. I got the macaroni with ground chicken, goat cheese, and butternut squash. Firstly, this was definitely sweet potato and not butternut squash, and I can very well tell the difference. The chicken tastes like it was thrown in a pan alone, cooked, and added to my meal. There was no salt, no spice, nothing. The tomato Thai basil soup was OK at best. It's very brothy and tasteless. In addition, I got a side of jalapeno hummus. It didn't come with any pita or something to dip in it, and it was way too thick. I like my hummus on the creamier side. I was so excited about ordering this bc I work in the med center and it's my first time ordering for delivery here. Trust me, it was not bad just because I got it delivered, as these meals are prepackaged and ready for you to warm. 0/10 recommend. Do not settle for tasteless healthy food. Yesterday, I was driving home from a 17 mile run (training for the marathon, end of January) and I realized that I was craving protein in an very weird way. I gave up eating red meat in the 1990s, I do not remember the last time I ate red meat... yet I wanted a burger hardcore. Obviously, I knew that equated to wanting protein (not necessarily a burger) and I knew that if I did eat a burger, I would get incredibly sick. As this thought process was going down, I was driving past Snap Kitchen and decided to grab lunch from there. I wanted something healthy and filling, and I also wanted help from someone to make sure I was getting what my body was telling me it needed. After staring at their wall of pre-prepared food, I got a little lost so I asked for help (my brain is pretty fried after a long run). The girl working there explained how they portion out food, what the calorie content of each portion is and who it is directed at. Typically, I would be a "small portion" at Snap, but because of my caloric output for the day, I got a medium chicken chimichurri dish with roasted veggies. I also grabbed a bag of vegan chocolate chip pecan cookies, for which I felt a little judgement from the woman behind the counter, but c'mon lady, I just ran for over 3 hours, I get cookies, darnit! I took it all home (eating two of the cookies on my drive), and I have to say, I really enjoyed the food. The chicken was very tasty and moist and the veggies were definitely well cooked, still a bit of a crunch to the carrots and squash and there were big chunks of garlic as well as other seasoning. The woman warned me that the chimichurri sauce was spicy, but I didn't find it to be too spicy, more flavorful than anything else. The cookies, although I am typically skeptical of any baked good that lacks dairy products, were a little dry but quite tasty. All in all, it was a little expensive, like $11.25 for the meal, but it was yummy, healthy, and I really appreciated the help from their employees. I would definitely stop back in here. read more

This place is terrible. The food is cold and prepacked in a cooler. It's very expensive for what you get and not very appetizing. The portions are very small. If you want to eat healthy, the foods are very simple to make and you would only pay a small fraction to make it your self. VERY RUDE staff!! I had heard good things about this place, and the online menu sounded delicious. I am disappointed in my experience. My entree was only ok, at best. Decently priced, definitely not worth dealing with the rude people working there. The devily eggs were over spiced, the jalapeno hummus stuffed inside.... so grossly hot no flavor could shine through, and actually gave me awful esophageal spasms and terrible heartburn for hours. I am quite fond of very spicy foods, this was ridiculously over the top. No hummus flavor, no egg taste.... just painful heat. Hopefully, it was one batch made by an inexperienced cook. The people were the rudest I have ever met. That is the main reason for this review. Not one was able to answer my question, simple one too, and not from their ignorance, I suspect, but they just couldn't be bothered. I was relieved to leave this place, away from the total rudeness. I used to come to this location often and the food is fine. Lately I've been using the curbside pickup and it is poor. This location needs to do a better job of controlling inventory and making sure every "to-go" order is thoroughly done before giving it to the customer. Today was my fourth time trying the pick up and I don't think I'll be doing that again, it never goes well. My order is either not ready or not correct. Downside to not doing pick up anymore is now I have to shop there and they never have enough inventory for what I want, and I only like a handful of their food to start with. Snap Kitchen is a lifesaver! I was in Houston for a conference at the Convention Center, and desperate for some healthy, delicious, gluten free food. I used my Yelp app (yay, Yelp!) and it took me straight to Snap Kitchen. I picked up several meals there:gluten free banana pancakes, gluten free, dairy free fettucini Alfredo, Creole "eggs" (tofu) and grits, and even a cricket flour energy bar. It was all delicious- and very affordable! Plenty of microwaves on site for warming up anything you want heated, too. In a food court in a mall, so don't go expecting ambience. read more

I just went here on a whim on my lunch beak after a bank run. I haven't even microwaved my meal yet (vegetable lasagna), and had to sit down to write this review because I was so incredibly impressed with their customer service. I took quite a bit of time scanning their options & was impressed with their labeling system. Everything was easy to read, including pricing, ingredients, & nutritional info. I took my choice to the counter & was asked if I had a "Snap card." I told her no, it was my first time & she told me well in that case, your lunch is on the house! WOW! I went ahead & signed up for the card, which was totally pain-free. I didn't have to fill anything out, just told her some basic info. Basically, how the card works is, for every dollar you spend you get a point on the card. When you get up to 500 points, you get a whopping $25 off! Score!! I hope I like my meal choice as much as I liked walking in there & just my general experience. Even if I'm not a fan of the lasagna, I will definitely go back & try again out of sheer excitement of this healthy lunch option concept. read more
