The food is always cooked fresh but the service is not always nice. Sometimes I feel rushed.

Let me start by saying, these are some of the most friendly and caring folks I have ever…read moreencountered in the restaurant business. Of course, the food is excellent, and they are always creating new and exciting food dishes. While seafood is their specialty, it doesn't stop there... not by a long shot. They offer new creations almost every week and they range from new creative side dishes, main courses, to deserts. Their deserts are absolutely delicious so give them a try. Now back to their service. They are all very personable and after a few visits they knew my name. I am always treated special even after I've been served, they will always walk by and ask if I need anything else. In conclusion, give Wharf Casual Restaurant a try. You order at the counter but after that they will serve you at your table and whatever else you require, they will gladly supply with a smile always on their face. Try them... you won't be sorry. Oh, one more thing. Wednesday is Wind-down day. It is two for one on all wine drinks. How can you beat that?

Not so hungry on a busy family day…read more Went to one of my parents' favorite local restaurants. The Wharf Casual Seafood has many seafood options. Got a couple of plates of mahi-mahi blackened with hushpuppies and a side. I got garlic green beans. My parents had the salad. Ask for the creamy Greek dressing. It is so good. Great with the fish and the salad. (It also helped as the mahi-mahi was a bit dry.) The strawberry lemonade is served in a tall frosted mug. So cute. So refreshing. Love the fresh strawberries and sliced lemons. We sat outside at first, but then moved quickly inside as it poured rain. Thank you also for the slices of red velvet cake. What a sweet treat to cap off a nice weekend meal with the family. Parking is easy. The restaurant is cute and cozy. Not crowed on a Sunday night on Memorial Day Weekend, but note..they close at 8 PM.

New Orleans Seafood 2819 Mahan Dr. Suite 12…read moreTallahassee, FL 32308 Definitely NOT New Orleans Being from Louisiana, I wanted some good seafood for lunch and after reading some of the reviews from others who had good things to say about the food from this restaurant, I wanted to try it for myself. I was DISAPPOINTED. Just DISAPPOINTED. The food was NOT good and definitely NOT New Orleans. The food was downright horrible. Despite the inside appearance, the tacky décor and signs plastered all over the place, I really wanted to like this place, and it breaks my heart to have to write this review. I ordered two dinners. The 10-piece catfish strips with fries and and the 6-piece shrimp with hushpuppies at a total cost of $16.66. It took about 15 - 20 minutes to get my order. Everything tasted like it was fried in cooking oil that was beyond its life and needed to be changed. The catfish strips were small, overcooked, dark in color, dry, and had the flavor of burnt oil / grease. The shrimps were small, overcooked, dry, and tasted like it was cooked in burnt oil / grease. The fries were soggy and just like the fish and shrimp had a burnt taste to them. The hushpuppies were the only thing that was eatable and had great flavor. I only ate 2 pieces of the horrible catfish strips, 3 small shrimps, and a couple of the hushpuppies because that's all my stomach could only tolerate. New Orleans Seafood was a total let down. This may be a locally owned and operated small business, but my goodness, have some standards when it comes to restaurant appearance and food quality.

He complained but went back to the register for our order. He seemed confused with a simple order of three gumbos, one red beans and rice? one catfish dinner? one mullet sandwich and one shrimp Poboy. He finger poked thaat iPad so much that I felt sorry for it. he did complain constantly, but said the food would be out shortly. I asked him about the size of the said they were all sizes and I said OK. He did end up charging extra for a larger one which I did not ask for and he did not let me know . He completely forgot my sister's shrimp Poboy? the gumbo was so salty none of us could eat it. The mullet and catfish were so overcooked and cornmealed that they tasted the same and were both so overcooked there was little meat left to eat. The red beans and rice were OK nothing fancy hard to screw that up. The gumbo might have tasted good except for being so salty it was inedible. Two other people came in, ordered and ate before our take out order was ready. The server was so unkind to us, complained so much about us just being there and wanting food that I believe he sabotage our food to pay us back. I can't imagine anyone being happy with the quality of food that we ended up taking back to the hospital with us. We were there with our sister whose son was in Neuro ICU. We have to go back to Tallahassee from Orlando to continue the vigil over my sister's son. I would eat at Popeyes fried chicken before I would go back to this place. oh! I almost forgot. He overcharged me for the mullet sandwich. I would post a picture of the receipt, but I don't think this review allows it.
